[US/WW/JP/TW/DE/TB] One-Click Universal root for stock firmware - V4

Here I am again...
This time I have written a shell script (linux only) and made a live-cd (for all windows/linux users) to automatically root the stock firmware on the TF101. Every stock firmware.
Today in Europe Asus rolled out the 3.2 upgrade. If you are on stock and you have alredy upgraded then download attached tar file and do as follows:
NOTE: Unfortunately, this script won't work with the latest revision of TF101 (3G version, B80 and some B70)
NOTE2: As someone pointed out (thank you Pieter) you need to be root on your linux box in order to make it work.

In Ubuntu the last command would be:

Follow the instructions and you're done.
If you have a stock US/DE/TW/JP/TB firmware you can do the same.
If you are running an older version of Honeycomb the process is the same.
When ASUS will pull out another upgrade... same commands as above.
So this probably is the closest thing to one-click-root for the Transformer.
This won't install custom rom/CWM/strange other things (V2 version added the support for CWM); it's only root.
I've tested this morning after the 3.2 upgrade and it worked like a charm.
However this is in testing stage so, as always, if you brick/ruin/burn/crash something don't blame on me.

LIVE CD INSTRUCTIONS
It's based on slitaz (http://www.slitaz.org/).
Burn the image into a cd or if you want it on a thumb usb drive follow this (http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:liveusb).
Put the cd/usb in your pc and reboot.
Follow the indication on screen (for setting locale and keymap).
When the desktop shows up, double click on "Universal Root for ASUS TF101".
Again follow the indication and you'll be ok.

The option to install a stock boot/recovery (added on V3) is working even if not fully tested.
The program has correctly rebuilt a stock recovery on my WW version.
From version V4 root checker correctly says that the rom is not rooted after you do an unroot.

[Q] I'm running on Windows, how can I burn the live-cd?
[A] Try with cdburnerxp (it's the easiest way).
You can download one installer frome here:

or the portable package if you don't want to install other software:

Start the program (for the portable version the file is cdbxpp.exe) and click on "Burn iso image". Then select the .iso file you have downloaded and click "burn disk". All Done.
[Q] How can I reboot in APX/recovery mode?
[A] Do as follows:
VOL UP + POWER BUTTON for ~5sec = boot in APX mode. The screen will stay black as if it is turned off. This mode is used only when you use nvflash to flash boot/recovery/data partition (this is the first step in my script).
VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON ~5sec = will appear a screen where it says to press vol down again to wipe all data (obviously you don't want to do it now), or press up to enter RCK (recovery mode). If you installed CWM you will see the main menu navigable with vol up / vol down / power button.
If you have the stock recovery you will see a green android with a esclamation mark on a yellow triangle.
[Q] Help! I can't reboot in recovery mode!
[A] I think the main problem here is that it is a bit tricky to get into CWM recovery, once you see the small text come up don't try to read anything, just hit volume up.
Hold volume down plus power until the text in upper left shows,if you let go too early it just boots up and you never see the text. If you wait too long you don't get the option to boot into recovery. Hope that helps..

[Q] The live-cd gave me this error: "connection failed NvError 0x8" what is it?
[A] This means that either you are not in APX mode (read above), or that you have one of the latest revision of the tf101 (B7O) which have an unknown (for now) sbk.
For what i know, there's no knew method for rooting your device.
Maybe someone will find a way, but for now you have to be patient.

[A] The root script will asks you to reboot your tablet, make sure that usb debugging is turned on and then press any key.
You have to wait until you see a little bee on the bottom right of your tablet's screen, near the clock. Then press any key.
[Q] I've installed CWM but every time i try to do a backup, it says it can't find sdcard. But my microsd card work fine with root explorer!
[A] Don't get me wrong but, are you sure?
In root explorer you see a sdcard folder but it's not your microsd, it's the internal memory (it's weird, i know). In root explorer the microsd card is mounted under the "/removable/microsd" folder. You should also see a little sd card icon in the bottom right, near the clock.
Also you need to make sure the card is formatted correctly. Try reformat it with this: https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/

[Q] The live cd stops at the command prompt, I can't see the desktop.
[A]The live cd doesn't include every driver for every video card, mouse, keyboard, etc.. (keep in mind that the original slitaz livecd is only 30MB).
You can do all the process in the text console, it's not much more difficult.
If it asks for a login insert "tux" (without quotes).
At the command line enter the following:

In linux there's no need for drivers to work with tf101.
Windows seems to be problematic with driver (for someone seems to be way too difficult install the right ones).
As i stated above, adding this to a live linux cd will be the final one-click-root (put a live cd/usb-memory on your computer, reboot, follow the easy instructions and you're rooted).
Sincerely I don't know how to modify a livecd to add these scripts and programs.
If anyone wants to try, he is welcome.
Anyway I don't plan to do a windows port of this.

