I think the new Touchwiz launcher has ICS style folders! - Galaxy S 4 General

Not sure if this has been brought up before but I was watching this vid from Mobilearena HU on youtube. In the snapshot of the video you can clearly see folders similar to 4.0+ on the homescreen of the GS4. It always really bugged me that despite all the features that samsung put in touchwiz they still had folders like gingerbread. I use a Galaxy nexus now and I don't think I could live without the drag and drop folders. So glad that seems to be fixed now.
Just wanted to share in case this was an issue for anyone else. I am beginning to like the GS4 more and more...

Folders have looked like that on TouchWiz for a while (Maybe since Jelly Bean) but it hasn't been drag and drop like AOSP.

I actually hadn't noticed, but I did notice they looked pretty good!
I actually really like the touchwiz launcher tbh

ok my bad. I've never actually used touchwiz full time. I guess at least it looks ok. Hope they do have drag and drop though...

Blue Sea and Aurora - Samsung LWPs

Pulled these from the Tab 10.1 rom. I've seen these wallpapers before on Galaxy S phones, so they must be Samsung's Touchwiz UX counterparts.

Yes. I mentioned that in the OP. I had multiple tabs opened and didn't notice this was in the dev section until after I pressed submit.
Already PMed a mod to move it.
Any possibility you could take screenshots of what they look like?
(im lazy.. and im sure other people would appreciate it as well, thanks!)

well another dude said it worked on his sensation...
Nice but they are very laggy and slow down the homescreens...
Pixel rain is the best one I have tried yet, its just as smooth as a normal wallpaper.
Thanks..great work
I tried both of these on my Motorola Atrix, and they both worked. I'm running Gingerbread, if that makes any difference.
Thanks, I tried both and the blue sea is the only one working. Aurora just seems to be a white backgorund. Did i do something wrong here?
And @xZeDgEx what is the Pixel rain wallpaper and where did you get that at?
Nevermind I found pixel rain. Pretty cool.
Working on xperia arc as well

they are the stock ones yes i just played with them to make them pop a little better but yeah im a simplistic person so i am not going wild on this rom but it will be a bit different. I dont like crazy i actually enjoy cm10 and vanilla android so its not going to stray way too far.

L keyboard on 4.x.x?

Simple question, I've tried to install the apk normally and also place it in the /system/app folder with executable rights...no go.

Since I don't use gesture typing of any sort, the new keyboard simply brings a better UI (to me anyway) compared to the other stock keyboards. The ONLY gripe I would have is that there is no separation between keys, meaning it looks like one flat pad with letters and no lines. Looks/works beautifully though.

It's the exact same keyboard, it just adds an extra "theme" in Google Keyboard settings > Advanced > Color Scheme, named "Material". Choose that one.

Minimalist feel for Nexus 5.

Happy new year y'all, and that would mean happy me for having a new phone.
I have been an iOS user since iPhone 3G so I don't know much about Android, however I do know though that Nexus line is a stock Android OS. This would mean that there will be no bloatware installed.
For starter, how do I have a minimal theme for my phone? Do I need to root it, and/or install different ROMS? I prefer to have a stock ROM though. Will it doable?
Do I have to download themes or launchers or what?
Maybe something like this,

You can try a different launcher.
So launchers have nothing to do with a custom ROM?

They can do too.
This is one major difference you'll find with android. You can replace almost anything. Lock screens, keyboards, launchers....
There's a good thread in themes and apps where we share out homescreens. Worth looking there for inspiration. Some people use Zooper or uccw to make their own widgets too.
Okay great. Thank you!

More correctly, the Nexus line is stock Google. Granted, the stuff they add is a lot more useful than bloat the OEM/carrier can add but stuff you don't use is bloat regardless.

Ask for Default Application Each Use

Is there any way whatsoever to make it ask me what default app I want to choose each time. As in, the old Just Once/Alway complete action dialog?
I've tried Complete Action Plus. Doesn't seem to have any effect.

I'd love this too, but unfortunately I don't think there is. Sucks because I have to keep switching between Adobe and Write on PDF for my business. **** is annoying.

I just came across something last night that's a decent workaround for most things.
Better Open With (sorry, no link; new member) prompts you with it's own UI, which is still pretty intuitive. It works by having you set the default application for each intent it supports (which isn't a lot, but it's most) to itself. Then, when you open something, it will bring up it's own dialog box that's pretty similar to the old style.
It doesn't have as much customization as Complete Action Plus did, but it gets you 80% there.

I thought it was lollipop forced as well, but both my Note 4 and my Note 10.1 2014 are running 5.1.1 and give me the choice of running specific apps just once or always, could it be the Note 5?
