Hello everyone,
recently I flashed the Brazil Retail Jellybean, and at first it was all going very smooth. Much smoother than when I had the Telstra JB. But as of this last 4 days, I've been unable to connect to my wifi network. I still see some networks displayed, but mine is a hidden network and even though I already added it, it does not seem to connect to it.
Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?
Saludos,
Gustavo

Same problem for a European Rom.
I found a solution:
- Go to your wifi settings (where you can see wifi network)
- Try to make it "on" by pushing the button several times quickly
It should work after few try. It's the only way on stock rom actually.

[Q] Connection Problem: "authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful"
Hey there,
Whoever can solve this would most likely help many others out there.
I tried looking this up on google and on XDA, but there is no solution so far besides doing a factory reset.
I have been having a problem with my data network since yesterday, it doesn't connect to the internet at all. The LTE/4G sign is visible when I turn it on though, but none of the apps are able to connect.
WIFI works like usual, and that is the only way I can connect online with my phone at the moment.
There were some who said that the app "PDAnet" was the problem, and that you can reset the proxy settings, however, this option is only available for tablet versions.
I have:
A Galaxy Note i717 (with Telus)
[ROM/MOD][The Collective] Seraphim - First Flight - ICS
Kernel version: 3.0.8-perf-I717UCLC5-CL281649 [email protected] #1
Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.
Hm, internet seems to be working now.
All I did was wait, later through the day my phone was able to detect the data connection. There were no setting changes or anything, I just left my phone, made phone calls, send/receive texts; and all of the sudden, it worked.
For those who have a similar problem, I'm sorry that there is no quick solution as of now, but it seems like the network would eventually fix itself.
I hope that there are other solutions out there, if you happen to know any, please don't shy away from sharing.
Hi,
My friend and I have the same problem, both of us have the i717 running dagr8's ICS_CLC5_Alpha2 ROM. Everything was working perfectly until Thursday morning, everything looks like it should work, but it doesn't.
Telus wasn't able to help outside of being able to tell me that when they notice my phone register to the network, it only registers to voice and not data.
Luckily we keep nandroid backups of every ROM we run, and we found that the only ROM that worked perfectly was the stock ROM (no custom ROM GB or ICS worked). However, we did find that the Mozilla Nightly (or Aurora in my case) was able to access the internet on the ROMs that didn't work. My next step is to get Telus back on the line and have them check what they see when the Mozilla browser accesses the internet.
My buddy also ran a logcat, and found that the phone reported some problems while attempting to connect to the data network. I don't have the log, I'll see if I can get him to post it later.
I'm glad your connection is up and running, and it looks like my buddy's connection is working as of this morning, so hopefully mine will be back up shortly.
The fix is to clear the proxy entries under the Telus APN, did that this morning, and data has been working since then.
finaly thank u

Has anyone else experienced this? The update downloaded and installed just fine. All apps seem to run fine, just cannot connect to my wifi network. In fact it doesn't seem to even see any networks.
I did not have my device activated for a Verizon Data Plan, and when I try and go through the "Activate Device" process that fails as well.
Thanks

Which update did you apply, was it an OTA update or one you found someplace else either on XDA or grabbed from the web?
As far as I know the only working update for a 3g Xoom is going out OTA to testers, and no one has grabbed a link for the zip install, so what did you install?

I installed the OTA using the trick to stop Google Framework Services and force the update check.
Before I have you go and do a whole bunch of crazy stuff, let me ask the simple question...have you rebooted your tablet and tried WiFi again?
Also, just so I understand the exact problem, is it that WiFi won't turn on, or is it that it does turn on but just doesn't find any WiFi networks?
Seems okay here. Unrooted and relocked and manually applied updates one by one.

