[Q] Fake Samsung Galaxy S3 problem - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I have here a fake samsung galaxy s3
After hours of searching I finally figured out that my phone is an MTK.
MTK Soft Ver: 0x1220
MTK HW Ver: MT6250
OS: MTK52D
Model: J5001
I wanted to root this phone but there is no development settings so no usb debugging option either..
Basically I want to put a new OS on this phone but I'm stuck not knowing what else to do to try rooting this phone..
What can I do to put a new OS on it..
Any helpful information would be much appreciated!

Nobody has a clue?

Does it run Android, and if so, what version? If it's 4.2+, then you need to repeatedly tap 'Build Number' in your about phone page of Settings.

Using *#66*# you will find something like this (and factory tests):
VERSION SUMMARY: YLXJ5001_11B_272_Y7_ML10
MCU SW: YLXJ5001_11B_272_Y7_ML10
BB CHIP: MT6250
DSP CODE: 2000.00.00
DSP PATCH: 1.0
MS BOARD: ZHJ5001_11B_HW
BUILD: 2012/12/27
But nothing more to do from this point... This device is a shame for me, I can`t do anything.

P.S.
You can visit Mediatek's page and see by yourself the low power CPU MT6250 specifications

It's a small tech blog or something like that.
Have you tried other versions of gingerbreake?
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.

if i have read correctly (that you have gingerbread 2.3), you first need to downgrade to 2.2/2.2.1/2.2.2 to be able to root using those methods

[Q] How to upgrade ChangHong IPAD H102 to 4.0

Hi,
I am very new to the Android so please excuse me if I am asking something really dumb.
I had a friend of mine go to Chaina recently who helped me get a inexpensive tablet PC by ChangHong which is running on a Android 2.3.3.
When I go to the settings of the phone I see the following information
Model number: HW Type = MT8801_ZX_8 Vendor ID: 06600
Andriod Version = 2.3.3
Baseband Version = Unknown
Kernal version = 2.6.35.7-tcc [email protected] #137
Build number = V2.327
SN = 0052388697534832
RAM: 1.5GB
Storage: 5.44 GB
Speed : 1.0 GHz (I think! not sure)
when i try the option to do a "System update" it throws an error:
"The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
I tried to google for this perticular model on the net and unfortunately I see no mention of this model or the company, so I am sure that I am not going to get any help from the manufacture.
So can some one help me understand if its possible for me to manually upgrade the Andriod OS to version 4.0 as it looks like there is nothing special on the OS installed.
Regards
Kiran
Hi,
I would really appriciate if some one can let me know if its possible to manually upgrade a tablet from Android 2.3.3 to 4.0. I think the hardware here can support the upgrade, but just not sure how this can be done.
Regards
Kiran
Unless an update has been released, which i honestly doubt for this inexpensive tablet, you're out of luck. You can check through the android devel sections to see if anyone has developed a kernel for this device. You need that before you can even begin to think about 4.0 Best of luck.

Unknown handset! Please help

Hi guys n gals,
I've bought what was advertised on eBay as a "SanYi V12" android phone, it's quite good, but I'd like to change the droid rom on it - only problem is, I have no idea which build of rom to use as I don't know the make of the bloody thing!
Is there a way of finding out? I've looked in About Phone, and it's running Android 5.1, Model number V12,
Kernel version 3.10.72
[email protected] #1
a rather long Build number that starts with X5
Custom built version
ALPS.L1.mP6.V2_YUANDA6580.WEG.L_P2
???????????????????????????
Hope you can help!!
Further information
OK, I've had some info that says it's a n820 Android handset.
Any ideas?

E&L S60 - Alps - Arm64-V8a - Root & ROM Help

Hello all,
I am interested in rooting and installing a custom ROM on the Chinesium phone I bought the other day and I am having a hard time getting started.
(Can't post a link to the phone but a Google search of E&L S60 should get you there)
Rooting seems to be specific to the model of the phone and processor type, and I am seeing nothing that coincides with my model number.
CPU: Arm64 - V8A
Model: S60 (full_kxd6753_65_s60)
Manufacturer: Alps
OS: Nougat (7.0)
Does anyone know how to go about figuring out
1st - How to Root this thing
2nd- What ROM to install
Do I just look for other phones with known Rooting techniques that closely match my hardware? I'm not adverse to bricking it, but I also don't want to just see what happens by trying something that has a high probability of bricking my phone either!
Any and all guidance and/or suggestions would be welcome!
Screw that guy! lol!
Well.. I soft bricked it. YAY!
I used the ROM for a Umi Iron Pro with the exact same specs... and BRICK.
Any pearls of wisdom?
Please?

Need Custom ROM Android 7.1 or newer for ALPS M960 generic Tablet

Having a hard time finding a backup and Rom for this rather generic tablet. TWRP doesn't seem to be able to work with it, nor most rooters I found. anyone know what should / will work for me? This was a present for my wife, was supposed to have Android 7.1 but came with 5.1 which is almost useless now and system updates don't work.
attached are the specs / info of the tablet in photo form:
Similar problem with ALPS M962-2G
I have an ALPS JHZL M962-2G, Android 8.1. This was possibly infected by a virus and I want to completely reflash the ROM to make sure I've got rid of it. Unfortunately, I can't find a suitable ROM. I'd be happy with Android 8.1 or later. Anyone got any ideas? Some more info:
Model M962-2G
CPU 10 core 2.5G
Kernel 3.4.67
Build no. ALPS.KK1.MP1.V2.46
Custom build version JHZL-M962-2G-20191009
I'd be really grateful for some help.
