I am looking for a stock ROM for the Galaxy TAB2 10.1 (SGH-I497). I rooted and backed up, found a ROM I wanted to test out. No WiFi and missing a ton of other things ... so ... i went back to restore and my backup was not there.
I have searched for the ROM myself via several outlets and I have yet to find a US version of the SGH-I497 ROM anywhere. I dont even care of its a CWM backup image at this point, as long as its for the SGH-I497.
If i have missed it, please let me know where i can locate an img. If not i am simply asking anyone that has one to toss up a img/rom/backup of the stock OS.

The SGH-i497 is the Tab 2 10.1, not the note. Is that what you meant?

I messed with one the other day. It needed to have an increase in the animation speeds. Seemed a little slow. That should be an easy fix. See if Spare Parts works.
What do you think of Touchwiz?
I love it is nice is one of the best things about sags3 it feels and looks nice ....

I was in a tmo store the other day, and that S3 was the only handset in the store that made me envious. At the time I had a jellybean ROM and my phone looked as well as any phone in the store. So I will make it a couple more months til I can get a new phone..

From there you can install either Rom manager or goo manager to flash recovery. Goo manager gives you TWRP and Rom Manager CWM. I prefer TWRP.
Also some folks complain of looking their emei but that can be restored so far I had no issue.

Hello I've just bought a note 10.1 and wondering how to root it and if I will lose any functions as I saw something about that somewhere? All I want the rooting for is to access system files (I want my saved game data from my phone on my tablet haha ) and I just like the fact I have the option to do anything on it but I'm not looking to change the rom or anything as I'm very happy with it at the moment and since its new it will hey official updates of the latest software so could someone offer any advice and a guide please? Rooting is pretty easy because of the exploit and with this method you will not increase your binary count so no issues and you will not lose any functions.
Just install this app on your not
Run the app and click on Root device and you are done
No worries no hassels

Hi,
I have bought just today one Galaxy Note 10.1 16GB, then I have upgraded it to JB 4.1.1 and now rooted it with simply two click, WoW! Formidable!
Now, I check for alternate kernels similar to Syiah, Speeedmod ...just for curiosity for now.

Be careful when flashing a new kernel on the new stock roms make sure they are compatible

Anyone know the answer to this? While this seems like a gloriously easy method to achieve root it would be cool to still receive OTA updates. On the other hand, I already got the JB update so maybe I shouldn't expect any more OTAs anyway?
You will still receive ota. And jb won't be the last upgrade for this tablet haha we will get 5.0. Samsung is getting really good at updates.

It doesn't have one if you use the exploit. The easiest why to add a recover is using team win recovery. You can install it via app on the play store. The app is called goo manager. That's what i use and I personally like it better than clock work mod.

I realize this is probably noobish, but I've been reading a lot of xda threads and getting really confused. Has anyone figured out how to root a Galaxy Ace 2, with Android 4.0.4 and ICS IMM761 firmware? I tried to do an odin flash based upon instructions I read online--if it worked, I was going to use I8160XXLD8_ready_to_root_ANT.tar.md5 and an update zip--but my attempt to do so kept backfiring when the phone froze repeatedly within 2 or 3 seconds of being put into download mode. Maybe I just got the ordering wrong?
Anyway, my underlying goal is try to get the sixaxis working on the phone--though I'm sure rooting the phone will have a lot of other uses. Any input would be appreciated.

I bought the phone from a booth at a Loblaw's grocery store in Ottawa--it came with a Koodo plan--and ICS came preloaded.
Do you have any input on the best way to root this, then?

The fact that it's a completely different phone, that barely anybody has apparently. There's a thread specifically for our phone on here, look for the Galaxy Ace IIx GT-S7560M thread. It'll have instructions on how to root the phone.

me too, and it is "on" sir. now i tried to flash JB stock rom using odin. maybe it solved the problem. and the thread said it is possible to rewrite imei number. but i dont know how to rewrite it

maybe possible solve is using smartsambox software. it is a imei repair and unlocking software.. i already try using 2.3.5. and imei number still 0
