[Q] Do Roms with multi carrier features support AT&T LTE!? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Sorry if it's kind of a noob question but I'm new to XDA and I was wondering if I had a Verizon Galaxy s3 and I used a rom like Synergy with multi carrier would it support ATT LTE or anyone's LTE other than Verizon?! Please help! !

No, it would not work. I wouldn't expect that it ever will.

By multi carrier support the devs meant that the ROM works for several carriers as long as you flash the right one. It will be foolish move to flash the Verizon version of the ROM when have T mobile.

Thanks
Lol Thanks for clearing that up. I know that they use different networks cdma and HSPA I was just curious because they both used LTE 100 and the Verizon s3 uses the exact same micro sim as ATT for Lte. Much appreciated though I get the concept of multi carrier support now.

Verizon to Rogers

Hi y'all,
I was wondering if there are threads and guides in this forum to allow me to induce software changes to use a verizon s3 for use with Rogers in Canada. Hopefully HSPA+ data will work too :/
Thanks for any help my way, appreciate it

[Q] Super noob needs super help!!

So i got a verizon s3 from a friend since he updated to the s4 but im on tmobile and i was wondering if and how i could use it on the tmobile network. i have read that it is possible but i just dont know how to do it. any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
oh and ive already rooted my phone
thanks in advance!!
Search the development section for a thread titled "Set up Verizon Galaxy S3 as World GSM Phone" or another thread titled "Fully Working Verizon S3 n T-Mobile." You should only receive Edge data once it's fully working so you'll want a T-Mobile device if you want higher data speeds.

[Q] T-Mobile speeds on i727 running t989 ROM

I know, I know, I know, This topic sounds redundant but I've been searching and can't seem to find any specific info regarding my question.
I'm thinking about getting a Skyrocket and I know you can run t989 ROMs on the Skyrocket and I know the Skyrocket runs on T-mobile 3G/LTE. But my question is this: With a Skyrocket running a t989 based ROM can you get LTE and HSPA+DC 4G on T-Mobile? I've found more than enough sources of folks running CM ROMs or att based ROMs and getting 3G/LTE but I need the WiFi-calling feature that is only found on t989 based ROMs. Any help would be great!
BUMP!! I very much want to do the same. LTE on T989 ROM.

Are you going to use the t989 ROM because it is faster?

I think have answer for you and I think it's a no. At least for NYC. I know the LTE band uses the band that would occupy the band need in order to get the DC-HSPA speeds.
What that means is if you want LTE you can't have DC-HSPA since If I think they occupy the same band. and honeslty for me it doesn't matter since I have LTE in NY and it fastest than most home internet connections!

I would use it because of WiFi-calling. Where I work no one, not even Verizon has any coverage. But since we've got wifi here, my current t-mobile phone with wifi-calling rocks.

Thanks for the info! The area I live in an area that is weird... I can get the DC-HSPA+ in my home town...FINALLY but when I go to Phoenix I'd love to be on the LTE and I work in a canyon where no body works so I need the wifi-calling in the t989 ROM and don't want to shell out the coin for an S3 or S4 which is why I'm thinking about the S2 Skyrocket

Yeah honestly since you're with t-mobile. If you can get a tmobile branded S3, just for the LTE and WiFi calling, you would be better off IMO. The S4 isn't much of an upgrade to me. mostly software with a bigger screen if you ask me.
Hope that helps and give me a thanks if it does!

Sorry, just saw your reply. I'm using the t989 ROM because it has WiFi-Calling.

[Q] Galaxy s3 question

What's up everyone ...... Sorry to bother with a question that might been answered already but I kept searching and could not find a concrete answer to my question. Will anything happen to my Galaxy S3 if I put a T-Mobile rom. The reason why I am asking this question is because I have and AT&T S3 but is not connected to AT&T's network is connected to T-Mobile's network so I wanted to get the WIFI-Calling feature that tT-Mobile has in their S3 rom..... I do have a costum rom already on my s3 but I am not quite sure if there is a difference in chipsets between the different carriers that my affect my device if using the another rom from another carrier that is not its original carrier......
Thanks in advace for your support I will be waiting for your response. :good:

I don't know the answer but my question would be why would you want to do that? I'm on T-Mobile and except for this T-Mobile G2 I have always used an unlocked AT&T phone on T-Mobile. I get 4G LTE and certainly in the case of the G2, it is rootable whereas the KitKat T-Mobile G2 cannot be rooted (easily) and there is no recovery. I think you would be losing more than you gain by going to the T-Mobile rom if it is possible. Having said all that I'd certainly be interested to see how you get on if you can do it.
In the beginning of my tmo service I brought my gs4 over and just had to change/add APN settings. Still had to use Verizon ROMs, but had tmobile service. I would assume it would be about the same.

i actually wanna know the opposite of this. I got a Tmobile G-2 and am using it on AT&t (AIO Wireless techinically), but im getting super slow speeds. My DL is 1.1 and UL is 1.4 somehow. I havent rooted it yet because i have to RMA it back to LG due to the dead spot on the lcd issue. So after i get it back do i just need to switch the radio modem out to get on the at&t bands? Also would att roms work on my phone (d801)?
Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Double check the APN settings just to be sure. Also check different location / different time of the day. The speeds you list are HSPA so it seems you are connecting fine. I am on H2O (an AT&T MVNO) with a T-Mobile G2 and just measured 6.2 DL / 1.3 UL.
Double checked my apn and I'm all good there. Are you using a different radio? I'm still using the stock tmobil radio. I haven't been able to figure out what the issue is.

Well, this is what happened when I tried to do that. Whether it was just a bad ROM, or the ROMs are different because of e.g. slight differences in radio frequencies, I don't know. I do know, I'll never do it again -- that was the first time I've bricked a phone since having flashed my first ROM on the original Android, the Dream/G1. But YMMV.
On the other hand, there are ways to install features specific to TMO like boot animation/sound, wifi hotspot authorization, the TMO account app, and enabling wifi calling, to help "brand" it more T-Mobile. That's what I'm working on right now, in fact.
