Don't get me wrong. My G2x has been good to me and I still enjoy it.... But I'm due for an upgrade now.. What tmobile device should I be looking forward to? I really want to get a phone that will have good community support. What upcoming phone would you wait for?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Possibly the HTC One variant that's coming to TMobile soon.
The isn't that the one s? It's not as good spec wise from the one x.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
HTC One S is the best choice right now since its confirmed to arrive soon. Specs arent that far off from the One X.
-It trades a SLCD 720p screen for a Super Amoled QHD
-and It downgrades the 32gb storage to 16gb but adds unibody aluminum body
(side note) it has the same Krait dual core Snapdragon SoC but since it pushes less pixels than the AT&T One X theoretically it MIGHT be even faster in performance
Also, if you want to go the rumor route... there should be a cuad core G4X in the pipeline, it can either be a Vanilla HTC One X (since it passed FCC recently) or a Optimus 4X variant
Actually that would be great if HTC made the next G series phone. I had g1 then g2 now G2x. I didn't even plan that.

I Have the htc Inspire right now, and I've had it for over a year now. Its ended up to be a great phone. But it has its problems, anyways... I was going to get the HTC Vivid, but i decided to wait. And then I found out about the One X! I was very excited for that, but it wont come out until the second quarter now for AT&T. I also found out that the Vivid will also be getting ICS and the new sense 4.0 in the next coming weeks. So, should I wait another month or two, to get the One X? Or would I be just as satisfied with the Vivid? Also, I have used the Vivid in a store with no LTE and it is wayy faster than my Inspire, would the One X be a lot faster than the Vivid? Thanks!
I am gonna stay with my inspire, ics almost ready for a daily driver.
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using xda premium
I would wait. I have an Inspire and my brother had the Vivid, not any significant differences between the phones. Call quality and speaker loudness are the same (low). Only benefit was LTE. Needless to say, he said it wasn't worth going from an Inspire to a Vivid.
I beg to differ
I made the switch from the Inspire to the Vivid, and I gotta say it's quite the step up, I haven't experienced any lag, currently running an official leak of ics with sense 3.6 currently, 4.0 is coming soon. stock on ics the kernel is clocked at 1.5ghz. the screen is just ridiculously better, I loaded up the same HD images on both for comparison and some looked like totally different pictures. such a lightning fast device too.
But if you want to wait for the One X you can, I'd say go ahead and get the Vivid, it's specs are pretty damn similar, and once it gets the ics w/ sense 4.0 update it'd be pretty much the same, only a little better looking.

The screen and processor on the one x are better and will probably be supported longer anyway

does it matter in truth? 6months later we all want the newest thing anyways. it's not like ours becomes useless or cant do what we need, it just becomes obsolete in comparison to the next phone. and people thought computer death cycles were fast haha
Yes the OneX is a better phone hands down. BUT that's not what we're getting, we're getting the OneXL which has no sd slot, is an S4 dual core and is further gimped down to 16GB of storage. So after the rom you might get 9-10GB of storage, non-upgradable.
Hmmm... the Vivid isn't sounding as bad anymore does it?
would be possable to get the european vesion with the quad core processor in the states?
and i love my inspire just wish some one would port sense 4.0 over to it like there doing over on the nexus page.
but i dont realy like ics, the keyboards hard to use, the scrolling isnt as smooth, imo, i think ics is better left to the tablets.

My understanding is that the Euro units use different bands and the only one that may work is the Canadian Bell/Rodgers handsets. But that's only helpful if they get the quads, which I believe they will not. If you can find one that has these bands then you will have everything but LTE/4G. Due your research.
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
*Edit Based on a comparison on GSM Arena it looks like it should be possible. But what's it going to cost???
The vivid seems to have zero development, so I would avoid it.
I would bet the Vivid gets a big price cut when the One X comes out.
i think both are very good phones, it all depends whether you want to wait for the one x. at the end of the day, what was new today will be old tomorrow
Considering the at&t variant is only dual core compared to the original quad core, get the Vivid.

Hey, I'm still a current Inspire owner and currentely have a Vivid. The Inspire is rooted and the Vivid is locked and stock. Next month I will be buying an unlocked One X. The hardware in the Vivid is very capable to last, even stock, through the normal contract length. However, the AT&T One X is only a slight upgrade from the Vivid. The only difference is that it has an S4 Snapdragon, the Vivid has an S3. Both are dual cores. Both have 16GB of storage. The X will have between 10 and 12GB user accessible, the Vivid has 12. The X is clocked at 1.5, the Vivid 1.2. The Vivid has a 960x540 qHD display. The X will have a 1280x720 HD display. The dev section in the Vivid forums is severely lacking of support. After a fallout, 2 of 4 devs took their roms elsewhere. However, we have quite a few users who are learning to fill the void and add more support. The dev section for the X is gonna be a whole lot better, I'm gonna say it'll probably rival the Inspire's. If money is no object, wait for the X. If money is an issue, definitely get the Vivid. I love mine, but I just can't resist an unlocked T3 X.

