Does anyone know the exact directory of the applications folder. I had to install documents to go before i install documents to go full but now i have both icons in the apllications folder. i want to get rid of one
apk files are in /system/app, but I'd think you could uninstall the application cleaner by going to the Settings menu rather than just deleting the apk.
it's a stupid question though.
i want the ics music player be my default music player, thus, i had done all works to push it inside system/app and then reboot.
all went great.
but, im using Gingerxperia v22 with Walkman, so, is it ok for me to just delete the walkman.apk in system/app with root explorer? or it's just a partial deletion, i want it to be deleted thoroughly. just for reassurance whether im doing it all correctly.
thanks in advance (im x8 user)
ps: i deleted just walkman.apk manually via root explorer, is it enough?
Yes, the app is uninstalled now, but may you also want to delete the app data? Navigate to /data/data with your explorer and delete the folder containing the data of the walkman app!
You could also take a look at the app "TitaniumBackup" (avalible on market). It is able to backup and uninstall all apps, including preinstalled system apps.
i see. thanks for the information.
Thanks!! Helped me aswell!
It seems that TB is good for integrating most updates but on a few important ones using Google services it seems to break the device.
What has everyone else done to integrate updates to save on space?

Im guessing the procedure stays the same for most other apps? Except some get renamed and go in system/app?
Also what about apps with an odex file? Just move the app/apk the odex files doesn't get touched does it?

the apps downloaded from play store or any other sites are always deodexed so if ur rom is odexed then delete the odex file u want to move apk of and then move apk ....like if u want to move prebuildgmscore.apk in odexed rom then 1st delete its .odex file in system/app and then move apk and set permissions and reboot and thanks
Hi folks,
hope I'm posting this in the correct place.
I have my DCIM folder on my SD card, and I have deleted the folder instead of an individual photo in the folder several times now.
Is there a way to prevent the deletion of this folder, by locking it or installing an app that will lock the folder, but not hide it or impact the usability in any way?
Change the permission to read only using any file browser like xplore..
Permission cannot be changed unless its a system folder..
The only option is to be careful not to delete any folder you don't want to or download ES File Explorer from the play store and enable Recycle Bin so you can restore back your folder in case you delete them.
I've installed the ES File Explorer, let's see if that does the trick. Thanks!
I have two files under Documents & Other in the Files folder named MyWorkLog.txt and ssoLogs.txt that I don't believe to be important and would like to delete, but I don't want to screw my phone up. Are they safe to delete or no?

I would check the timestamp of its last modification, and have a look into the text files.
Then decide if the files are currently used and contain important data, or not.
Maybe better to move the files into a backup folder first, check if everything still works fine, and delete the files later.
It is just a lay out of codes that make up your screen usual when you download PicsArt and sometimes your texting/messaging app.
