[Q] pattern lock - bigger grid & more options - HTC Sensation

Hey people,
I got a question about the android pattern lock.
My gf's S3 is capable of using the same grid-buttons twice, like UP and DOWN. Maybe this picture can help to understand what I mean.
(1-2-3-4 is where my finger would go; mad paint skillz ftw)

When I tried the same on my Sensation, this doesn't work. I can only use each circle one time, and this annoys me, as it's not secure and makes it impossible to use secure patterns.
Also I'd like to get a bigger grid, not only 3x3, but maybe 6x6.
Is this even possible? I thought that would a pretty normal android thingy, but it looks like my Sensation is not capable of creating usefull pattern lock screens.
I'm using AOKP by frankenstine. I looked into all Settings that made sense, but I coudn't find any option to change the way the grid appears and behaves.
Maybe you can point me to a solution, or maybe an app, although I doubt an App can change the way a system-fuction works.
Thanks in advance

If your phone is rooted then you can install Jellybam v 4.1.0 custom rom. It has many options of pattern lock like 3 by 3, 4 by 4, 5 by 5 and even 6 by 6. It is a great rom having features of CM, AOKP and Paranoid Android. All in one rom. It's around 300MB if you want to download. Just search for it on the net. I installed it on my phone. Unfortunately, yesterday I flashed CM 9.1.0 otherwise I would have shown you the screenshot of the 6 by 6 pattern lock. Flashed CM cause I constantly flash custom roms on my device.
Hit thanks if I helped.

Try using albinoman's ROM (4.2.2)

Anyone figure out a way to do this on stock rooted phones, without having to flash a new ROM?

[REQ/IDEA] Secure Lockscreen

Hey guys, i got an idea for an interested dev. I dont have a android phone yet, but I've been lurkin around here for a while and have learned a lot from all you guys.
Now, i for one know people who go through others phones. Needless to say, it is annoying. I have an idea to con these guys out of there snooping.
Its a lock screen app that implicates both that we know already, the standard bar swiping one

}
and the combo one
I was thinking maybe we could get an app that let you swipe the bar, like if it was going to open it, but then act like if nothing happened. To actually unlock it, you would put the combo in invisibly, either by swiping through specific sectors, as if the screen were a grid.
This is my idea to you devs for a safer phone.
I like this idea. Would be a good April fools trick too.

hahaaha, i know right. just hope a dev is willing to do it.
Can't imagine it would be that hard since both items are already built.

Hmm well on cyanogenmod you can just hide the "dots" on the Pattern-lock. I use it currently. My current background is black, so that's why it's all black. It's just an extra security measure. Anyone without an android phone wouldn't really know what to do considering it doesn't even show the "Incorrect pattern" message (which you can turn on or off).
Note that this is the normal pattern lock with just everything hidden (except for the cyanogenmod message at the top, which can be turned off/changed to something else.) There's no slide-unlock then pattern-unlock, just pattern-unlock.

[Q] Change screen rotation delay in ICS?

(I am on the unofficial CM9 release)
Is this possible? I know the delay was set by Google to keep the screen from rotating when you don't want it to, but it doesn't bother me if it rotates on accident- and if it did bother me I'd just turn off auto-rotate. I'm not looking to speed up the animation, I want to remove or shorten the screen rotation delay. All I can find on Google is people misunderstanding this request, people saying "GOOGLE MADE IT AS A FEATURE I DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM" and people saying "AOKP ROM lets you change it" Okay well, how did the creator of the AOKP ROM do that? What file needs to be changed to modify screen rotation delay?
Thanks.
P.S: I'm not an idiot when it comes to modifying Android, I'm hardly versed in it, but I'm confident with what I do. I'm not some random idiot.
you need to change framework parameters. you can either change the SETTLE_TIME_MS= in the framework (see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24869) and compile the rom from source,
or try to decompile framework and change with the method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413304 which may work for ics.
both are somewhat time consuming to do though... so people would rather recommend you flash an aokp rom.
Well I'm not too keen on compiling a whole rom lol so I tried the framework.jar edit. I followed the directions exactly and when I rebooted I got the "Android Optimizing" like it does after an OTA and... No change.
Is the feature a default AOKP thing? Cause if it is I may have to check out the Uniporn rom.
In the unicorn Rom control setting at the bottom of general ui is rotation delay. I don't recall if cm9 has same option

Thanks for the help guys, looks like I'll be flashing UNiPoRN. Hopefully I'll be able to MMS with that rom as well.
Put these as your settings it'll work great! (Password is: CINGULAR1)

[APP] LMT Launcher for PIE Control

Hi All!
I stumbled upon this app LMT Launcher which gives PIE Controls (as seen on recent Paranoid ROMs) to ANY Rooted device.
Basically, it's just like the side controls on stock Jelly Bean (and ICS) 4.1 browser except for the whole device!

Makes a nice clean home screen.
I really want to use this as a solid replacement for my dock and status bar.
Home button for the app drawer.
Gotta change icons for camera and phone.
Still looking for the actual contacts app.
Wondering about folders cause that would be cool too.
Also RAM and Battery bars.

[APP] [Launcher] [Any 4.4.x, 5.x 6.x +] Launcher3 from Nexus 5 Custom ROM for Moto X

Hello everyone.
I searched a lot for this Launcher since I got registered in XDA and I found it on a Custom ROM at another specific forum related only to Motorola devices.
This Launcher is named as launcher3.apk, deodexed and is expected to run on any device running 4.4.x (or newer).
The way this is different from the others is the possibility of customize number of Rows and Collums on the Workspace, enable or disable Google Search Bar, resize widgets like on the Samsung phones (due some google widgets can't be resized if 4 or less colums as default on any version), clear, smooth and low battery consumption.
It also has the transparent app drawer and transparent app drawer button different from the google now launcher and older launchers that appears the ICS google launcher or the Jelly Bean one. If someone wants to edit it and recompile so that it could work in 4.3 or older versions, feel free to do it.
I hope all you enjoy it. [emoji23] [emoji23] :good:
