Hi there lending you some help. Try using kingo root apk file, install it, have mobile data or wifi activated and then click the "one click root" button. 100% assured it will work 'cause i've tried and tested it in my phone, same as oyur phone cloudfone 501d. It's now rooted and i already have my custom rom flashed. KALAWAKAN ROM V2.9 by carlman villareal. If it works on you (definitely it will) have them recognized by hitting their thread "thank you" button. Good luck and have enough guts doing it and not blame somebody if something goes wrong. Apply caution.

Hi i think a lot of you guys can create a custom rom in this forum!
Im trying to figuere something out but i cant
PLEASE any anyone start creating a custom rom for vodafone smart 3!
I believe that you can help the owners of this phone guys come on its too shame that this phone doesn't have for ex cynogenmod or anything else
i and many others will be greatfull if someone replay and say i started!!!!

Well you can't expect a Rom for an underused device. Besides isn't this device from 1 year ago? If there wasn't any interest then, it's highly unlikely there would be now...

they are a lot of people who are interested for a custom rom the only thing is missing is a developer to create it...

true, but some operators have it for mere €29 (i.e. vodafone ireland when switching number, with possible €20 cashback from fatcheese) now, so it is great backup phone for around €10 unlocked give or take
that means there might be plenty of those around soon, while it isn't powerful device it isn't bad at all

How it is working? CWM is compatible with the device? And I see it is Android 4.1.1 with touchwiz interface like on Samsung devices. I am from Romania.

Yup definitely a good choice. Also if you are looking at roms I'd recommend checking out the jedi rom in the t-mobile section

Yes mate. As long as he can put up with his phone showing that it's a n900t and not the n9005. Then yes, yes and thrice yes. Imo it's the best rom out there.
Of course if it's an issue then he simply needs to alter the build.Prop to display the correct model. For me it's of no concern so I never bothered.
So to re cap my phone is an n9005 and that's the rom I use.

You know what that's a really interesting thing you've said there. Everyone else is fine with nfc but mine isn't working. So you could very well be right there.
As for the kernel I prefer to use saber kernel anyway. It's what I've used for a couple years with my note 2 etc. That is the one that is baked into the jedi rom.
Regarding nfc I have a Galaxy gear so had to manually connect which I can live with. Perhaps others couldn't?

That is true but if you are in Canada and you want LTE you should have got the N900W8, where you also have the unique advantage that you can do a lot of stuff without triggering knox and you can also downgrade from 4.4 to 4.3!
But all that is your mistake for not reading around and not posting your QUESTION in Q/A/Help section.

To be honest I'm not so worried about the technical limitations now, experience tells me a lot of these will be resolved over time. And I haven't downgraded to 4.3 now for a while. But I guess time will tell, eh?

Since the update to 4.4 which model wins over all on benchmark tests?
All I know is that the snapdragon 800 model on 4.4 is impossibly fast!

Should just get your local N900W8. You get to flash any ROM + Kernel + CWM without voiding any sort of warranty!
You can't do that on any other device and all you need to do as an extra step is to flash the KitKat fix found everywhere on the Canadian threads.

Can't wait to make this tablet faster you are the man! I work for Sprint as a repair tech and we sell tons of tabs as they are free and have been for awhile now in my Market I'm kinda shocked that we don't have many devs for the Sprint version.. Can't wait to flash I bed to reroot did not see any benifits so I unrooted and gave to my 3 yr old .

Sprint has so much bloat doe cx, there's a CyanogenMod rom that works pretty well if you wanna use it, I have the tablet booting, I just have to work out some errors.

I doubt there's a difference in the ROM. That's firmware you're referring to. Cm and carbon run on both. Some people are reporting issues that not everyone has and the general consensus seems be that ours related to the nb8 firmware but I've been running cm for a while now on nb8 without any problems.

Btw, thanks for starting this. My favorite ROM. I was beginning to gather info to try and build for it myself but I've never done it before and am bogged down so it was going be extremely slow going or never get finished at all. I have a sick mother taking all of my free time right now. So yea, thanks a lot. Somebody had to do it. I was amazed at the lack of development for the device. At least there are some options now. More than I can say about a month ago.

Waiting for some development so that i can port things from here and vice versa (hope kitkat by samsung isnt too complicated and modified).
Also it is time for the gaming thread and the homescreen(screenshotsz) thread.
And CONGO!!!

im also trying to hit up the recovery but i can't find the dev blocks for the boot.img and recov.img i have all the files from the stock firmware dump that's in the general section for our device of t230NU so if anyone can help in regards to a tut or a link for the same variation i would appreciate it

Sounds like the Tab 8 gets no love. New to this forum. Plant my azz in S4 M919 and I9505. Hope we get some ROM love in here. Its nice to see that its active, kinda. lol

The device is fairly new on the market, I just got it (Tab 7.0 Wi-Fi only), but we should wait until devs finish making working recoveries and then we can think about custom ROMs.
Didn't root yet because of that, but I can't wait to do it ^^
