i listen to music a lot on my p500, and a while ago my earphones were starting to fall out every few minutes and sound quality was really bad.
i took appart my p500 and noticed that at the bottom of audio jack there was a lot of dust, which prevented the earphones to propery sit in and it also lowerd the sound quality because the contact were not touching enough.
so to solve that you just need to take appart your o1 following a tutorial on youtube and than push something that is thiner than the audio jack in it and on the other side a lump of dust will pop out. just clean it and assemble your o1 and the problem is fixed. :victory: :victory:

Is anyone else starting to get bad tinny sound in their earpiece? Making calls, talking, just hearing the "ringing" sound when making a call is driving me nuts. Sounds like the built-in earpiece speaker is crapping out.
Is this covered by warranty?
Did you drop the phone. I dropped mine and then that same problem started. Annoying as hell

I experience this with my pristine Thunderbolt. No dings, no falls; just a few weeks old.
HTC doesn't care
Yes the ear piece speaker is defective and the external speaker also. I spoke with HTC and they said it was a software problem and would be fixed (What a Load). The phone also has a bad amplifier for the speakers and ear phone jack. If you turn up the base when listening earphones the amplifier cracks and distorts (Same volume on my Zune, Omnia II and Galaxy Tab sounds great). HTC said to turn the volume down. Good answer! Hopefully Samsung starts making better looking phones, because this will be my last HTC!
While watching TV today, there was a camera crew on, & one of them with a sound mic had the fluffy thing over the mic to stop the wind sound ect.
Now been thinking if you stick something like a small bit of cloth over the hole's inside the case, i wonder if this would deaden the sound & cut down the sensitivity slightly.
Im right in guessing those 2 tiny holes above & below the camera are for recording sound, when recording video?
Anyone else notice distorted audio? It only seems to be on certain lower tones but at any volume. Not a volume is too loud issue just seems the speakers don't like a certain tone. This is my second tf300t, on the first audio was always crisp and clear but it was always freezing so i exchanged it. This one hardly freezes but i notice a crackly hum almost like a vibration of sorts while playing some tones in either music games or movies. Sometimes audio is perfect and sometimes it does that distortion. Almost like a blown speaker. Its weird though because it sounds clear and perfect on some media its only certain tones that obviously not all songs, games, or videos will use. I'm running fully stock no root or unlock .30 firmware updated immediately after unboxing which could be the firmware i guess since the one i returned was .29 firmware and didn't have the issue. I'd appreciate it if someone on .30 would be willing to test and see if you hear it also. A game that does it is Hardwood Spades its free in play store but the music/sound in that game is a good one to test because it seems to use the tone that causes it all the time.
Thank you very much in advance for any help you can provide.
Edit: So no one would offer any help with this however I took it upon myself to figure this out. YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT IT WAS!
OK so I got fed up with lousy sound quality and didn't want to send this out and wait 3 weeks to get it back so I decided to take the back cover off (very easy with plastic spudger) I found that the speaker housing is made up of two pieces of plastic sandwiched together with the speakers mounted in the middle. The weird noise was coming from those pieces of plastic rattling together with lower tones being played. Why you ask? Well it was rattling because, ASUS MISSED A SCREW that holds the housing in place in the tablet. Yeah a screw was missing on one side. So I removed the whole speaker housing and looked underneath then put it back in and took a screw from a non vital area in the tablet and screwed the speakers in all the way and played some different things and guess what no distortion. WTF IS UP WITH QC AT ASUS LATELY!
Anyway thanks for reading :-D
If this post is helpful to you please hit the thanks button. I'd appreciate it.
Wow. That's resourceful. Good to hear that you fixed it.
That screw was intentionally left out to help with the light bleed in that corner. They are all like that.
I get the very strangest issues with the line output of my ONE S C2. At some points during a lot of songs there are sounds missing and I know this because they're clearly audible on my desktop speakers. It's like they're very muted and waaaay in the back and sometimes they're completely inaudible. And it's not even that a whole channel is missing, say there's no sound for things panned right or left. It's sounds in the center. For instance, there would be this part that had drums, bass guitars and effects, and a very specific guitar is silent. Sometimes it's other sounds, like effects, or keyboards.
There was this one time when lint got into the headphone jack and I thought that was the reason, but I have since taken it out with a pair of very tiny tweezers. Now... it's true I don't know if I managed to get it all out since I probably didn't notice it until some time after it got in and I probably must've pressed it inside there, but I did take out a nice piece of lint. Oh, and the jack doesn't seem to fully enter the headphone jack.
Hi Guys,
I am lucky owner my new Xperia Z3 :good: , but I am not sure if my speakers work correctly. If I take my mobile to hand in landscape, play music and cover right speaker I can hear that left speaker play much deeper. The right speaker has little flat sound. I am not sure but i think that right speaker is primary on speech such as in movie and left speaker is primary bass and deep. Can someone confirm me that has different sound from left and right speaker ?
Thanks
I don't know exactly on Z3 but for stereo system, sound from right noticable difference to left.
Yes, this is normal. It is also affected by the music/video you are playing. If it is recorded in stereo, there will obviously be differences in the left and right channels. If it is mono, the differences will be much less (if any at all).
Sorry for bumping this thread, but yeah, I have the same issue (if it is an issue) and I've tried playing mono file on it and there's still huge difference between left and right speakers - the right/bottom one sounds like a cheap phone's speaker while the top/left one sounds like an M8 speaker. I'd love to know what more owners have to say about this, if it's not the same on everyone's phone then I might try to change it.

Speakers are a mixed bag for me. No where near the quality of the M8. Top speaker is much bassier. Some video's like trailers sound absolutely fantastic with lots of bass and clear big sound, but video's with talking seem to make them buzz and crackle.
Also, the speaker volume settings are very inconsistent. Have to push volume up to 7/10 to really hear a lot of video's.