Excellent, glad to avoid having to dig out my old Windows box to root the TF Would advise people to drop it, new Mint/Ubuntu is much nicer visually than Win7 and my startup times are fantastic, not to mention the slick media support.
Does you script give also install CWM?
Will give this a go later and see how it works.

I was thinking on it, but perhaps it's better no.
Installing cwm means no more ota, since the update relies on the stock recovery.
This script was meant to leave all as stock as possible.

For all the windows folks:
I have added to the first post a live-cd with all the necessary tools.
Just run it and you'll be fine. (anyway, you are always in time to switch to linux)

First i learned how to root the stock firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125714 .
Essentially the steps are:
1 - download a modified boot image into the tablet
2 - install the su and superuser packages.
My scripts do these 2 steps. I wrote a small howto that explains how to modify a boot image (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193737)

I really would like to have an answer to these questions...
The Mac should have a layer of compatibility with linux (can't tell you more), but i really don't know the mac world.
*Maybe* the live cd will work under virtual machine; there should be some options to enable the usb feature. In Virtual Box there's an option to enable the usb controller and an option to filter what device will be accessible to the guest os; don't know vmware and virtual pc.
I don't know if an Intel based Macintosh is able to boot from a x86 live-cd, you could try.

Created a live usb, booted via windows, and voila i am looking at a linux desktop, which i have not seen for a long time. Started going to its paces to root my tf, but did not push thru to the end, in as much as my tf is already rooted beforehand. But i can sense that barring any unforeseen miscues by the |op|, this almost one-click rooting procedure should produce its desired result. Highly recommended; good job |op|.
Looks like this calls for an "unrooting" routine to complement the rooting process. How about it?

I have already tried this, but seems it doesn't work.
if i write "adb reboot recovery" or "adb reboot bootloader" my tablet reboot in normal mode.
It's more reliable do it manually.

you are already rooted, so just need the cwm.
Since i had many requests on adding cwm, i am going to update the scripts and live-cd for adding this feature.

Adding Android Market to Coby Kyros MID1125 (no rooting)

I hope this helps some people out there, because it drove me nuts trying to find a way to do this for the MID1125 since it's so new...
First off, I was told by the two main rooting software developers that there is currently no way to root my device, so I needed to find a way to add Market without rooting the tablet. BTW, I’m running 2.3.3.
Secondly, none of the guides on how to add Android Market out there worked for me (once again because my tablet is too new). Every time I tried to use Market, it would just keep crashing, so here is how I did it:
1. Turn on the Debugging Mode (Settings>Applications>Development, then check the box).
2. If you have a microSD card in the tablet, safely eject it.
3. Plug your Kyros into your computer with the supplied USB cable and turn USB Storage on. You will then be prompted to open a window up, so do that because that is the internal storage of your tablet.
4. Download and unzip the file I attached to your computer (there should be 8 files in the zip).
5. Drag the 8 files onto the root of your device.
6. Turn off USB Storage on your tablet and disconnect the cable.
7. On your tablet, use a file managing program. I use the one that came stock on the unit, which is ES File Explorer. Once this program is open, you should see “/sdcard/” on the top left. If you don’t, click the home picture toward the top left. Now when you scroll down, you will see the 8 files that you dragged onto the tablet. Install them in the order that they are listed by selecting each one at a time, which should be GoogleBackupTransport.apk, GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleFeedback.apk, GooglePartnerSetup.apk, GoogleServicesFramework.apk, Talk.apk, and Vending.apk.
8. Once all 8 files are successfully installed, reboot your tablet, and when it comes back on, click the Market icon, and log in with the normal Google username and password (or create a new account if you don’t have one).
9. Turn off the Debugging Mode (Settings>Applications>Development, then uncheck the box) and you should be good to go.
* I've successfully done this on three of these MID1125 tablets, so I figured I would try to save others the MANY hours it took for me to figure this out.

