Bricked? but can use ADB cold boot - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone !! I´m new at the forum.
I have a TF300T that was working with the Surdu_petru´s ROM 10.4.2.13,
Today I decided to move to the latest ASUS firmware 10.6.1.8, first I flashed with fastboot the TWRP 2.4.4.0 and went fine.
Then I flashed the Official ASUS ROM, wipe cache and dalvik cache and did factory reset, after that I flashed with this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39084944&postcount=64 (Deodex US version).
When I rebooted everything was excellent but I noticed that I didn´t have root neither busybox installed, so I rebooted and tried to enter to TWRP, the TWRP gave me the issue that it couldn't mount partitions I flashed twice by fastboot and the same happened.
Obviously as a noob vv .. I took a dumb decision and I flashed to CWM Recovery, and well now I have a Tf300T that only boots to CWM recovery and doesn´t mount partitions, no Sdcard, no internal memory.
Every time it reboots, it goes to CWM , in there it let me use ADB (with a weird name:0123456789abcdef Recovery) and Fastboot (but it doesn´t flash things right, it seems that it gets freeze when I flash things).
And if I do a cool boot linux... Android boots and i´m able to work fine in the OS :/ ...
I have been reading for almost 8 hours, and I couldn´t fine a solution, please can somebody give me some help. I´m frustrated and really disappointed X_x
Thanks for taking the time for reading all my problem. Best Regards !!

AFAIK you have the same bricks as plenty others here, because of installing CWM (if I am right, it's not compatible with 4.2.1 yet), you had to flash TWRP recovery, which was created for 4.2.1 usage.
Anyway I am afraid that there is so far no solution for this problem, sorry to say that...

cannot use recovery after JB

I can get into recovery but after that then to android with red exclamation or usb fastboot screen or fdr screen cold boot. Once I get to red x andy I can go no further. Tried all combo of button pushes and will not go to blue menu for clear cache partition fdr or re start. I am trying to clean cache . It just sits at Andy then after about 5 Min's tab reboots by itself. Have tried about 6 times same thing happens each time, Any idea what is happening or what I am doing wrong or is recovery clean cache partition gone? Thanks
Other wise JB install went smooth no problems and tab is working well . seems smoother . Also kept root with voodoo.
Same here...
I had this same issuethis once, after update with the same intention, was considering either clear cache or to do a full wipe from that level as opposed to doing it through settings. Almost had a stroke u I saw the animated android with the famous (or rather infamous red triangle) Ended up using the one in Backup and Restore in system settings. Think I will try this again, since this concerns me. Anyone else seeing this? If recovery is broken in JB, we have another wait on out hands. Sigh
ditto, starting to see a trend...
Same here, I've had no luck getting past the initial stock recovery screen. Not good.
When you flash OTA update you lose custom recovery.
i have custom recovery installed on JB but it is useless. nothing wants to mount.

I am using Asus stock recovery. When I got tablet it was on .22 rooted tab everything ok. got ota for .26 kept root all ok still could get into recovery got .30 ota kept root again with voodoo. everything o k got into recovery wiped cache no problem. got JB ota everything ok tried to get into recovery and my above post happened? I am confused as to how jb is now custom recovery versus all other otas. What has turned from stock recovery to custom recovery

I kept root with OTA Root Keeper. So I was able to reflash TWRP from Goomanager. But anyway it cannot mount either the internal storage nor the microSD card. There seems to be no working recovery for JB, yet.

That's not entirely accurate... if you mount /system in twrp, you will see externalSD is mounted instead. Kind of goofy. Messed me up good, since I expected to install supersu through recovery. Now I have no root and no useful recovery! Anyone know the mount point cure?

I like a few others was stuck at the infamous red triangle with no way to get into TWRP. Lost custom recovery. Did the above mentioned in fastboot and was able to flash CWM and then was able to flash Supersu via CWM. Got me out of a jam, unfortunately missed the opportunity to NVFLASH on .26, had already upgaded to .30

TouchScreen stopped working Tf300t

Hi i'm new to all of this but after reading a lot i decided to root my asus Tf300t and instaled a recovery ( CWM).
i instaled a custom rom ( cleanrom 3.4.2) and everything was working good ,but i decided to flash the Unters kernel for Tf 300T.
It reboots and a message appears Android is upgrading Panel Firmware 0%. After that Touch Screen never worked again .
I tried reinstalling cleanrom , stock rom downloaded from Asus Website WW_epad 10_4_2_20 was flashed with fastboot without
results. I do not know what to do next , any help is really appreciated.

