It is a dual-SIM 3G enabled smartphone that comes with a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen and runs on OS-Jelly Bean 4.1.1. It is powered with 1GHz Dual core mediatek 6577 processor and 512MB RAM. Sporting a hi-res 960X540 IPS touchscreen display with pinch-to- zoom, the phone has a hi-definition 8MP rear view camera and 1.3MP front camera for video calling through SIM. The device provides ample data storage space with 1.93 GB internal memory which is expandable upto 32 GB via a micro SD card.
One of the most interesting features of the phone is its portability with Wi-Fi hot spot/wireless router by turning on its Tethering/Hotspot option. It can also connect with other Bluetooth enabled devices for data transfer or internet usage. The phone is equipped with sensors namely Light sensor, Motion sensor, G Sensor and Proximity sensor which allows the user to adjust brightness of the screen, detects and turns off the screen during calls etc. This in-turn controls the outflow of infrared rays and also saves battery at the same time.
Some of the features include pattern lock security, face lock, Live wallpapers, file manager, flip mute, smart screen capture, Whatsapp, Facebook, Google maps, Youtube, PlayStore, Nimbuzz, Skype, Google+ etc. The phone is backed by a strong 1800 mAH battery which gives you a talktime of 3.5 hours and a standby of upto 72 hours.

If your cache is different then your stock rom may be different,because with the help of cache file i took backup with mtk droid tool.I have zip file of stock rom but i have to taste it then i will post.Maybe we will get lewa os rom soon...

Don't know ... but you can join their facebook page, you will see their development, I saw that they are porting Lewa OS.
I think CM10, is too much work.
But Wiko posted source Kernel for ICS 4.0.4, I hope they will publish source Kernel for 4.1.1, when they make the update.

If the kernel sources are there then it is easy work but i read somewhere;not all sources are released but we can try to port cm10.tomorrow i will try to test stock rom zip file then upload it.Lewa rom based on Ics or Jelly bean?

LewaOs for JB, will be out soon, it think because they have posted some capture on their facebook page.
I have tried the ROM from Intex on the Wiko, but like with A888 JB ROM:
- dual core seems not working.
- and with the intex ROm, GPS is also not working on Wiko Peax.
edit: I have ported LewaOS 4.1.2 to Wiko Peax, and strange thing, dual core seem Ok on it but camera is not working

What i did was cook it with Android Kitchen, add Root & Busybox & thats it, clean pre-rooted Factory ROM that can be install with any custom recoveries to any N9776...
Pls make sure you have the correct 4-in-1 Combo Chip before installing...
Having said that, pls pls make a nandroid backup first before installing it as it replace the boot.img & system partition... :fingers-crossed: If you don't like it then you can any time roll it back via nandroid restore...
Please also make sure you have 100% the same device or you will end up like them here ! ( That is including me... No worries, TP has been identified here )
Its very unique for Ulefone Star N9776 that comes with a plastic perspex holder for the device... It also has the Ulefone label at the bottom of this holder...

Steps
1. Settings -> Location Services -> Turn off GPS, EPO, A-GPS.
2. Use any Root Explorer & delete /data/misc/mtkgps.dat
3. Reboot your phone.
4. Go out into the open
5. Enabled in GPS, A-GPS, EPO -> Download ( if you don't use 3G data, you can use Wi-Fi too )
6. Dial * # * # 3646633 # * # * will bring you to the MTK engineering menu , select YGPS. Go to Information tab & click Full, and then Cold, then A-GPS restart. Go back to the Satellite tab and wait for the signal to be recorded (this may take a few minutes & up to ten minutes on the first setup).
6. Exit & start any GPS software & you will get 23870ms or less GPS fix

it turns out that there are emergence of cheaper version of N9776 & i thought to myself how the price dropped so fast & it turns out that it is indeed the cheaper version MT6575...
MT6575 is Pin-to-pin compatible with MT6577 so some clever manufacturer instead of upgrading, they are downgrading N9776... :laugh:
So pls make sure & don't just flash blindly, this JB ROM update is only for MT6577...

