I have read all the post on this and let me say I have done everything (that I know). Factory reset. Wiped everything through rom manager and through bootloader. Loaded several custom roms. Even updated the radio. Took battery out for 5 mins. My router is working fine. wifi turns on like it is looking but then says "error". Also bluetooth doesnt work. Turns on then turns off. No "error" or anything. Try to use the up sound button and it no longer works. Everything was working fine then all of a sudden they quit. Is there something I am missing? I though maybe hardware problem but cannot get info on where they are. Have read that wifi antenna is in the battery cover. Checked and all contacts are clean and making contact. Really frustrated. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Were you s-off or s-on ?

When was the last time the phone worked completely and what state was it in (ROM, S-Off or S-On unlocked bootloader, etc.)? What radio did you have, what radio did you flash, and what radio do you have now?

Can someone explain the nature of the reboots that they are experiencing? I had a reboot on Friday but it was much more then just a reboot, after the phone was finishing powering back up I had no ability to call out as if there was no service. I tried numerous battery pulls and even had Verizon do a reset on there end, nothing helped yet I was still able to receive and send data. Finally after about an hour my service was back. Then the same thing happened again yesterday, I went through the same processes with no success yet. I have tried all the different radio choices and nothing is working, does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!!
Also I am rooted and using the stock rom
Bump..........
Did you do any radio flashes? I know mine rebooted on me when I was trying to flash the GB leak from yesterday and there wasn't even a signal bar...just blank space. I reflashed my radio and everything was ok.
Edit: read the last line that I missed before. I am assuming if you are on a stock rom that you didn't flash any radios (otherwise it would have been noted). Thats the only thing that I have run across causing issues. SMH
Yes, I had similar problem
I was running the Stripped Das BAMF with the new radio (same as the one that recently came out OTA) and had this no service problem twice. Since I'm in a 3G only area, I have been using CDMA auto(PRL) and use the Phoneinfo app to change it. I tried to change the network type to something else but couldn't change it. (I presume the network type is for data, but I was trying to see if changing it would affect the service). The other options were there, but I couldn't select anything other than the CDMA auto. A battery pull fixed my problem both times.
Now I'm running BAMF Remix 1.6.3 with the new radio and everything is fine. I don't change the voltages or overclock. Yesterday as I was driving around town the phone rang, but I didn't answer it. When I got home, the phone had powered down and did a reboot.
Just an additional thought. You might try doing a data wipe/factory reset to see if that helps. Of course, you lose your settings that way, so back up first.
I have been Googling like crazy and I've found several posts on various different boards. There's really no reason to link any of them, most are regarding older HTC phones.
What I've managed to find out, is that on some HTC phones that get this problem (if it's not custom rom or an upgrade issue) the WIFI antenna is loose. It just needs to be opened and re-connected.
ORG POST BELOW:
So, went to bed....turned wifi off because I was low on battery. Woke up, charged the phone. Tried turning on wifi, but all I get is "Error" after a couple of seconds. No wifi icon or anything else in the notifications bar. 3G work fine, can turn this on and off.
What's up doc?
Oh, I have stock rom and havent changed any setting, updated anything or done anything to my phone at all since yesterday.
Bluetooth won't turn on either!
Broken antenna in the case? Bad connector pins?
Anybody?
Did a factory reset, changed SD card, wiped that, did a factory reset. Wifi still won't turn on, no icon in notification bar, get "error" in the "Wireless & networks" menu.
Removed back cover, cleaned contacts, checked for cracks in the cover. Nothing.
The phone is 35 days old.....this is a new record for bricked phone for me.

The store/repair center has, according to the manifest I got, done the following:
- Conductive Fabric.Flash to Chassis.PYD
- Rigid-Flex Board ASSY.Upper board.w/oGPS diversity
antenna.w/o_Regional_ID. PYD
- Adhesive-Double Tape.power-keyFPC.CN-4490.PYD
- Conductive Fabric.Flash to chassis.PYD
Apparently, they changed the whole board. It also appears as the camera is new, because there was a small scratch on the metal casing and that's now gone.

