Changed sound notification whilst assigning an notification sound and selected file manager" Always" instead of my normal "Just once" option, now all my sound choices for any app go to file manager, I assume I just go to settings and change it back, but which one? cant find sound in Application manager to change it, probably stirring me in the face but just cant find it.
Search for your file manager and click reset standards.

Thanks quick reply, sorted just cleared defaults in file manager, I was looking inside out at the problem, did not think to look at the app causing the issue, was looking at the system controlling the sound. lesson learnt.
Thanks again

Through Sounds and Notifications. If you want to get customised sounds on your system, you can place them on your SD card or copy into Windows directory, then select through Sounds and Notifications under Notifications tab, just select SMS from a pull down menu, tick Enable Sound and select the sound you want.
Thanx for your response, but it doesn't what I mean. What I mean is when you sent sms, it will appear notification SMS SENT bubble with sound. Now how to change this sound of sms sent notification. Please reply.

Guys,
I van change this stuff, with reg edit go to
HKCU
Control panel
Notifications
Default
Wave
Then edit with the extension of "wav" or Mp3 sounds that what you want
ex. /Windows/alarm2.wav
or what ever you want..
The sent notifications would annoy me no matter what they sounded like, which is probably the reason I disabled the whole thing in Advanced Config. But thanks for the tip, might be useful to someone.
stupid answers
why cant people in this forum, in general, not just answer the question straight away, instead of giving stupid opinions which are not needed anyway? thanks for coming up with the solution the the poster of the tip how to change notification sound. been searching for this for months now.

Don't think we have the need for the replies of the kind you posted either. Ironic, isn't it?
Calm down everyone... This has been posted everywhere.
Use any registry editor, go to:
hkcu\controlpanel\notifications\default\wave
then edit the string by changing to your desired msg tone inside the windows root directory
for example change the default to any wave file you have...
I'm new and tried googling and all for this problem. I installed a custom rom (miri) and froyostone android and for some reason I can't select a ring tone or any other sound setting.
My phone calls work fine and all other sounds do to. What is the reason I can't select a ring tone?
I tried to download the media folder and still nothing.
go to the app store and search for free ringtone programs. install one and pick a ringtone and it should let you pick it then.

Didn't work.
If I go to sound settings, click on phone ringtone, there's nothing there. I can't select anything either.

Yea, I got the 1 ringtone I downloaded to show, just not the others. I will try the other option. I'll post back.
sorry, I don't play much with android. Looks too much like ios to me and didn't really have any advantages for what I use the phone for everyday.
That second option did it. I read you had to put the media folder in the root. I didn't know it meant the root of android folder. Thanks for the help. It's much appreciated.
its a folder titled media that you have to put in the android folder when you start it up.
Usually when I select a doc file it will ask me for different app to open, now the screen just gray out with no prompt menu to ask me. This goes for all other file associations, such as browser and music player. I'm unable to open any file at all now. Thanks in advance.

Known Honeycomb bug. Just rotate your screen (e.g., landscape to portrait) making sure auto rotate is enabled in settings. The dialog box will then pop-up.
I really hope Google fixes this bug soon.
I would love to see a count as to how many times this has been asked and answered in these forums alone.

I was going to point the OP to your new Moray thread, but decide that it would be more trouble to explain than just answer, lol.
wow thanks! I guess I didn't have the right keyword. Last time this happened I had to format it.

ringtone
notification sount
alarm
Thanks for your answer!
Notification sound is what you want
Sent from my Desire S using XDA
oke i found it, now i see default notification, message, calendar and email. But now i'm stuck, i don't find how to use a personal sound. All the sounds are from HTC and when i click get more i'm automatically redirected to "notifications from htc hub".
grtz and thanks for the reply
Dude...
Use a file explorer, navigate to your sound files location, long press it and select "use as notification" or something like that. From now on it will be also in your sound list (personalize etc...)
Sent by my fingers to your head.
Use file explorer with root and copy the mp3 you want to system/media/audio/notifications reboot the phone and you will see that your copied file is now there to be selected under default notifications/messages .

we've all been there, Glad you got it, it seems that different Roms have different ways of doing this
Hi folks,
Received the device and so far I experienced some bugs, issues.
Own ringtone can't set, no matter how I tried. # temporary solution: installed third party music player and set the ringtone through.
In file manager if I choose a folder to delete, system ask for confirmation by fingerprint reader and close the app immediately.
Can't choose other themes, there is only 1 theme in the folder(looks like the themes app /theme manager app missing)
Battery management seems very beta stage.
Social media apps behaving very strange, it's definitely the issue of the phone.
By pressing delete all button, it redirects back to the last used application instead of deleting all apps running in the background.
Thinking about to reset the device completely and see how it performs.
Off topic but where did you buy your Find X2 Pro and for how much?

I don't think, this are bugs.
For own ringtone go to settings, sounds, ringtone, select from files. On my Find X2 it works great.
Delete folder: at mine, just select and delete. No fingerprint nessesary.
For themes: Settings, start screen & backgrounds, set background. There's also an app at playstore special for oppo themes.
Other isseus you write.......... everything runs great on my find X2. Did you do hardreset allready ?

To set any ringtones/messages/default I still can't select from files. Even if I select it won't "stick".
What's the app in playstore for Oppo themes?

You didn't understand me. I used the path to set the desired sounds for ringtones(choosed from files) didn't work. Same result with messages and default sounds. To choose anything from files doesn't seemed to work.
That's you Choice. Why don't you prefer to set this in your settings ?