This happened to me once. You must make sure that the CWM you installed is for JB, not ICS. Even then, CMW might give you problems. I tried to flash the stock rom you mentioned (10_4_2_20) from CWM recovery without success. I extracted the above ROM twice in my laptop. First try gave another zip file*. The second time would create a folder with a blob file inside. I transferred that blob to the platform-tools folder. Went to CMD (run as administrator) in Windows, then to the platform-tools folder, and issued the following commands:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash staging blob
took a few minutes to finish (rebooted a few times if my recollection serves me right. You might want to check other threads for accuracy). Once done, type:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
You're done. Custom recovery has been overwritten. If you want TWRP, you can install it again with ADB. Hope this helps.
* I've been flashing this zip file with TWRP recovery without encountering any glitches.
Thanks for your quick reply. Did what you told me but without success.
I forgot to say that the first time I loaded the stock rom 10_4_2_20, automatically lost the CWM recovery and as I have no dock can not even have
access to anything. Also I can not load the recovery again.
I talked to ASUS support and postage plus diagnosis is 50 € plus the cost of repair. And if I choose to send it to ASUS, the pad is locked again.
I do not know what to do anymore.
:crying:
What do you think I can do more?

If this thing doesn't boot and you've no access to custom recovery, I can't suggest anything more. Sorry. Does it show in windows as fastboot device? What does ADB say when you type the command?
I do not think you understood well, I can do the boot, the touchscreen does not work after having appeared "Android is updating Firmware Panel 0%."
As I do not have a dock, the pad stays at the initial settings menu when a new rom is flashed because touchscreen do not work.
My problem is only the touchscreen .
And now because i flashed stock rom i lost recovery and from now on i can not enable install from insecure locations in android .
For that reason the pad w'ont let me install another recovery again.

Evidently, I have a hard time making out what you're saying. For instance, this: "from now on i can not enable install from insecure locations in android.." What are insecure locations in Android? Beats me.
In short, you're right. The reason I gave directions was that I thought you were asking for a way to flash stock ROM (104220), which apparently you already had ("..because i flashed stock rom i lost recovery..."). If you already have the latest stock ROM on, then I totally misunderstood. Forget I ever said anything.
Thanks for trying to help me.What i mean with unknown sources is an option in Android settings - Security-allow programs install from unsecure locations
I think this is more clearly now.

That setting in android has nothing to do with flashing a recovery from fast boot. Can you get to fastboot? Yes? Then you can flash a recovery from a PC.
there a new update rolling just wait
it may fix your problem first go back to stock
Yes i can use fastboot but if i try to flash a .IMG recovery it gives me always error, but if i flash stock blob files it goês OK .That's why i thougt that was necessary to enable install apps from unsecure locations.
OK i went to stock but touch screen still not working.
try cold booting 2 times
Tryed cold boot 5 times.Didn't work.I think that the problem is with painel driver .I want to know if driver is loaded with ROM or not.
This is solved. I sent the tablet to ASUS and they despite being unlocked, solved the problem without any cost, because it was not a root cause
that this happened, and activated the Asus warranty. I must say they were very honest and professional.
Congratulations ASUS.:good:

[Q] Urgent!! Need Help!! No ROM is booting :(

Hi there!
Few days back I had a problem of low internal memory. I posted the problem, got some responses, then followed cute prince's Nandroid restoring tutorial. Flashed the latest Cm9, all was working fine. Then again needed a change (I'm kinda flashaholic ), wiped / reset my phone thru TWRP recovery (whatever is the procedure) and was unable to flash any single rom onwards. Tried to flash stock rom, even tried to restore my 6 months old cwm recoveries, but nothing boots up. I also tried to flash boot.img thru fastboot and flash the rom consequently but it too didn't work.
Now, I have no rom on my explorer except getting to bootloader, fastboot, TWRP or Clockworkmod recoveries. I can't do the nandroid restore as told by cute prince, now.
So I would have to post again here in the forum for the above problem. Here, what I need is to find out about what went wrong actually and what is the solution to the problem!! I hope am not talking about bricking the phone or something.
An urgent reply is highly appreciated, please
Regards.

How can I get root and custom ROMming back?

Hi
At the weekend I tried to update my TF300T from CM10.1 to CM10.2. That didn't work as I ended up in a boot loop. Then I thought, maybe I need to flash the latest system blob.
So I did that, only to find that I then couldn't install anything from zip or sd card as the recovery would not mount anything at all. Still got fastboot, so I've tried TWRP 2.6. TWRP 2.5, TWRP 2.4 and CWM, none of them will mount anything at all.
So I find myself with stock ROM, but no way of rooting or installing any custom ROMs.
I'm sure I've made a bloop somewhere, so all suggestions to resolve welcome!
Thanks
Rob
What is your bootloader? Sometimes, if you reflash the same recovery, it *may* work properly the second time around.
I am using TWRP 2.6 with my 127.5 bootloader, just for your knowledge.

