Hi all,
Have a strange "issue" with my Z3 Dual.
I noticed yesterday that the Downloader seemed to be running, even though I hadn't asked the phone to download anything. Sliding the notification open seems to suggest that the download isn't actually running, but simply keeps notifying.
Data is not being sent or received, and the items always seemed to be images. I had thought it was my work exchange email (through Mailwise) or maybe even IM chats downloading images. Uninstalled them and reinstalled and that did nothing.
Finally this morning, I received and email (through my Gmail) from my property manager, and it had a pdf, the same pdf was trying to be downloaded by the manager! So it appears, that on my phone at least, Gmail is asking my downloader to download, without the actual download initiating, but simply keeps a persistent notification there! I also have a nexus 9 with the newest Gmail and its not happening there.
Has anyone else had this issue? I'm about to roll back latest update of Gmail to see if it fixes.....

Rolling back Gmail to original version has not helped.
It has happened to me, and it seems to be when using autodownload on any of the email apps if it begins to download and you suddenly lose the data is connection it gets stuck.
Just go to settings and apps and go to the Download app and clear the cache and data and that will take care of the persistent notification, then try to adjust your autodownload settings.

Agree with everything you've said, but in gmail, i've auto download of attachments on wifi to OFF, and Images to "ASk before showing". Not sure there are any other settings I can access?
I have, for the time being, turned OFF notifications from the download app - this is obviously not idea if I really DID have an actual download of a large size or being stuck I have no way of monitoring it.
Open to any other suggestions / ideas

Same happened to me (also have Z3 dual) but updating Gmail app seemed to fix this issue.
I have the dual sim z3. I originally had my active tmobile SIM in SIM slot 2 when I put it in SIM Slot 1 the problem went away. Rebooted and no more download manager in the background.
hi,
until last night everything was ok
but today
(it is a coincidence, the update?)
after upgrading my Gear S2 (R720) (all right),
when I want to go to "see other watches dials" or "see other applications"
the Samsung Gear APP, after a quick "loading", displays white screen with error
"{"returnCode":"0","errorCode":"0003","errorMsg":"System Error!-[0003]"}"
for the rest, everything works.
I uninstalled the APP, the Gear S Plugins and Samsung Accesory Service. Also formatted Gear S2.
reinstalled everything but the error remains.
for the rest, everything works.
what could have happened?
thank you
I just picked up my Gear S3 (great!!) and I have the exact same error when clicking 'view more watchfaces' and 'view more apps'.
Any help greatly appreciated because on the internets I can't find anything (((
Fixed it by deleting all Samsung apps cache on the phone. This results in a soft reset on the watch. After re-pairing it works!
You don't have to reset your watch. Just wait and try again later. Looks like the server problem of the Gear shop. From time to time I get the same error, but after a while (20-30 minutes later) everything works fine.
thank you all

are more than 24 hours that does not work
we are not the only ones: in playstore there are already several complaints about this problem
Still working here, just checked
exact same problem on s2
Now fixed. Not even sure if what I did was the reason for the fix but here goes. Removed all relevant gear apps from my Nexus 6p and switched off. Switched on my old nexus 5 and paired with s2 installing Samsung apps as necessary. Light reset and once logged in all worked. Could see all my apps and could download. Then did the reverse back to my nexus 6p and it is all working fine again.
update: the third time, that uninstalling / reinstalling the app, everything is back to work
Hi.
Have the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier BT version paired with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
I'm receiving all notifications with the exception of TXT messages even though I believe the setting seems to be correct.
Anyone else experience a problem receiving message notifications?
Ed
Do you use the stock Samsung SMS app on the phone? If not, that may be the issue.

Thank you.
I sent a txt to myself via the watch (no prompt to change app as using the default app already).
Phone received the txt as did the watch.
Watch now displaying notifications of txt's received without making any system changes.
Must have been caught in a lost loop or something.
Weird but I will certainly remember this solution should it occur again.
Cheers.
interesting. I also sent a text to myself and this started working with the default SMS app.
I have the same problem, but that did not fix it for me.
I have Gear s3 Frontier. Number sync on . Connected to s6 edge plus via Bluetooth.
It has been working fine. It quit a few days ago, and I couldn't get it fixed, ended up uninstalling everything and doing a reset on the watch. This is terribly inconvenient, setting up NumberSync again etc.
I go to notification settings on the phone in the gear app and Messages is not listed anymore. I get the texts on the watch, but only if I go into the app. Any help?

