[project] [rom] First jelly bean custom rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus GT-S7500

This is project started to discuss about first jelly bean rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500..
As it is confirmed that galaxy ace plus will be getting jelly bean 4.1 upgrade...
This project will be started as soon as jelly bean upgrade is officially released for galaxy ace plus...
I started this thread so early to discuss about how users want that rom to be... So that I can start preparing for it from now and learn if I don't know about something...
So please everyone post your suggestions... :thumbup:
Also i was thinking to make a team or something for this project...
So if anyone knows any development things and wants to be part of the team then please comment below...
Even i am not a good developer so it doesn't need you to be really a great developer... All I need is that person has basic knowledge like modifying rom, editing apk files and other things too...
I don't have Linux system and don't have any experience in kernel development so we need a Kernel developer too...

I am not too skilled to port or make cm10 from starch... All I can do now is modify stock rom and make it work much better than stock rom...

1st.
If that's the case, first you should change the stock apps. (There's a list of stock apps that can be deleted without hurting your phone.
2nd.
You should add many scripts that can boost our phone to maximum speed. Like on your ROM (Ofcourse it needs init.d support).
3rd.
While learning about modding, try to learn how to port CM10. Since we'll be having Jelly Bean, there will be alot of Devs that know how to port it. Try asking them. (We also have Blackburner)
These are all suggestions, just tell me if you don't like it, I'll continue to add suggestions.
I personally like the GO Keyboard, GO Launcher, GO Locker, Quickpic (Gallery), and Handcent SMS (Messaging). (Many more though)

And I was thinking of adding aroma installer so that everyone can choose between stock apps and other apps...
I can't do all alone and it seems that no one here is willing to participate...

I want to help you but I don't know anything about modding. Sorry.
The only thing I can do for the time being is gather all developers for Ace Plus.

i myself tried to modify some roms with disastrous results as i pretty much was not sure of anything myself
i decided it was better to leave these type of things to experienced developers

Can the DSIXDA kitchen be used on those jelly bean roms to add some tweaks? Also, once we have the JB, it will be one thousand times easier to port Cyanogen 10 using, maybe, the galaxy nexus sources.

There are a lot of tutorials about porting out there. I'm give a try since it's released.

Care center? So samsung can update the device for you? Even with root? I think that we don't have it here at Brazil...

Welcome buddy. Follow the steps:
1) For any query we have Q/A thread in Q/A forum, Post there. -> Click here for Thread
2) We have 3-4 ROM based on JB 4.2.1. - List is here
CM10.1
Liquid Smooth
AOSP
AOKP
3) Choose as per your wish & Bugs lists is there at OP.
Hope you will find the Best.:good: BTW, every ROM has few Bugs. So, you just need to adjust with it.

[Q] Samsung Infuse 4G ROM ..

Hey guys !!
I am using Samsung infuse 4g I997 .. I'm using jellybean (4.2.2) custom ROM of Beanstalk in it .. but i am bored of the menu icon (the circle/nexus icon) and also of this ROM .. I want a ROM which is smooth and does not have this type of menu icon .. And I don't want to download a theme for other menu icons .. I was hopping if anyone can give me a link or something to a ROM which is smoother as well as of jelly bean (4.2.2) .. And also I've used the avatar ROM and the cyber style SGS-IV ROM so I want ROMs rather than these two ! I shall be very thankful to you guys ..

Best bet is to download a custom launcher. Most of the JB ROMs have the same style launcher.
My Infuse is Stalking Beans

Just try different ROMs.. Isn't hard or lengthy to do a backup and flash different ROMs til you find something you like. I personally like the avatar ROM. Runs pretty smooth and has improved battery life with a few kernel tweaks using the infuse toolkit. And you can just download different icon packs if you're tired of the looks.

And just from my personal experiences with the Infuse, launchers aren't advisable.. with only 512mb of RAM, we have to be very minimalistic about what programs are running. This phone runs out of memory and lags quite easily. 2 ROMs that I've used and seem to be fairly light and speedy are:

U can also customize the look of your rom like i always do i have the flashable touchwiz zip and the accuweather zip when i flash any rom i also flash this 2 zips

Hello! Trying to install purchased hd widgets on my Infuse 4G Beanstalked with Scotts newest 09–23. Anyway in playstore I keep getting the error could not install to usb storage or sd card. I was on carbon and did the same thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

which is smooth, fast, less leggy and minimum ROM available at the moment for Jelly Bean 4.1.2?
Currently i am using JMP v12 Tornado ROM JB 4.1.2 by Jigar M. Pattani. This is excellent ROM but there are some issues.
GPS is not working, No SMS notification, Scrolling is not working in notification area.
guys please share your experiences this will be helpful for all of us.

I am using jmpv12 rom from last two week. performance is very nice and smooth. but there are some issue like mentioned in my first post. No message notification, GPS is not working, Scrolling is not working in notification area. apart from this very nice rom.

I tried suvi 15 and cangalaxy s4 ...
Both are good , bt in my experiance after using for 3days i would recommend cangalaxy s4 which is butter smooth and best touchwiz xpriance..
In suvi i observed hardly 100+ free ram ,
Bt here always 180+ ram free ram eventhough i installed nearly 30 apps ..
and Better wifi and fast gps lock..

These kinda threads are not allowed in xda and will never be. Everyone have a different taste and choice. Rom developers give their best in there every build.
I think that u can check out screenshots,reviews and other features of the rom to find which one suits you best.

please, don't open best ROM or kernel discussions. It is really pointless, since it is up to you and how you use your device. Since it looks like the issue is performance, it would be much more productive to open a Question thread in A110 Q&A about how to improve the performance of your phone.

ill start with sgt3 10.1 because that is the device i have and work down from there

Fantastic! The custom ROM's that i would like to keep running don't have touchwish and those which do, have other problems (wifi or gps don't work). So i always end-up going back to stock. A fully functional ROM (like Slim) with touchwiz would be the ultimate (for me at least).
T-310 WiFi 4.2.2.
