So today I got my SGH-I815. It booted fine(it came with Stock 4.0.4). Then I put CWM on it using the sticky guide. It did not boot. So I did a factory reset. It still did not boot. Then it coulkd not mount the SDcard in CWM. Then I flashed the latest version of ParanoidAndroid. It still is stuck booting.

So I updated to ICS v30a using KDZ from LG. Then I tried to root it with "Root with Restore by Bin4ry" but it didn't work so I had no choice but to flash wkpark's boot with TWRP. The bootloader and recovery flashed just fine, but when I try to boot to ICS, I was given with a black screen after the silver LG logo. So I went to TWRP and wiped System and Data then installed the CM10 WalkmanROM. I got into CM10 just fine. I connected to WiFi and downloaded a nightly update for CM10. When it finished downloading, a popup said if I want to update now and reboot to recovery. I said yes to the popup. Then my O3D shuts down and doesn't boot again. I removed the battery and reinserted it then went to TWRP, I tried to flash the CM10 update manually and it said it Failed to flash. I looked at log, it said failed to mount /system. So I rebooted and went on with normal boot, thinking that WalkmanROM still works. Instead of getting to WalkmanROM, it went to TWRP. I rebooted again and the same thing happened. So I went again and flash wkpark's boot but instead of TWRP, I tried CWM. But my O3D doesn't get to fastboot, it just gives a black screen. I tried to go to fastboot manually, but instead, just gives me the silver LG logo.
Please I need urgent help. I use my O3D for a school project.

Thanks for your help, but I already solved it before you replied.
I figured out why I wasn't booting to fastboot. I didn't disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it, that's why it just gives me a black screen. I was using wkpark's boot, I just used fastboot to reflash the original GB bootloader using OS_Hacking's tool and just downgraded to v21e using SmartFlash and BOOTV21E.rar. Everything is fixed now. The system partition is now mountable again. I may seem like a noob, but I have had too many softbricks with my O3D ever since I got it as a gift, so there are times that I can do this on my own. There are times where I panic too much and post on xda for support but then before I got a response I already fixed it. Like this thread here: [urlhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197660[/url]
Anyways, thanks again Karim.
Randomly crashed this morning, now it is in a perpetual bootloop no matter what I do.
I have a Nexus S 4g
I did a factory reset and that didn't work.
I tried to use CWM USB mounting to copy over a new rom and that didn't work.
I updated CWM to the latest version and sideloaded CM10.1.2 and the latest gapps, and yet the bootloop persists. I'm positive that it installed both of these zips successfully.
My last resort was trying to return it to stock using a a 2.3.4 image and relocked and unrooted. Still won't boot up.
What can I do to fix this? I'm confused. Is it possible that my phone is entirely broken?
Hi guys,
I have run into a problem when trying to revert my phone back to stock using odin. Here is the backstory. I was rooted running CM 10.2. Decided to try a 4.3 ROM. Flashed the new ROM successfully but noticed it was really janky when I was setting it up (clean install) and decided to flash my backup of CM 10.2. When flashing the backup, the flash only partially completed and booted into a non-functional version of my 10.2 ROM.
At this point I decided to use Odin and go back to completely stock. Ive used this a few months ago and it worked successfully. I used a tar.md5 of VRBLK3. Odin says "passed!" but when the phone tries to boot up, it gets to the verizon 4G animation and sits there cycling through that animation indefinitely.
I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Ive tried re-doing the odin flash with the same results. Thanks for any help!
Edit: Ive tried booting into the recovery and doing factory rest/wipe cache partition with no luck
Edit: Tried booted into recovery and it worked! I think im good from here.
Clear Cache
I had something similar happen several months ago. I believe the solution for me was to boot into recovery and clear out the cache.

If you didn't get it fixed, pull battery, boot into recovery and factory reset. This will clear data and cache from previous installed ROM. Odin doesn't do this for you.

Hello all,
Last night I was trying to install the latest Gummy release on my Verizon Galaxy S3. This was the first time I have tried to flash a rom on this phone. It failed, and I rebooted my phone, and now it will only boot into the clockwork recovery.
I thought it may have been damaged as i was transferring the file to the device. I had an SD card in my droid X, So I put it in my Galaxy and formatted it with clockwork. Then I transferred the gummy release (that I also re-downloaded) from my computer to the SD card via a memory card reader. I put it in my Galaxy and tried to install the release, and it gave me a different error
Code:
E: Can't Open /external_sd/Gummy-2.1-01-09-14-NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Edit: Tried a few other roms and they had the same issue, but Cyanogen Mod 10.2 worked. Anybody have any guesses why?
Edit2: Further developments, Trying to do the latest nightly fir the CM yields the same issue that Gummy's release gave me initially. It reports as follows:
Code:
E: Error in /external_sd/cm-11-20140110NIGHTLY-d2vzw.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Is there possibly a firmware issue at play?
Did u unlocked ur recovery. And if ur trying to flash a KITKAT rom u need the latest clockwork recovery
I'm having this exact issue except I currently have TWRP 2.6.3. I wiped data, cache and internal and it actually booted the below ROM (the first boot) but once I got everything setup and rebooted the device it will not boot beyond recovery. It hangs on the Samsung boot logo. I've tried to restore to a 4.1.2 ROM as well as install 4.3 and 4.1.2 again multiple times but they will not boot. Any direction would be appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I did unlock with EZunlock. Would the clockwork on the play store be the latest one, or is there another place with more up to date versions?

Do you get the same error on install that I'm getting, ro are the installs finishing, but not booting?
Try goo manager or ez-recovery to install the latest recovery
right now i can think of
factory reset format data. Make sure u backup ur internal
Wen changing from rom to rom is a good thing to do a clean install
get the right gapps.
The 1st boot always takes time at least on me.
Sorry i cant think of more helpful things.. Been drinking
Looks like my recovery just needed an update. Thanks everyone.

Confirmed also an old recovery for me as well. Thank you very much!
I successfully installed SafeStrap and flashed the Liquidsmooth ROM. It came up and booted once, but I could not login as the password I had set for the phone all of a sudden didn't work.
I restarted it again, tried again, no luck.
I then got it into download mode, ran Odin3, tried to flash the s3vzw_4.4.2.tar file, said it was successful, but is stuck at the Liquidsmooth boot screen.
Booted into recovery, tried to do a factory wipe, it was unsuccessful.
So . . . I am stuck with it at the boot screen.
Am I screwed now? Or is there a way to get it back?
Any and all help is appreciated.
UPDATE -- I was able to format Data and I seemed to have gained some traction. From there I wiped the cache as well and loaded the ROM again and it boots.
I'm actually trying to figure out how I can load an older factory ROM.

You can't flash any custom roms with the 4.4.2 NE1 bootloader, your currently soft bricked because of it
