So I am trying to go back to stock using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856532&highlight=root Every time I get back to stock the counter is at 1. Any suggestions? Please help as I may have to return the unit.
Thanks
After step 3, is your counter at 1 or 0?

The app shows 0 but when I boot to the download screen it shows 1.

Is there a way to force an update or something? I have tried several things to get this fixed.

Ok finally worked out a fix. I used one of the p5113 images from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704668 booted into the download menu and used odin to push it onto my tab. Rebooted and no more Custom. It now says official every place I look.

Posting this here, I made an account just to ask this question. I've rooted a few of my devices but this is my first time rooting a phone. I followed the link you posted but when I boot into recovery using CWM and try to flash SupersSU_Bootloader.zip I get an E:signature verification failed.
Any thoughts?
No sorry haven't rooted mine yet. I'd try adding in the thread for the root.

Well I fixed it, for some reason it was booting into the normal samsung recovery instead of CWM. I know its kind of obvious but hey....give me a break
For other newbies having the same issue make sure you are booting into CWM and not the stock samsung recovery.
How do you change which recovery the phone boots into?

You don't. The ota was overwriting cwm on boot like the last ics ota was. The directions for the root method are updated to get around that now.

Yup! I saw the update about 10 minutes ago and I am now rooted!

Seems like there is a Setting to display info on home screen. Maybe that got activated.
I can not see anything that got activated. But thank you so much for the quick response

This looks like factory mode, I looked around and that's the best that I could come up with. Both of these threads state how to remove that using Terminal Emulator:

Let me know if this works for you.
Edit: And here as well via this post.
Holy crap thank u , it took care of my problem, thanks again. Worked like a charm

hi,
like many of you i rooted my note 10.1 and am using collective rom , but want to get it to work with allshare.
triangle away doesn't seem to work at all, the device just stays at connecting.
are there any other options?
I don't see how triangle away would fix your problem, my device is rooted with over a dozen clicks on the counter and it doesn't effect my all share casting.

I found you needed to have the "custom" status in settings as official to work...
I needed to make sure the recovery was stock and finally jusat reverted to a stock rooted rom. I did need to install the stock rom through Mobile ODIN and do a complete wipe. This reset all status's and reset the flash counter as I had run triangle away before flashing...
Did you reset the dongle when trying to connect? I do not encounter problems, but must usually restart device (to temporarily disable SU- make sure appropriate box is checked in Triangle away) prior to connecting.

I'm trying to root my s3 and the goal is in the end to put cm on it. I'm bummed the installer doesn't work for our phone, but is there a good guide on here or elsewhere with the files I'll end and a how to?
Thanks in advance ( FYI, I've flashed and rooted multiple times before just never cm)
If you stop by Google and go to CyanogenMod's page, find the phone in the devices section. There are device specific guides there. If you want to try something else, go to the original development section, find the CyanogenMod ROM and follow the directions there.

I've found the site but I'm not too familiar with some of the steps needed. I've re rooted my device, I know now I need to unlock my bootloader. There used to be an app on the play store for this, is still there and whats the name of it does anyone know?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Never used an app but using an automated system like that without knowing how to do it the real way ends up crippling you for the long road of wonderful Android. Here is a link to a sticky that has your info:

Ok so I managed to unlock the bootloader and now I'm on the next steps..but it mentions something about adb. I've never messed around with it..

Read the instructions here once rooted/unlocked
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405425
Yeah, those didn't really help me...if I gave the file on my sd card should I be able to flash it from there with rom manager or goo manager?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If you're rooted, and unlocked, do you have your nandroid backup set up with custom recovery? From there just use Goo Manager to boot into recovery, and then wipe your cache and then flash your ROM and appropriate Gapps pack. Process was fairly simple on my SIII using TWRP. Make sure you look up the appropriate Gapps zip before starting or you will wind up with key features inoperable and will have to reboot and load it onto your phone before finishing setup.
You'll like CM 10.1.x on the SIII, it runs very smoothly.
Nothing in the post I linked mentions Rom manager. The instructions work if followed.
Don't forget to do this either. Just in case. I've never had to restore, but i still have A & B covered

Not necessarily. I think I flashed my SIII with about 85%. Then again, I did most of the steps with it plugged into the charger EXCEPT for flashing the rom itself. It took about four or five minutes tops.
Has anyone tried both cm and slimbean? I'm thinking of trying slimbean first bc I have usee cm in the past but I keep reading slimbean is stable and gives great battery.

Hi all,
I recently upgraded my Note 2 to Android 4.3 using the SN10 ROM, and everything went smoothly with the exception that I haven't been able get root back (flashing the SuperSU 1.8 update does nothing) and Wi-Fi (the modem zip did nothing when I flashed it from TWRP, and the instructions say to load a file with Odin, except Odin cannot load .img files!)
Any help would be appreciated. I'm a computer engineer and I've been using custom ROMs since my HTC iPAQ PDA so I'm not a noob when it comes to this things.
TIA,
Erik

Forgot to add that I already tried clearing caches, etc... with no success. Wi-Fi toggle goes to on and then flips itself back off instantly.

Ok so reinstalled SuperSU from the Play store, turns out that one was a PEBKAC error. Any leads on how I can fix my WiFi though? Thanks!!!

Bump? Anyone? I would rather ask directly in the ROM's thread but I have to get past the 10 post limit first.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Also, every time I reboot the screen shows "Android is upgrading". Makes me wonder if I need to do something to make it finish before my WiFi will work again?