No, they just changed your Main Flex Ribbon Cable, as I just finished repairing mine myself from water damage (power button wasn't working at all and it would randomly turn off either mid call or receiving a call 8/10 times). When I was quoted £110 to fix it at the shop I was like screw this, went on to buy the Main Flex Ribbon Cable (which is essentially the whole upper board of the phone) for £44 off ebay and changed it over myself. This part comes with the camera case which you mention you had a scratch on. When you change the boards over you actually have to unplug the cameras from the old one and plug em into the new one. Everything works fine now except for the wireless, which when I try to turn on, it comes up with error now. I'm just happy that I can use my phone without worrying about missing calls or not being able to turn it on without adb commands while I am out, leaving me essentially stranded....
Link doesn't work.

Can you please post a good link to the file?
If you're rooted, boot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache and cache then reboot. This worked for me.
I'm having the same problem on my HTC One S - When you press the wifi button to connect it instantly turns itself off and reads "Error". Does anyone have a clue why it's doing this??

I ran the louder volume hack.app v3.5 and lost radio signal. I have a rooted phone but have done nothing else to the phone. I ran the louder volume hack.app not knowing it was discontinued. The program didn't seem to work os I rebooted the device to see if that was the problem. This is when I noticed I had no mobile service at all. I have rebooted the phone, pulled the battery, done factory reset, and nothing seems to help. Where the icon was showing bars, it is now showing a circle with a slash in it. Can anyone help me Please!!

I would flash the stock rom and radio see if that does it
lost radio signal.
I have now reflashed the kernal - kernel-att-stock-2.3.6.zip, SkyRocket ICS (2.3.5 Gingerbread) - Rc 6.75 Stock rom, and Original Shipped AT&T Skyrocket Radio I727ATTKJ2 and RIL. I still have no radio, signal, nothing. Everything else still works fine but no mobile service, or data at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I finally got it!! I found this fixdLA3modem.zip here on XDA, flashed it, and got everything working. The circle with a slash has changed back to bars and now I have the 4G symbol back. Thanks.
I own a HTC One S with stock vodafone (gb) rom, rooted, ICS 4.0.3, Touch 4.0. As I see a lot of people have similar issues as mine, however, I wasn't able to find a working solution. So the problem is that the phone stopped being able to connect to wifi networks - no matter if secured or free. I tried to change the settings from dhcp to static, stll nothing. It goes through connecting>obtaining ip address>authenticating>saved,secure... in whatever order, and the cycle repeats over and over... Sometimes bars appear, blink and disappear again. I had no wifi problems until last night, when I went to a place with free wifi, and for the first time I could not connect to it. After that the issue continued at home. Restarting the router/phone don't work. Has anybody found a working solution?

Not a good solution but you could try a factory reset if nothing else works.
-Sent from my TMOUS HTC One S.-
-Stock/rooted 2.21 + 1.06s baseband-
-Hboot 1.06-
I rebooted the phone a few times (waiting 6 mins when off) without fastboot on and on the third time it started working. I hope this doesn't happen again... As I searched through the forums I saw a lot of people having similar issues mainly with dhcp.. hope there's a fix for that...
Problem appeared again... This time reboot isn't solving anything. When I put it on static IP it connects to the network and disconnects over and over again. This s*** is driving me crazy...
are you running a custom kernel?
No. It's stock. Recovery is CWM, phone is rooted via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577831
it could be the boot.img causing your issue. i rooted via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 and have never had a problem with wifi unless i had flashed a custom kernel
Well.. I don't know, because I haven't flashed a custom ROM.. Just rooted the stock one... Btw it started working again after like 10 reboots with no fastboot on, but experience tells me that it'll go crazy again...
you could also try flashing a custom rom, it might fix the issue
Hi
I picked up a t959w off craigslist. The guys said he couldn't connect to wifi or anything, but I guessed he just screwed something up. However, after flashing AOKP or CM9 I can't get any data, wifi etc..
Is there any way of diagnosing this?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Kentt
First goto, setting, about phone, what does it says for baseband? Sometimes too network drivers don't flash fully, trying flashing something like Hefe's 0.81 kernel and flash it twice if needed.
Baseband is T959WUQLB6. I'll try hefe.
Ok. There is some command to get logs of the wifi and what its trying to do, but I can't recall them off hand, but if reflashing a new kernel, then reflashing again doesn't do it, might be hardware somehow. You did get the phone with capacative buttons DOA, so who knows what this person did to the poor phone. lol. I assume calling/messaging works with the modem flashed.