Yeah, pass the information along for the new market and especially if someone finds out how to root it. I have already tried z4root and Gingerbreak, neither of which worked.. I was about to try pulling it from my LG Optimus S phone running Cyanogen Mod with Gingerbread 2.3.3. I will test it out and report back. If I can I will post the files for the new market as well.

how do you get the driver for the mid1125 my computer wont find it and when i go to adb it says device not recognized

problems with market and the mid1125
so is anybody elses lockscreen flickering on and off randomly after installing market?
my tablet is also shutting off a lot, randomly, and i cant seem to get it to work right lately. is there any way to root it yet? kindof tired of this generic software it has!
and the person above with the rooting instructions is very hard to understand

First off, I was told by the two main rooting software developers that there is currently no way to root my device, so I needed to find a way to add Market without rooting the tablet. BTW, I’m running 2.3.3.
Secondly, none of the guides on how to add Android Market out there worked for me (once again because my tablet is too new). Every time I tried to use Market, it would just keep crashing, so here is how I did it:
1. Turn on the Debugging Mode (Settings>Applications>Development, then check the box).
2. If you have a microSD card in the tablet, safely eject it.
3. Plug your Kyros into your computer with the supplied USB cable and turn USB Storage on. You will then be prompted to open a window up, so do that because that is the internal storage of your tablet.
4. Download and unzip the file I attached to your computer (there should be 8 files in the zip).
5. Drag the 8 files onto the root of your device.
6. Turn off USB Storage on your tablet and disconnect the cable.
7. On your tablet, use a file managing program. I use the one that came stock on the unit, which is ES File Explorer. Once this program is open, you should see “/sdcard/” on the top left. If you don’t, click the home picture toward the top left. Now when you scroll down, you will see the 8 files that you dragged onto the tablet. Install them in the order that they are listed by selecting each one at a time, which should be GoogleBackupTransport.apk, GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleFeedback.apk, GooglePartnerSetup.apk, GoogleServicesFramework.apk, Talk.apk, and Vending.apk.
8. Once all 8 files are successfully installed, reboot your tablet, and when it comes back on, click the Market icon, and log in with the normal Google username and password (or create a new account if you don’t have one).
9. Turn off the Debugging Mode (Settings>Applications>Development, then uncheck the box) and you should be good to go.
* I've successfully done this on three of these MID1125 tablets, so I figured I would try to save others the MANY hours it took for me to figure this out.

Problems adding Android Market to MID1125
I have followed the instructions of how to add the Adroid Market to the MID1125 and still no go. I get the GoogleBackupTransport.apk installed and every other file comes up not installed, with the exception of the Vending.apk which loads. Of course the Android Market does not work. It only flashes a white screen for a second the back to the desktop. I have uninstalled the packages and reinstalled several times, with the same result. I really do not want to root it.
Any ideas, anybody???

Since there is a terrible lack of information on this RockChip tablet, I've decided to compile what is known about this tablet into one thread. I'll modify this as more info becomes available to me.
Double Power TD-1010 10.1" Tablet
Tablet architecture: this tablet is a Rockchip RK3066 based tablet.
Rooting the TD-1010: The method that I have tried and successfully rooted my tablet involves using the drivers from PDAnet and AndroidRoot. A tutorial exists on YouTube for this. Having that out of the way, we can begin on more technical information.
Backing up the ROM: As the tablet is a rockchip device, you can use the RkFlashTool for linux here in order to copy/write to the tablet. I've modified the source of RkFlashTool in order to detect the tablet, and attached it below.
1.compile it using the included instructions, and throw it in your /usr/bin folder.
2.To put the tablet into flash mode, hold the VOL+ button while plugging in the usb cable to the tablet.
3.Wait 2-3 seconds before letting go of the Vol+ button after plugging it in. your screen should be black at this point.
4.You are now in flash mode, and can be detected by the rkflashtool.
5.Download the Linux tools.7z, and run MAKE on the tools dir.
6.Copy the resulting mkkrnlimg executable to your /usr/bin directory.
7.make sure the simpledump has permissions to execute, and run

you can root and flash existing ROMS on windows, but you cannot dump your own tablet on windows.

Just an FYI for those interested. I've found a working romdump procedure for this tab, that's independent of any OS. Unfortunately, I can't post the link, but would be more than happy to supply it some other way. I can confirm it works and is safe. It's on vondroid.com for those interested. The rest of the link is /threads/updated-27-08-2012-how-to-dump-current-rom.322/ hope it helps those using windows.
Just for clarification purposes. 'The extracted file is what you need to copy to your SD, not the zip. And when you change the permissions all you need to do is add execute to the user. Oh, and in term emulator after su you need to enter /data/local/romdump and NOT just /data/romdump because it won't work.

