I sent an email to Root-Android.org and they said they could root the razr Maxx hd with this version. Anyone know anything about this site?
Thanks
They advertise one click rooting for ANY Android device. Not happening.

Anyone who has a Razr Maxx HD and has recieved the 4.1 OTA, could you please post your ro.build.fingerprint=
It can be found in /system/build.prop (you do not have to be rooted to read it)
I'd like to see what a Razr Maxx HD is after the 4.1 OTA
Thanks.

Question: Is development for the Razr HD the same as for Razr Maxx HD? As in, could I flash a Razr HD ROM build on my Razr Maxx HD? This is probably a stupid question, but I've looked everywhere and can't find an answer. I'm assuming the answer is no.
So basically I just want to know this: If there are instructions and downloads for How to ________ on a Razr HD, will they also work on Razr Maxx HD?
Thanks in advance.
As long as you are using xt926 roms it should be ok.
Remember razr has has 2 varients one xt925 gsm and xt926 cdma.

I don't want to do anything stupid, so just to confirm: If I read rooting instructions for Razr HD, they will work on my Maxx HD. Correct? All my thanks are belong to you.
EDIT: My phone is on JB and I understand that to root I have to revert to ICS. I understand that whole process... but could you give me a quick rundown of the difference between xt925 and xt926? It seems like every post is about xt925. So anything that's about xt925 I can't use since mine's xt926?
Would Rom Manager work on an unlocked XT926 for recovery and flashing Roms??
Yes it should work fine.

Just make sure you are flashing the recovery for the right phone. Not sure they have added razr hd to the list in rom manager yet. Let us know how it goes.

There's no difference other then battery man. And regardless it's not a RAZR HD.

If you have the latest software and it doesn't have the bootloader unlocked, then you can't flash anything. You can't even root the latest version and they patched the BL unlock two OTAs ago.
I cant even downgrade to a lower ota like if I was soft bricked? So I'm out of luck then with ota 9.30.1

Nope, you can't downgrade. Unfortunately, you are SOL.