That was the tip I needed - I knew I had the right bootloader but I had downloaded the wrong TWRP (I had flashed the JB version instead of the 4.3 version). Doh!
Now flashed CM10.2 and is running Android 4.3. CPU-Z tells me I'm rooted though at the moment I can't get any root apps to work with SuperSU. I'll leave that for another day!

[Q] CM11 Stuck on Bootloader

Attempting to get CM11 onto my Razr HD Maxx.
Steps I've taken:
Flashed CMW 6.0.
Enter Recovery
Format /system
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe delvik cache
Install CM11/gapps
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe delvik cache
Reboot system
Then it goes to the Warning Bootloader Unlocked screen and stays there.
Edit: I saw another thread where the user had a similar issue, but I cannot follow how they solved the problem.
Edit2: Backups aren't being flashed correctly either it looks like. Not sure if there is a way to put any new files onto the phone in its current state. If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it very much. Possibly just bricked the phone :/

I had a similar problem. I ended up having to flash the recovery several times via ADB and iirc it was Philz recovery that finally worked for me. Ironically i had to even use a different ROM initially to get it to take the recovery and boot and then was able to switch over to CM11 (the recovery kept reverting to an earlier version of CMR) This was when 6.0.4.4 had just come out so that may not be what you're running into
Make sure you also have a compatible Gapps. Also try another rom just to be sure its working. Currently i've got SlimKat going and they have an updated Gapps package. Its pretty similar to CM11 in overall feel so start there to make sure your recovery is working

I'm going to try to do the AP Fastboot/ADB with Philz recovery. I haven't done this in a while so I wasn't sure if there was a general guide to do so. Downloading motorola drivers to my laptop right now, then I'll be attempting to flash via ADB.
No luck trying to ADB. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but the command prompt pops up for half a second and then disappears. Getting frustrated with this phone and have no idea what to do.
Can't say i've seen a guide lately on this but its a simple thing.
Put the recovery you downloaded like "philz_touch_6.19.3-xt926.img" in the same folder as your adb.exe
start a command prompt as administrator (right click it)...that part is important
get the phone in fastboot (hold down power + vol down) and connect by usb
enter the command "fastboot flash recovery philz_touch_xxxxxxx.img
unplug and reboot the phone to recovery and see what you get

Using the MiniADB here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28035617&postcount=10&nocache=1&z=1115106963552534
I am still not getting any luck. I run adb.exe as administrator, command prompt pops up for 1/2 second, disappears. I then run RunMe as administrator. This brings up command prompt up, I type "fastboot flash recovery philz_touch_6.19.3-xt926" hit enter.
This comes back: error: cannot load "philz_touch_6.19.3-xt926"
Edit: Disregard the post. I got it to flash philz recovery. I am in Philz Recovery right now. I am going to wipe, etc. Then re-flash the rom.
Edit2: After wiping and flashing the rom/gapps I am still stuck on bootloader. The files I'm using are:
cm-11-20140130-NIGHTLY-xt926-epinter.zip
gapps-kk-20131118.zip
If you have suggestions on trying different release or gapps, or any other ideas let me know.
Edit3: Whenever I flash the ROM it comes up "install from sd card complete". Then however it says "Cannot write to /sdcard/clockworkmod/.last_install_path Press any key to continue. No clockworkmod/aromafm.aromafm.zip in storage paths.

the best way is if you have an USB Micro SD card reader. far far easier. Other than that you can use ADB to push the files over but you'll have to find the commands as i don't know them off-hand

Okay, I'm gonna try to use ADB. Not sure why but ADB always has trouble recognizing my phone. Haven't gotten around that quirk which I think is also the reason I was having trouble getting Philz to flash.
Edit:Not sure how I did it, but I mounted my SDCard in recovery, and it connected to my computer and was able to copy everything fairly easily.
Edit2: Still stuck on the bootloader screen :/
Edit3: I've done everything again: fastboot'd Philz recovery, wiped everything, installed CM11, flashed gapps, wiped data/cache. Rebooted and still get stuck in bootloader. No idea what step is next, or if I should just try to install a different rom.
Is it possible my phone is bricked?
So after having no luck with CM11 or Philz touch recovery, I flashed CWM and tried to flash CM11 again. No luck, so I tried flashing SlimKat. No luck with that either.
Really clueless atm about what to do.

Slim should be pre-rooted, just enable it in Dev options or you can flash a SU .zip on recovery.
How's it working out for you? Any luck?
Stuck after 4.4.2 root and unlock
I'm having the same issue described above, however I rooted with towelroot. I unlocked the bootloader and am running twrp 2.7. I've only tried to install CM11, but it just freezes at the boot splash, and cycles through that until I shut it down.
If it matters, I originally rooted a year ago through the first unlock found by Dan rosenberg. I ran CM11 until this most recent root was found, and then I flashed the stock kit kat so I could get the updated antenna software.