Thank you sooooo much for the work you have compiled into one location. Is there any way that you could provide a detailed description for Windows PC's for loading the ROM that increases the App storage file size to 2GB and also how to load CWM as the permanent recovery? I just received my tablet back from DOPO and it is loaded with Android 4.1.1 firmware and 1GB of app storage space. The original root process (android root unlocker) does not work anymore. I ended up using (root rk29) to obtain root access (just in case anyone needs the info). Thank you in advance for your support with this tablet, it is greatly appreciated.

Nexus 5 WiFi problem...acting strange....turning ON / OFF and Power ON/ OFF

Gentlemen/ Ladies,
I am NOT a developer, in fact I need a little help here, and searching all over internet, I bet you guys are probably the last resort of true assistance to my problem.
I am a proud Nexus 5 (Hammerhead) phone user, yes, still Nexus 5 because it is such a good reliable phone.
But started the day before, the WiFi is turning itself OFF, and although I tried turning it ON, it just keep searching and searching (where the screen usually display all WiFi networks around, it just shows a energy-bar running from left to right, while bottom is pretty much blank except saying turning ON wifi).
The phone then shutting down itself, OR I have to turn the phone OFF, wait to power ON again, sometimes WiFi works , sometimes it does not, or turn if OFF itself after a few minutes. when it's back ON, it works normally for a short time, then OFF again....
All other functions of the phone are flawless, blue tooth, my t-mobile LTE, have no problems.
At this stage, I can’t tell, it is a software and hardware error.
Did’nt drop on the floor, no water damages, no crack on screen, I have been use it nicely. I noticed the battery drinks fast, and I worried that this problem is the result of bad battery/ shutting down due to empty battery, so yesterday I finally replaced the battery with a brand new one.
I checked my charter internet modem, and wireless router, all seems to be ok, as my other PC and laptop both using hard cable and wireless, other cell phone also use the same WiFi at home, they all function OK.
I ran malwarebytes and panda anti-virus on the Nexus 5, no virus.
I tried suggestions from youtube:
-turn the airplane mode ON/OFF
-turn t mobile, bluetooth ON/OFF
-reset network connection, ( that only brings my t mobile ON)
-Developer mode ON, select legacy DHCP,
As you notice, it’s a Nexus, it still runs on Android 6.01 version, not the latest. And I really do not want to “manufacturer re-set” back to original setting, just too much work, not to mention, a reality that I may not able to get updates from Android as the version is old, which really put me in a more difficult position. I am financially tight now and hoping to continue to use this Nexus 5 for another year before I can afford a new phone.
I also noticed from the website here, there is a "FirstEver" Andriod 8.1 for nexus 5 hammerhead available, Will it solve my WiFi problem/ error? Also, it will be nice for my Nexus 5, right? My phone is still running on Android 6 !

Hello, unfortunately this was very common on the nexus 5. It is a hardware issue. It has something to do with the WiFi chip that's on the motherboard.
It happened to me and funny enough I'm responding to you on that same Nexus 5.
My solution was to buy a used (damaged external) Nexus with functioning internals; CPU, motherboard, BT, WiFi etc etc and then swap out the damage motherboard with the used one. You would have to either flash/reset an OS on the replacement motherboard to "clean" it up.
There's a few tutorials here on XDA on how to disassemble the the back and battery removal. Do a quick search on Google with the addition of "XDA" on the end of the search criteria. The search bar here on XDA is terrible.

My situation is WiFi sometimes works, sometimes it does'nt. That's why it is difficult for me to determine IF it is a hardware/software issue. Do you think by replacing the pair antenna will work?

Hello, I don't think the wire itself is the issue. You can try, I'm just not sure.
Do you have custom recoveryOr at least have have the boot bootloader unlocked on your phone??
Having TWRP recovery simplifies everything as far as backing up information on the phone.
Your options for downloading from your phone is limited since WiFi is broke. Do you have some data room to upload information to Google backup?? That may be your only option, especially if you're not on a custom recovery.

Installing TWRP recovery is the very first step in "fully" backing up your device. Data, OS, user preference and all apps. Plugging into a PC and moving personal folders and files is just that. Transferring files and folders. Now, you can definitely do that and have your personal data on the PC but if you plan to install the 8.1 Android OS anyways you'll need TWRP recovery. So why not "kill two birds with one stone."
You are correct, simply transferring files/folders will not translate to a bootable medium. Having a TWRP backup will do just that. It will act like a "bootable" file whenever you need to roll back to a previous state.
Once you search a guide/tutorial, you'll find that the whole process is done through a PC. So you'll be fine. But please read through the guides first and get familiar with the process before typing any commands in.