That's the problem. "messages" is now missing from there. It's not listed at all. No option to turn it on. Only way is to factory reset the gear and Uninstall and re install gear app on the phone.
I'm in France and i have exactly the same problem since a few days without doing anything in the settings of the gear s3 classic or in the phone (an s7) : all the notifications except sms and "messages" is no more in the gear app settings. Sorry for my english and thank you for the futur help.
Francis.
+1 same problem is that Messages is not showing up as an option within the Gear app's Notification tab/window. It was there previously before recent update on S3 Frontier (using S7 Edge).

I haven't found a fix yet. Only thing that fixes if for a while is completely in installing gear app and resetting the gear itself. But then you have to set everything up again. Very frustrating. I opened a ticket with att and Samsung, haven't heard back in a couple weeks though. Lol
Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Hopefully they fix it soon...
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Same issue here - factory reset of the phone was the only thing that fixed it. Then started to do the same thing a couple days later.
Don't forget to set notifications to On in the phone app
Hi there, had the same issue. I found that although the phone was set to notifications in settings...that in the actual message app (standard one) under settings there, my notifications were set to OFF! So, seems like you need to set notifications ON in app on phone, on the phone settings, in the Gear app..and make sure you give it some sort of vibrate/noise in settings on watch, then it should work! :good:
I've had the issue crop up a couple times but was able to resolve it by activating the cellular on the watch and sending a text to the phone. Yesterday, that didn't work. Today I noticed that instead of 2 Bluetooth connections for the S3 on the phone, there is now 1, shows call audio. Wondering if this is the root of the problem. Can others who have the problem check and see if this is occurring on your phones as well?
here's the fix: Go into your app mananger on your phone, click on the Gear S plugin app, then click on storage and clear the cache. Restart your gear s3 and it's back to normal

I am having the exact same issue as you with my s3. Did you ever find a solution? I have searched far and wide but im stumped. Even had Samsung look at the watch, but of course they found nothing.
I'm having this problem now too... It just started out of nowhere. I can see the message on my watch if I scroll to the notifications screen, but it does not vibrate nor show when I twist my wrist... I have tried everything... Every single thing necessary is on. I've even done a factory reset WITH uninstalling all the apps on my phone and installing everything in order again. Setup the watch as new. This isn't cool. Half of the reason I have this watch is for notifications. Seriously, Sammy needs to get it together! I've been having WAY too many problems with this watch in the last couple months.
Anyone found a fix? Nothing anyone has mentioned previously works.
Having the same issue here. No freaking idea what's going on. Have tried just about everything. Textra works but AM doesn't. Even Gmail doesn't work. So basically it seems like Google apps aren't working
I have had the Note 8 for about 2 weeks now and earlier this week I just started noticing the freezing problem with the contacts and messages application. I have tried clearing data/cache. I have tried going into safe mode and removing third party apps. I have factory reset my phone as well. I have noticed that holding the contact down to select it will work, but simply tapping it freezes the phone. This goes for both the default messages and contacts apps.

The contact app is the same for both messaging and phone. It's a stand alone app. I've seen a few people with this issue, and am curious what causes it. I have had no issues with my so my guess is it has something to do with your setup.
Take a look at the below and see if any work
1.) What version of Contacts is in stalled on your phone?
I'm running v 3.4.04.4 Contacts and v 1.0.01.25 contacts storage. If you are not on either of those go grab the APK from APK MIRROR
2.) Check your account settings
Start with you Google account and see if there is a sync error. If not there then check Samsung cloud. If not there check your sync settings in the contact app. If there is any issue syncing it could be causing the crash.
3.) see if all of your contacts cause it to crash or just a specific one.
It could be an issue with something one app is trying to add to your contacts. I've seen linked in cause contacts to crash, and I've seen Facebook cause contacts to crash. If either of those are syncing with your contacts (check permissions) they could be causing the issue.
4.) Finally back on my S7 edge for some reason the contacts sync got jacked up when moving from my Note 4. The only thing that fixed it was running this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.ivary.ContactsSyncFix) Haven't had an issue since.
If any of these work let me know so we can help spread the word. Thanks.

