Hi in was thinking about create some profiles for Cpu control on Tasker for example :
Whatsapp Cpu max 800 min 200
Facebook Cpu max 850 Min 200
I have to think more about whichj app change the Cpu..
Is a good idea? For save some battery

Go ahead..:thumbup::thumbup:
A 50mhz difference isn't gonna save a 1% of battery lol just let the phone scale to your needs

I have playing all this day with the Cpu speed and ja ja I have to experiment more with which speed is correct for each app for now my phone is slow as hell when unlock the screen for at least 6 seconds I think is Joice defender Cpu on idle is 300 I will rise to 500 and test

I'd say listen to bbrad. Your phone can handle it.

So I set my phone to 245 min and 368 max for fun and its still mostly useable. I'm going to charge it and use it all day tomorrow, ill post my batt stats.
I mean can browse xda and Facebook without issue, but I'm sure flash or using the camera might have problems. But still... Nuts.

You are at default. I run 918 - 384 and get crazy battery life
really. i thought default was 1200 and 200. which is your Max which min. isn't your phone slow like that?

I don't see why you'd want to run with a min higher than 192MHz. Is there a reason?

Only reason is that's the default for the script I'm running. Plus phone does go into deep sleep anyways when idle/screen off
so you under clock it what's a script?

Yea just download the kernel and script. Go into cwm and clear cache but not the factory reset one the one below it. Then go to advanced and clear dalvik.
Now you install kernel zip from sd card just like a rom. Then do the same thing for the script

Min 1500 is why your battery's draining so fast. With that, you're constantly keeping your phone clocked that high. I have it set to 192 min, 1500 max. Also, make sure to either set it to On Demand or Conservative if you're trying to save life.

Well I took your idea my Max clock is now 1080. I changed it last night and I'm already seeing a huge difference in battery. But my performance has not changed at all. Sweet!

Yea i was at over 10 hrs off charger and had 52% left with heavy usage. Went to bed and fell asleep with Google Music streaming all night and phone still was at 10%
I was wondering if anyone had any idea how fast you can actually o/c this phone without damaging the processors

Specific to each phone man nobody can say some can get 1.8 some can't go past 1.5 mind you that's just keeping the phone running past those points most bomb and phone boot loops and stuff
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I prefer 1.8 but not all chips are created equal... Mine is a refurbished Skyrocket so im quite pleased. Try it out and go up in increments until you are either blown away by the speeds or your phone says NO! (which usually means a reboot frenzy or boot loops)

Those clock speeds are considered safe so the damage would be from extensive strain from extended time at those speeds which could create high heat man chances are you won't have that issue overclocking is totally safe as long as you don't go crazy
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
The CPU is rated to run 1.2-1.7GHz fine so anything above those will depend on voltage and temperature. Higher voltage/temps are the ones that can cause degradation on a CPU when it gets too high. 1.8GHz should be fine but around that range you may see a higher power draw so if you use it too long it will eat up your battery.
Things that can contribute to higher temps other than higher voltages are use of GPS, keeping the screen on/high brightness, playing games while plugged in, using GPS on a car mount (heat from sun), or just plain browsing for a long time using the modem. Keep in mind that unlike computers and laptops, the phones don't have active cooling (fans) so if you plan to overclock just try to keep the phone in a low temp environment (don't leave phone in car!) :silly:
Just be sure to keep an eye on the temperature. If it starts running north of around 38° C then you should back it off.
That being said, with the badass or SmartassV2 governor I've had plenty of success setting the OC to 1.7

Been on this ROM for over a week, so everything is settled.. This basically means my battery is shot, right?
Brightness is always set to lowest dim setting. Screen on for an hour.
Have a new battery coming for the holiday season. Just curious why the battery indicates "Good" health reading.

No it looks like you have a program keeping from deep sleep since over 80% screen on.. CPU SPY from market will let you know but either you never put phone down out have rogue application preventing deep sleep.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
I have CPU SPy installed, and it's definitely kicking down to deep sleep. That's the first thing I checked
I couldn't fit it in the screenshot, but my min freq is 384 and that's at 25%. My phone doesn't feel snappy if it's at 192.

I dont get a very good battery backup.....i tried both phantom and thunderzap kernels.
The best i can do is that i run the phone at 810 Mhz with undervolted cpu .....i even lowered the brightness a lot more than the default limit.......now how about disabling the second core and run the core0 at 810 Mhz or say 1 Ghz ??? or maybe a little overclock.
Kernel tuner app doesnt help....same is the case with "2nd Core" app and "Xcore " app ......can someone help me ????
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If u disable 2nd core u will hav lags.so its better not to do that.u should show it to the sony service centre to find whats making ur battery drain problem.maybe its battery prob dude

On which kernel you tested it? For me it works on ThunderZap 3.1 ultra kernel, see the screenshot.

Make sure that SuperSu is up to date. Trickster Mode relies on it to execute and hold settings.

I flashed thunderzap again (i m a user of phantom ) .....this time it works ......its weird.....
Anyways , thanks a lot dude .....i ll post here after a day or two that how well this setting works ......is there no way to achieve this on phantom kernel ? Because all the point of disabling the second core is battery life and people say that phantom has got better battery backup .....no offence to thunderzap and i havent tested it personally
Have u been using the phone with just one core ??? If yes , then how isbthe battery ??
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No I use both cores with Phantom 4.5
Since I don't game and only use my phone for mail, surf and calls my battery is really good. I can go for 1.5 days easily. Phone is slightly overclocked overclocked as well to 1.24Ghz
Try unvolting.. & unlock on events like call, screen off, playing music, etc.. Tasker might help you with this all..