However, i didn't do a 100% test on it as i switch back to my own ported Lewa OS, love the Lewa ui better than JB...
AFAIK, there are 2 version of hardware for N9776, ov5647 that uses MT6620 & 9p017 uses 6628, which hardware do you have

Thank you for answer. It's true, ROM is stable and fast but that damn wifi. My friend bought this phone in January 2013 so it should be with newer hardware. Hardware version number can be found in Engineering menu right? I'll check it.
Do you know anything about kernel source codes for MTK6577? I can't find any. :crying:

Only Alcatel publish their MT65xx source code (ICS not JB) but i'm afraid it might not be compatible for use on our N9776... :fingers-crossed:
AFAIK, OT_997D_20121228.tar.xz is one of the MT6577, rest you have to google for it...

Tried porting JB ROM to my Lenovo A789 since last year, non booted up so you guys can forget about it... Sorry if it sound disappointing... :laugh:
Even latest LeWa_ROM_AMOI_N820_JB doesn't boot on N9776 JB boot.img but it does show logcat activities & died...

Hi, you need to recalibrate the light sensor, under settings, display, als_ps calibration. place your finger over the sensor at the top to the right of the speaker and hit calibrate. hope this helps.
On a different note, does anyone know how to repartition the nand so as to ditch the internal SD? The old ways don't work....

No, it feels a lot smoother to me. camera is definately better. battery life a lot better also. no more problems with ram than i had on ics. However, dont like the fact that you have two signal bars, whereas in ics if sim2 was missing it would hide the second signal meter. it was an arse to root and i cant seem to repartition it!

What do you mean? I never saw second signal bar to ger removed when no sim inserted, in any mediatek phone

This Rom isn't rooted? How did you root it? I root any mtk6577 ics or jelly bean phone with root by binary or zhuodashi.
ICS hid the second signal meter if no sim was inserted on the N9776.
Binary ect doesn't work, you have to cook cwm recovery and flash that way. there is a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764

This is the first custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 based on stock kernel. In this thread you'll find all my custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 / Prestigio Multiphone 5000 DUO (MT6577). Please be sure to read this carefully in order to avoid unnecessary questions.
Do not mirror my files, as I will always make sure links are working. Instead, please share the link to this thread.
V2 Update:
My main goal with this update is to share a ROM with improved battery efficiency and stability. Also, I pretend to share some of my ROMs which are supposed to be pretty stable and thoroughly tested. So, here you won't find state-of-the-art and feature-rich builds (like MIUI or LEWA), but builds which are more stock and patched with (or without) everything possible to make it more efficient.

· Based on official Android 4.0.4 ROM (LAVA release: LAVA_IRIS501_S105_20121219; Stock kernel)
· Kernel 3.0.13
· Removed all trial applications and gapps which can be downloaded from Play Store
· Changed boot animation
· Replaced camera app with stock ICS camera
· Fixed mms app (Sender photo issue)

You have done an outstanding work by this mod. Still there is unlimited scope further. Try porting some JB. Camera is unsatisfying. would like to revert back to stock cam.Battery life has increased 20/25%. Ring volume has decreased. UC browser unable to start(its lite edition works).Boot animation is awsome. Free ram has increased.

UC browser is working fine for me. Even the HD one is working perfectly. And yes i have slightly decreased the UI sound. Ring volume is same as before. Even camera is also the same stock camera but with different icon.
Porting jelly bean is only possible if we have JB kernel for our device. I tried MIUI rom (ICS based) on iris 501. Its was working fine but had some issues that is the reason i haven't uploaded it here..
You are the only hope to improve this amazing phone. Eagerly awaiting your next amendment/update.

Y do u want to root your device? There is no custom ROM available for iris 454. And stock kernel does not support over clocking. Rooting is of no use!

There is no link for stock ROM. Lava does not even provide driver. And u expect the link for stock ROM? :silly:
This ROM is also stock with minimal changes and few bug fixes. Or you can say its a bug free stock ROM

Hey, here is a Jelly Bean kernel for LAVA iris 501. I tried it MMX A110 and ZTE Grand X ROM. And i was able to successfully boot into the device. There was problem with RIL (mobile network), WiFi, BT and Camera. But over all responsiveness of device was great. If anyone would like to develop his own JB ROM, he can get the kernel from HERE . .