Hi. I had similar problem. Try find solutions on web, none. Complaint to samsung facebook, no response. So I decided to;
1. Do System Update... but it says I have the latest installed already.
2. Open PlayStore, found out I set Auto Update to OFF. So I manually update everything (except Games apps)
3 Open Galaxy Store also Auto Update turned OFF. So do manual update everything (except games again)
4 Restart Phone
Dont know which steps solved it, but I dont have issue with Contacts or Message anymore. Its been more than 3 days now... no issue. So I guess you can try the above and see if it helps.
Its started to happen to me but while im in a game not on the phone or messenger.

If it's in game and not the contacts app try adjusting your performance mode in Gamer Tuner.
If it's not that then the game is probably the issue.

Hello,
I have the Note 10+ and the new Galaxy Watch 4. Since a recent update now on the phone it says that the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 Plugin keeps stopping. I've tried wiping cache and data on the plugin, the wear app on the phone, wiping cache and dalvik, going back to the last version all without any resolution. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and if there's a fix for it.
Thanks in advanced

I'm having the same problem on a Note 20 ultra.
The watch is discovered by my phone. They Bluetooth pair just fine, but I can never get past the "Agree" screen to actually get the watch connected to galaxy wear before the app crashes.
- Removed and uninstalled the Galaxy Watch Plugin (for the 2018 model)
- Unpaired my Galaxy watch (2018)
- Uninstalled Smart Things (Suggestion on another forum)
- Uninstalled Android System Webview (suggestion on another forum)
- Factory reset my phone and did not restore
Nothing I do works, Samsung support was rude to say the least. They are replacing the watch as that's what they suspect the problem is.
I suspect crappy app development.

I finally got mine to work. Is your phone stock or is it rooted and bootloader unlocked? I found that my issue was actually due to a plugin or whatever in magisk, once I disabled it, I was able to set everything up fine!

I don't blame you. Have you looked at the plugin version and seen if you can roll back to a later apk to test it? Cleared cache/data and uninstalled and reinstalled? Any weird third party apps installed?

I was suspecting third party apps so I just factory reset and uninstalled and many apps as I was allowed to uninstall. (Carriers here have almost no bloatware).
Unfortunately the version I have for the plugin appears to be the only version. I might be able to roll back the galaxy wear app. The only other thing I can think of is an issue with the latest update for my phone.

I have similar issue and no resolution. My phone is OnePlus 7T Pro and the Galaxy Watch4 plugin keeps crashing if I try to open Galaxy Wearable app. This started happening only on the second evening after installing that app and pairing the watch.
I have looked at the stacktrace by sending feedback and checking the details. The stacktrace indicates my crashes have something to do with Samsung Pay which isn't even available in my country (Finland).

I could for sure remove samsung pay, i don't even use it (I use google pay).
This is really dumb though, it shouldn't be this difficult to setup a watch.

Interesting.... My phone has samsung pay on it but I have it frozen with Titanium backup and so far no issues here. Other than Samsung did an EPIC fail releasing this watch with no BP monitor since that's the main reason I bought it. Luckily I found a work-around here on XDA to fix that

If I'm interpreting the stack trace correctly, the problem is that the app (Watch4 plugin) receives an invalid response or something it doesn't understand. It's trying to update something related to Samsung Pay from a server or from watch.
I guess it will get fixed with an update and hopefully soon.
PS. Next time when the crash dialog pops up could you press the report button and then check the details of what would get sent? In the details there's a button to open the stack trace. Check if the first few rows mention anything about Samsung Pay

After today's update to Galaxy Wearable app and to the watch the crashes are now gone. Unfortunately, it won't let me actually see the log files of what happened. Just lets me send them off to Samsung via Samsung members. I can't even view the logs there either.

GUYS I GOT IT WORKING!!!
1) Uninstall the galaxy watch 4 plugin
2) Clear cache and atorage
3) Unpair the watch4 if it actually Bluetooth paired
3) Download and install the Galaxy Watch 3 plugin (I had to download the apk outside the ayatore)
4) setup your watch again. I was shocked when the app didn't crash.

had this same issue today, tried everything.
managed to fix, heres what i did
uninstalled watch manager plugin and galaxy wearable completely
install galaxy wearable
install Galaxy Watch4 Plugin_v2.2.11.21120251 apk manually
start setup and all fine, seems its an issue with the latest plugin Galaxy Watch4 Plugin_v2.2.11.22012751
all back working and paired now
hope this helps someone