I just cant see myself ever buying a phone that doesn't have a microsd slot. I might could go for one with 32gb storage with no sd slot, but I cant keep my 32gb card in my inspire under 24gb in use, no way I could fit everything onto 16gb total storage including system software, app storage, and all.
I know their selling point now is the whole 25gb of dropbox storage, and running everything "from the cloud" but without an unlimited data plan, I feel like that is just a ploy to trap people into getting charged for data overage.

Sums up my thoughts on the One X completely. I'll pass on this one, too.
Also, until LTE is fully deployed in my area, I'd rather not have a phone with LTE capability. So I'll stick with HSPA devices for now.

What's it called so I can test it out
God, the stupidity of some people boggles the mind.
1. Dual/Quad core is a meaningless metric for performance. The dual core in the One XL is equivalent to or faster than the quad core in the One X, with less power consumption. The Dual core in the Vivid is blown away by either.
2. The One X will run on AT&T's HSPA+ and GSM network, so long as it doesn't have a network lock on it.
3. Yes, the One XL is getting gimped pretty hard in storage. MTP partitioning would help, but the problem is with AT&T trying to cut costs.
I lost 2 months of crap after an app update bricked my iPhone.... NEVER again will I own a device that doesn't removable storage.
Direct Mass storage (in whatever form) and removable storage are 2 of my BIGGEST req's for a phone.

Would you like to buy USED phone? Then you can buy used Senation which is a Dual core,ICS running device. Not only Sensation, but also have some used dual core phone.
OR
You just wanna a MyTouch 4G?Me too currently using MyTouch 4G.I love it..haha.I dont think that you can find Brand New Mytouch 4G.But check eBay first..
Hmmm. I really prefer new ones. I found some for $282... refurb for 238.. But I'd like more suggestions like this phone, can be maded by other brands. I saw Sensation and it costs a bit more.
I saw Galaxy S but I think mytouch 4g is a few better, and galaxy s is a more expensive.
I wouldn't go for a refurbished phone if I were you. I prefer paying a little more and not having to worry about anything.
Maybe you could take a look on a Nexus S (not Galaxy Nexus), all my friends have great experiences with their devices.

Hmmm... Galaxy Nexus S seems to be a nice phone really. But it's a bit expensive than mytouch 4g. Nexus S used is the same price of a Mytouch4g new.
I don't know mobile processors, but the speeds are the same and Mytouch4g has a bit more ram memory (768mb x 512mb), but it has a better screen (S AMOLED vs LCD)
Don't know if high memory is needed, but maybe I'll consider an used nexus s.
Thanks!
Hello,
Personally i would suggest the HTC Incredible S or the Samsung Galaxy 2.
The Incredible S isn't that expensive anymore and with newer software things are working very well. However, it has just a single core 1 ghz processor but the camera and storage capacity are very nice.
The one i prefer is the Samsung Galaxy S2. Because of the new S3, i think that this current device will lower in price and it has a dual core processor!
Good luck,
Greetings Arjan
Personally i would suggest the HTC One S ATM. Beautiful, smooth, aggressive and .. HTC. Good compromise in my opinion
Thanks for your suggestions. I think these phones are still expensive to my wallet. Maybe I'll wait to see if prices will be lower or get the Mytouch 4g. Maybe wait a month to see if prices get lower.
Hi guys,
I have a question i didn't know where to post this concedering its not for a particular device or platform so i posted it here any way here is my question i have a HTC EVO 3D and i want to upgrade, why do i want to upgrade 2 reasons number one screen size its too small i had a GALAXY Note so when i went back to the EVO its small and the second one is the Processor its fast but not too fast anyway i was planning on buying the GALAX S III international version when it comes out but after i saw the price i was surprised its 800$ for the 16 GB so im stuck with the following and i need an advice (of course if by the time the S III comes out the price drops to around 600-650 i'll buy it )
Here are the phones im thinking of (and if u have other phones please tell me)
1- HTC One X international version
2-HTC Titan II
3-GALAXY Note
Please help thank you.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
I'd go for the Note. Cheaper and overall better. Sure the One X is quadcore, but Tegra kinda sucks so the extra buck you have to add isn't really worth it. Titan is quite meh.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Go for the One X , the screen is better the CPU is very fast and the GPU with custom roms increase the phones overall performance. I would only recommand the GALAXY Note if you email a lot because it feels like the note is designed for the business person in mind.
I don't know what kind of prices you got there guys but here the Note is about 200€ cheaper than the One X, which isn't that much better, not like 200€-better for sure IMHO. It actually is inferior for some aspects, like screen size (and pentile ain't bad on a 5.3"), removable battery, sd slot, and that pen thing that is mostly a gimmick but oh well. Once it gets even cheaper I'll definitely pull the trigger on one of those. I used one for a day last week, coupled with an extended battery and a Rii Keyboard it proved to be a very nice and portable mini tablet, the tablet mode you get on AOSP ROMs is also pretty sick. Not a great fan of those new Htc phones with locked bootloaders and all that jazz. ICS sources for the Note have just been released by the way, even better ROMs will come very soon, even tho AOKPs are already 99% hack free and rock solid.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Use a website like phonescoop.com to compare them side-by-side. See exactly what each specs are and which one has the specs you really care about. That would be of great help.

HTC Sence UI beats Note in 100 ways
Why not the nexus. Its much cheaper than the s3 and its a great phone. Still one of the best and probably the best price/goodness ratio.
galaxy note is the best
i have one and it's greate

Galaxy Note very big I think.. You can't touch all screen by one hand, sometimes I you'll need that.. S2 The Best!
HTC good but not good enough
It's a year in, and I'm still really enjoying my Samsung infuse. true 4g would be nice, but the devs are working on Miui ICS and it looks awesome
i used all of them. my advice is : GALAXY Note is a good one if you don't mind the big size. then chose GALAXY S2 !

I'd like my S2 to have 4g, but it's not.. Maybe you'd better wait for S3?
I dont mind the big screen actually i want something bigger than 4.3" i dont know why many people think its too big im really into big devices but not over 5.3" cause that would be really inconvienent for a mobile phone thats why i kept in mind choices like the HTC Titan 1/2 cause i really like the Metro UI and WP is kinda between the line of simplicity and costumizations still android is the best im freaking confused guys tell me more about ur experiance with the devices ur advising thanks

I am planing to join samsung club too. I have been using HTC over a year now. I am just thinking its time to change. As for as more into why Samsung s3 newest phone with lot of Kool thinking like just looking at the contact will dial number or screen will not dim . Honestly? I'd go GS3 if I was gonna upgrade right now. The One S is 'eh' at best and since it's a "high end HTC device", we probably won't see another one for a while. I contemplated upgrading to it within the week but they said I'd lose my 10 GB grandfathered data plan - which I absolutely refuse to do.
Funny thing too, they offered me a One S for $350 + Two year extension. I asked them if they realized that it's two hundred to two fifty on Craigslist in my area. They had nothing to say to that.
I absolutely love the SGS3, but wouldn't get it right now for T-Mobile for three reasons.
First, the T-Mo version costs more than other carriers SGS3s. That just rubs me the wrong way.
Second, we get the Qualcomm S4 version here. Dual core? Seriously?? I think that's lame considering EU gets the Exynos quad core version.
And last, and most annoying, the T-Mo SGS3 won't be compatible with the upcoming LTE because of the spectrum T-Mo is planning to use. Boo!
TL;DR I'd just wait. Sensation isn't top of the line anymore, but it's still pretty decent until some real upgrades find their way stateside.
Well i thought google said they will release at least 5 nexus devices in november, one for each different manufacturer. Why not get the next htc nexus then?

What's bad with dual core? The S4 keeps up with the Tegre3 and even beats it in some benchmarks. Does Android even benefit from quad core yet? I don't believe it really does. Hell, I have eight cores in my notebook and Windows hardly uses four of em.
If you want a good phone with good performance and best AOSP experience (speed, battery life, etc) wait for upcoming nexus.
I can live with sensation until google released new nexus phone.
But if you want a beautiful software and functionality go to HTC.
I dont like samsung experience but i should admit their hardware still the best (not its build quality tho).

Nothing bad with it really. Like I said, our Sensations are more than capable right now with dual core. It's just that if I'm going to break out the wallet and potentially renew my contract, it better be for a serious upgrade. An update from s3 to s4 just doesn't blow me away.
Remember when our Sensations came out and GB wasn't ready for dual core? Well now we have ICS and all is good. Same concept. I'd really hate to be on a dual core SGS3 and then the next version of Android comes out supporting quad core.
Silly to upgrade now. The GS3 is certainly "better" than the Sensation, but it's not enough of an improvement imo to justify the upgrade. I side with the people who say you should upgrade once new phones absolutely blow yours out of the water, not when they are merely a bit better. S4 dual core is pretty nice, and it beats the Sensations lackluster S3, but I'd rather wait for S4 quad core + Adreno 320 (a truly next gen gpu rather than Adreno 225, which is a slightly modified version of our gpu) or A15 exynos + Mali t-604 phones to hit, because they will undoubtedly roundhouse kick our sensations.

Good point. I, however, would like to mention that I never meant that I would get a GSIII right now, cause I'd have one if I did. All I meant was that if OP was getting a phone upgrade right now, GSIII over any HTC offering [T-Mobile's One S] is the way to go.