Would you please pinpoint to me just where exactly I can read the "guide/ tutorial" section that applies in my situation? This website is so big, I almost "lost in ocean" here....
I will first backup my Nexus 5 today, and waiting for yr "guide/ tutorial" section, mostly like do the installation android 8.1 either Monday night or tuesday night. I notice the guy at FirstEver already produced his custom Android 9.0 version, but it is too new for me, I am thinking he is still perfecting his version, just a thought !

When I typed adb root bootloader, on my DOS black screen of my computer, it says:
"adb" is not recognized as in internal or external command operable program or batch file.
Earlier, as I was doing the ADB , step 9 and step 10 did not pop up, but it did say completed in blue little screen, I did that 3 times, same thing, following their instruction as below:

From the first link you gave me, I ran into more difficulties....( the instruction of that link is no where near the actual scene I ran into....see below 1-5 )
I clicked the download link for Android SDK, my plan was first to get the ADB working.
I got the Android Studio thing that's about over 1GB,
From the link-ADB and Fastboot Installation
1. Download the full Android SDK here (scroll to the bottom of the page>DOWNLOAD FOR OTHER PLATFORMS>SDK Tools Only) or get a slimmed version containing only the essential components(Thanks @El Daddy)
Link removed since it expired
2. Extract the zip and place the android-sdk-windows folder on your desktop.
**If you chose to download the slimmed sdk skip to step 5**
3. Only if you downloaded the full sdk: Go into the android-sdk-windows folder and run SDK Manager.exe. Install the following packages (there are a total of 4 packages):
- Tools > Android SDK Tools, Android SDK Platform-tools
- Extras > Android Support Library, Google USB Driver
4. Only if you downloaded the full sdk: Go back into the android-sdk-windows directory, and you should see a new folder named platform-tools. If you don't see this new folder, repeat the step above.
5. To confirm that it is indeed working, open a command prompt window and enter the following commands:

I think you should try the last link. The all in one tool. I know it took me a few times to figure out how to correlate the instructions to what is on the PC screen. The all in one tool simplifies everything.
You can YouTube the tutorials as well get a step by step process.

Seems to me that All-In-1 tool can do many things.
But in my situation now, i first need to get the ADB works otherwise I cannot move forward getting back-up, does that "install driver" will get the adb works? If not, which function should I select?

Just now, i tried SDK thing again, noticed that JAVA error, i went ahead the got the latest JAVA April 2019 version, this time, the SDK went ok without any error this time.
My question is: when I go back to DOS, to type the cmd command(s) according the FirstEver's instruction #4/ 5, how do I use the SDK thing to solve the " adb is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file" error ??

FYI, I did not try the last link, as it seems more complicated and does not looks like it can solve my situation.
I am stuck, first link: downloaded and installation the thing SDK, tried typing the command in DOS, same thing. It is very very frustrated when the instruction(s) are no where near the actual thing from what I see....

I have a tablet I can depure via USB and where I can root the tablet. But if I connect to the internet, the "registration and password" of university program enters and is saved (even after formatting it is stuck on this screen) blocking the tablet, I believe that after the internet loads, it installs this locking program ... What would be the name of this type of application? I'd like to know, how remove this app, to If connect in internet, we can block (and try install TWRP via internet with TWRP Management)...

