Anyone see this? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

So I don't normally check goo, as most Sense ROMs aren't on it and I'm more of a Sense guy, but I just randomly looked at it today and saw a link to ChameleonOS and I was like "What's this?" so I Googled it an found their site. Is this something brand new, or am I just late to the party?

It's brand new. But you're also kinda late to the party.

I tried it, not my personal favorite ROM but not bad

So what android version is it? It doesn't say on their site. Guess I can flash without gapps and see so I can download correct gapps.

CM10 thoughts

I just the latest nightly build of CM10 and its great, project butter is definitely present! After running a few benchmark test i notice that CM10 "apparently" runs slower than stock ICS with since overlay. Haven't used it enough to talk about the battery life in comparison to stock either.
I just simply want to ask is there a reason that CM10 runs slower than stock?

It is missing hardware vsync. Apparently while working on what broke the builds since 10/12 they have made significant progress towards hardware vsync unexpectedly.

[Q] [noob] Best Rom?

Hi, mitchel0 here
I just recently got my first android phone, the at&t USA HOX. Since A root exploit was just found, and I really want jellybean, I was wondering what the current best rom for this phone is. I have no prior experience in android and am a noob. I am looking for functionality, stability, compatibility, and battery life, so please recommend me what the current best is. Thanks!
P.S do i need to flash a radio, or do roms come with those? If I do, what radio? Thanks!
If you rooted from 2.20 you can't flash a radio.
There is no "best" Rom. Go flash and experiment
Best rom threads are against the rules as wellm

ROM selection is a personal preference. What works for one person, may not for another. Because of this, "best rom" threads really serve no.purposem The best way to find out what ROM will work for you, is to research, flash, and experiment.

How to fix LTE bars reading incorrectly on Sense based ROMs

Credit goes to XsMagical for being the first person (to my knowledge) to figure out the problem with the bars and for slippers67 for posting how everyone else can change this in the ViperXL thread, I'm just posting a new thread so people don't have to dig through the ViperXL thread.
So, I've seen a few people complaining that when they are on LTE their bars read too low. I've experienced this on CleanROM 5.1 and ViperXL 3.0/3.1. This is a very simple fix if you have the same "problem" that many others have
1. Navigate to /system/customize/buildflag
2.Open buildflag
3. Change it to 152
4. Reboot
Note: If your buildflag is already 152, you have a separate problem. Try flashing a different radio.
I feel like slippers67 came up with this...you should give credit where its due...

If you post a link I will be more than willing to amend the OP. I searched that thread and saw that there was this problem on that ROM, however I could not find the solution posted anywhere
FYI for Telstra users if you change the buildflag it will no longer display 4G when connected to LTE - it will say LTE instead.
Here the link to the thread, I don't know exactly how he didn't it but its integrated into the Rom.It's located under the goods on the 14 of - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29318761

ViperXL

Hello everyone, I'm Edward. You can call me Eddy.
So today I just rooted my phone. Before I had an Android, I had an iPhone. I jailbroke that and loved it. I was quite hesitant before rooting my One X. Didn't want to screw anything up. Though today, I really needed to change my carrier text on my phone. It got really annoying. So I had then went about to rooting my phone and although there were a few ups and downs, I must say I don't regret doing it.
Anyways, I tried almost everything after I rooted my phone to change my carrier text but nothing worked... until I posted a thread and a member told me or showed me about ViperXL. I read through the whole thread and I installed it the next minute.
I must say after around an hour of using this, I am totally in love with it. It has all the extra features and customizations I needed for my One X.
I must say, great job Team Venom for creating Viper XL. I am in love. Anyways, great job and keep up the great work! :good:

usb mount for viper xl JB
Tried viper xl 3.2.5, and was very impressed, but flashed back to 2.4 after fighting with MTP and hating it. Any chance we will be able to have USB mount back in a future update of the JB version?

The one xl has a very talented crew of devs; we are fortunate. Check out the original android development section too.
I personally find that viper xl suits my habits the best, but I've tried almost every Rom and kernel that are more or less current and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of them.

Tell me about it.
I went through hell on my last flash as I wanted a really good backup with accurate last modified dates. Using MTP, FTP, etc all screw that up.
In the end I found an app called "Samba Filesharing" that, as the name indicates, provides a Windows file share on your network. I then just copied off the SDCARD. While it takes a while, it allowed me to an accurate backup.
Been running ViperXL for a few weeks now. It is awesome. Many thanks to Team Venom.

Best ROM questions aren't allowed on XDA. Each user has their own tastes and needs, so what's right for one may not necessarily be right for another. Have a look in the Original Android Development section, there's plenty to choose from.