Follow only the first post. Don't flash cwm recovery. That is not for your device.
Im prepring custom rom for lava based on ics... with many mods powe menu, extended settings... framework changes not dat uot see ma sig for prev roms... i want ur permission for posting... i used ur rom because its fully stock... easy for me to countinue....

So ahead. But instead of modifying this stock ROM, i would suggest u to port Jelly Bean. I have already posted the working kernel. U only need to find drivers for BT and WiFi.
And another help i need is that i want to increase the size of system partition. Find out a tool which will work for iris 501. System partition size is of around 460 MB. And i want to extend it to about 520 - 540 MB. I have a working JB ROM but i am not able to flash it because of small partition size. So find out a way to increase the size of partition and then our device will also run on Jelly Bean :good:

STEPS
1. DOWNLOAD ROM
2. REBOOT IN RECOVERY
3. GO ADVANCE AND FORMAT SYSTEM , DATA AND CACHE
4. SELECT INSTALL ZIP (PROJECT PURE XPERIAUI FINAL.ZIP )FROM SD CARD , FOLLOW INSTRUCTION IN AROMA INSTALLER AND FLASH ROM
5. REBOOT (1st Boot Might take upto 3 Minutes So don't panic)
6. Restore your IMEI no. with mobileuncle tool or MTKDROID tool (optinal )
NOTE1:
After 1st boot You MUST Do the Following: It'll Prevent 90% of the Problems You'll Face Otherwise
Goto Settings>Storage> Preferred Install Location
Select Device Memory there
And Select DEFAULT MEMORY TO WRITE as SD Card
NOTE2;
After every reboot you might see a dialog box
Saying that default app Storage changed to SD Card
Ignore It !!!!!
NOTE3:
DOLBY is pre-configured in the rom
All you need to do is open the app

Step. 3
Go to settings> PureXperia Settings> tap On-Screen Softkeys, wait for analizing> tap enable button, allow root permission. Reboot
Step. 4
Repeat step. 3, reboot
Now you can Enable/disable softkeys navigation via settings

How To Change Battery Style in the ROM?
A- See Settings> Personalization > Status bar Battery
Styles. Make Sure to Check on "Charge Animations" in
case of Styles that Do not Have names beginning with
"Xperia"
Camera Crashing in the ROM?
1.Make sure that Your Storage has Enough Space left.
2. Make Sure to change Settings > Storage > Default
Write Memory to SD Card
Xposed/ Gravity Box not working?
Make sure that all Xposed apps are in Internal
memory and not sd card and update again.
Goto settings>apps and Move Xposed and Gravity Box
or all other modules to Internal Memory.
Run Xposed and in Frameworks again Run "INSTALL/
UPDATE" and reboot.
Now just UNCHECK Gravity Box and RE-CHECK Gravity
Box and reboot.
Problem with any 3rd party app?
Make sure it's in Internal storage and not sd card
Wipe data of the app if still happens
Camera shows 6MP instead of 13MP?
change preview mode from full screen to 4:3

Simply replace camera and audio lib with your stock rom and also go to settings /storage and change read and write storage to sd card

1.Camera app not working.
Some graphic problem on upper right corner of many apps such as file explorer, settings & 2.themes app.
3.Weather app not working.
4.Some wired problem with keyboard when we try to erase any word longer then 3 alphabets in it.
5.Prevent pocket dials not working.

.......you need to patch the cam .. you may also have to patch for sound to achieve excellent sound output..

1) Download ROM zip File below link
2) Put into External/Internal SD Card
3) Go To CMW Recovery
4) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Wipe Cache
6) From Advance Menu Do Delvik Cache Clear
7) Go in Mount And Storage select FORMAT SYSTEM
8) Select Install From SD and Select file And Click YES
9) Select ROM zip And Select YES
10) Reboot
11) Congrats You have Rom now....Report if you find bugs

I love miui rom for its simplicity/battery life/faster/stable..... excellent work bro... you are genius to provide this.... we need more work from u porting miui rom updates
may be cam problem arise if we flash from other custom rom .. to avoid we can flash from v3 stock rom to miui rom or else we may need patch to fix those bugs.
I updated from miui 4.10.31 to 4.11.30 but landed with same cam problem and low audio quality but I luckily had a patch for both these and able to fix it. now everything fine . I could say 99.9% bugless