I've been trying to resolve this issue for weeks. I have a tablet that I can't unlock (it's super hard, it's like Dark Souls of tablets). Well let's start.
He has a program that blocks asking for password and user (this a old from a university), where you request access via wireless or 2G/3G. without it you can't access it, so I believe I have to change his firmware instaled in, but I'm having a hard time to make it.
• Let's go to basic product information:
The chip is a RK3066 (same from TV BOX based on rockchip).
The model is YPY L1050 from POSITIVO (it's from Brazil).
- Software and Items
I have the drivers installed (correctly);
I have adb installed;
I have SD_Card;
I have acess from PC;
The tablet is unroot;
• Back to the items:
So, the good news is that I have the same tablet model, unlocked (with another type of ROM that I am unaware of). That works normally, without problems. Well, I saw a procedure that basically it is possible to extract this image from the good tablet, to the locked tablet. I did that, I ended up extracting a series of .img files from the unlocked tablet: boot, cache, kernel, system, etc... ok.
• Trying a extract from unlock same tablet:
I try transfer the copied files from "good unlock tablet" (extrated with AndroidTool), and put in (with the same tool) in the lock tablet... There is a problem, even before starting the operation, I have the error "Test Device Fail ", in the last is not possible to transfer files via USB (I can only do commands like" ResetDevice ", or export the images from the blocked tablet via AndroidTool... and yes I have the drivers instaled, commands like adb sideloader in the fastboot works).
• Trying a firmware found in internet:
Well, I tryed to download the firmware found on the internet corresponding to the device model, but unfortunately I have the same error as above. I download the .img firware original and using the RKBatchTool and have the same error (the operation don't start, give "Test Device Fail" in "Upgrade" and "Restore").
I believe that both operations do not accept transferring via USB.
PS: The tablet unlocked the command of "TestDevice" works fine.
• What I was thinking of doing:
1 - I think I need to take the all .img(s) files extracted from the unlocked device, put it in a single image (.img), put it in a SD_Card and in the "fastboot" take the option "update rkimage from external storage". But I don't know how to do this. (I try search for it);
2 - Somehow being able to do "apply update from external storage", maybe doing the same procedure above with an "update.img", but I also don't know how to do that (put all img. files together in the form of a one update.img).
3 - Have anothers options, like "apply update from ADB", the PC response this conection with tablet, (I can see the device with ''adb device'' cmds in sideload mode in PC). The problem is that I don't know how I'm going to send the .img file, if I send it inside a .zip (I even tried that, send all the .img files inside a .zip to see if it works. The tablet arrives to read the files but in the end the operation aborts). So my knowledge is lacking in this part.
4 - Another would be such a "ROM Dump." I'd like to do a "ROM dump" with an SD card, I even researched it on the internet but I didn't find this procedure to rockchip (only for Amlogic).
With SD Card:
There was a youtube that managed to unlock a tablet like that, but it was a previous model that I'd like to unlock (and different version of firmware, android etc). His method was to put a bootable sd_card, but he doesn't explain how he does it (he only gives the file done) and looking at the files internally, I just think they were converted to linux formats (system.tar.gz, userdata.tar.gz, some .sh .so files, and a bootenv.img, uImage etc) and with completely different names from .img... It is a pity that it is not for my Tablet model .
Well, that's it in the end, I need to change the firmware and I don't know how to do it.
PS: I tried other operations/methods as well, but I will not comment so that this post doesn't get big.

Instead of trying to package the .img files into one file, you should try flashing each .img individually via fastboot using commands with the following structure:
fastboot flash <name of partition> <name of partition.img>
The following commands are examples.
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash kernel kernel.img
You will need to use a separate command for each individual .img.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Well I can make it via adb sideload? I can't use the command "adb reboot fastboot". Because this command "adb reboot fastboot" only turns off the tablet don't restarting into fastboot/download mode (just turns off). But If I manually enter on the bootloader, I can access the adb sideload option, where the adb install on computer can detects the device via the "adb devices command" with sideload.

It isn't going to work via adb unless the device is rooted and then it won't be via adb sideload, it would be done by using dd commands to dd the .img files directly to their partitions.

I just found a solution. It requires some tinkering, though.
I had to use a machine running windows 7, because that's the only OS that the drivers worked.
Download the firmware for the Ypy L1050F here: https://www.stockrom.net/2018/07/l1050.html
It comes with the drivers, the ROM, and a tool called RKBatchtool 1.8
You'll have to decompress everything, open RKBatchtool and choose the firmware that is in the ROM folder (Not the DEMO one).
Now comes the tricky part: You gotta undo the 3 screws aroud the tablet, then pry it open with your fingers(remember to remove microSD and SIM first, to avoid breaking stuff!). I recommend startind by the side with the usb, hdmi and power ports to get some leverage. The back cover should pop right off. Then you have to locate the NAND chip in it. Should be a Micron one with 48 pins. The small circle at one of the corners of the chip represents pin 1. Plug your usb cable to the tablet. With the tablet TURNED OFF, use a SIM removal tool or very fine tip metallic screwdriver to short pins 17 and 18 on the NAND chip and plug the power jack into the tablet. RKBatchtool should show that a device was connected. You can release the screwdriver now and just click the "Upgrade" button in RKBatchtool. Now this is very important: DO NOT UNPLUG your tablet until everything is done. It'll tell you when it's done uploading the firmware and checking it. Enjoy your new usable tablet!
I scoured the internet and found this procedure being used for TV Boxes with the same RK3066 SoC. AFAIK, nobody else managed to do it so far, so spread the word.