It's that it doesn't find any networks.
EDIT: works now, for some reason after the update wifi was set to 5GHz only and couldn't find any networks. Setting it to Auto resolves the issue. Strangely also the Verizon 3g works now as well.
Thanks for the responses.
wifi not working after Jelly Bean update
My Xoom tablet (Wi-Fi only) just got an OTA update to Jelly Bean.
The Wi-Fi network has stopped working. The network is found and shows as "saved". If I tell the tablet to forget the connection, it will re-save it but it will not process the "connect" command. I am trying to connect to an open hotel network while on business travel. I was connected to this network during the upgrade but now I can't reconnect. I've rebooted and it doesn't do anything different.
Also, when the tablet boots, it still displays the ICS splash screens but after it boots, it has all the new Jelly Bean features.
I am currently unable to use the tablet at all for networking since it does not have any cellular capability.
What now????
=========
UPDATE: After sitting with Wi-Fi turned off and sleeping for about 20 minutes, the Wi-Fi now is working. I didn't touch anything. Previously, it wouldn't load the network and I rebooted it at least 4 times. Weird. but now it's working so I'm happy...
I have trouble connecting to WiFi networks (once in 5 iteration) after updating p3100 to ICS 4.0.4. If the problem surfaces, I have to turnoff and turn-on the WiFi couple of times to make it work again.
I have seen this issue consistently with multiple WiFi network with different configurations (WPA, 802.1x, without security).
I am considering downgrading to ICS 4.0.3. Or could this be a hardware issue in my tablet ?
Suggestions please.
My tab 2 (P3100 on 4.0.4 via OTA) have similar behavior sometimes it will connect but other times it just shows connecting until i turn it off and on several times.
But one thing I notice this thing happens when I try to connect to my home router which use 'n' networks while using my mobile 3g router (b/g) it connects easily (that I've tried currently). Does your wifi networks use 802.11n or b/g?
I have the same issue with 4.0.3.I hope it is not hardware related.

My home router supports 'n'. But i have configured it to work only on b&g.
In my case I see this issue with b&g setup as well.
I have been chatting with 3 Samsung agents and none of them are able to fix my tabs, they just want me to fill out the service request form, give me a break,I received the tablets today. What a joke.

I have an interesting find.
Instead of just turning WiFi off and on, if you do 'forget SSID->WiFi off-WiFi on->Connect" there is no connection issue at all and it connects every time without any issue. Which makes me believe that it is a software issue.
I have got another update last week (P3100DDBLF3) and I am disappointed to see the issue exists yet.

Removing the SIM card and doing a factory reset will wipe out this issue.
But then again put your SIM card back and try to connect disconnect your WiFi, There you got the problem again
This looks more like WiFi, GSM-Nework co-existence issue. Samsung .......:cyclops:
I reckon that recently samsung re-deploy 4.0.4 update for gt-p3100 and its variant. Does it still have this issue?
i dont think it is because of the hardware. ive used to had this problem. since ive updated my device to 4.1.1 jelly bean. it works fine. connected to the wifi almost immediately after i push the button
Hello everybody,
I´ve got a big problem, wifi just doesn´t work on any wifi network, mobile data and others works great but wifi is not. I don´t know why, I´m running on official 4.3 update. Factory reset didn´t help me. Do you have any experiences with this kind of issue ?
Thanks !

Does your router have WPS option? If so, try that. Also, change Wi-Fi frequency band from Auto and try the 2 options. Make sure "Scanning always available" is unchecked, "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to Always.
What is the status of your home network on your phone? Do you actually see the network listed?

What's the ROM Version/Software Number? Are you WWE (401)?
Hello there,
Since yesterday i'm facing an issue with my Wi-fi. (i have a french Freebox Revolution, Wifi 2,4Ghz)
Both my N5 and Moto G 2014 are on Lollipop (5.1 / 5.0.2), and suddenly wifi became slow, i mean REALLY slow. I own an old Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 on custom rom with kitkat, and i have no trouble with my wifi. Same with my samsung tablet.
I tried different wifi channels, reboot, airplane mode, cache cleaning... but nothing seems to work.. i'm pretty sure it's a Lollipop problem as both my Lollipop devices have Wi-Fi trouble.
Anyone else facing the same issue here ?
Thanks
Having the same problem here. LTE network is fast. WiFi is slow to the point of unusable. All other devices on my network are fine. I captured packets off the phone using tpacketcapture last night. I need to review the pcap this morning. I'll post any thoughts.

Problem solved !!
In fact, ipv6 was enabled on my Freebox (Freebox is kind of modem/switch in france) and my internet provider has actually trouble with it.
I disabled ipv6 on the box and now it works. Lollipop use ipv6 by default, so this is perhaps why the problem was only on my lollipop phones.
we
So I tried out the ipv6 disable. Works like a charm.! Great find! Great solution.
I disabled ipv6 on my router. Web and network access is fast like normal.
Not same router. But same problem. Slow WiFi. Lte. Is fast. Other WiFi devices are fine.
Thanks!
