Ok yep, sorry didn't realise the sweep2sleep was different in this kernel. For other kernels, it's sweep right to turn on, sweep left to turn off screen. But this works just fine
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
Edit: just like rohan's kernel, I seem to randomly have touch screen problems (trying to turn on the screen) where all the capacitive and lcd display does not register touch at all (force to use power button to hard reboot) Seems to be a big with the s2w implementation

Just wondering, is there a way to make the sweep2sleep go the opposite direction from sweep2wake? For me they both start on the back button and end up on recent apps, and going the other easy doesn't make it sleep. Otherwise, this kernel is great.
Edit: I tried kernel tuner, it doesn't work.

It only gives one option for setting S2W. If you want I can make one kernel for Back --> Menu and one kernel for Menu --> Back. If users want two kernels for S2W with these options please let me know.

Fusion Kernel for the One S (S4)
Lastest Version: v1.1 (7/18/12)
This kernel is no longer supported. I have completely re-based from scratch and released a new kernel, Fusion Ultimate. Please check it out.
Thanks for all the support.
This is a kernel based off of the lastest US T-Mobile sources that just released.
It is compatible with all One S's with an S4 processor.
*Disclaimer*
Code:
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device.
By using this you are taking full responsibility blah blah blah....
...you get the point
As there are many people working on ROMs for the One S, I have decided to start maintaining a custom kernel for it. Again, this is based off of the TMOUS kernel sources that just released a few days ago. I will add more and more features to it for new releases. Note that this is only compatible with stock Sense-based ROMs, not AOSP-based ROMs like CM9 or AOKP. Maybe in the future I will create an AOSP version. Enjoy
v1.0 (Initial Release)
- Based off the T-Mobile US kernel sources
- All features from mdeejay's latest virtuous kernel
- Overclocked to 2.1Ghz by default --> use SetCpu or similar app to change
- Added SmartassV2 governor (gives extraordinary battery life and performance, look here)
- tweaked SmartassV2 frequencies for better compatibility
- insecure kernel (root in adb)
v1.1
- Fixed CPU issues from virtuous kernel (hopefully)
- Enabled init.d scripts support with busybox run-parts
- Reverted to stock GPU 2D and 3D frequencies
- CPU now default 1.5Ghz
- SmartassV2 as default governor
- make CPU1 (second core) to be online
- good battery life

v1.0 (boot-071712.img): http://d-h.st/vtX
v1.1 (boot-071812.zip): http://d-h.st/jsd
How to install:
Flash the zips with TWRP recovery.
Kernels will be in zips now. The reason is because some stock patch scripts from /system/etc were interfering with the CPU frequency settings, hence some the issues from Virtuous kernel. The zips flash the patch scripts as well as the kernel.

What he means is do the clock settings stick after reboot. In virtuous kernel it went back to Max from boot and the settings had to be set again.

That was one problem. Some people, myself included, also had an issue where the kernel settings were only applied to CPU0. CPU1 would stay at whatever the kernel's default min/max speeds were regardless of the settings in SetCPU (or any other cpu app for that matter).

[KERNEL][GPL][3.0.y]Advanced Sense Kernel - r2
The Beast Mode kernel was buit by sbryan12144 from Team Blackout. It based on Team Virtuous HTC msm7x30 3.0 kernel. A month later, p2pjack forked blackout kernel repo and started writing his own kernel, then he named it "Beast Mode MOD kernel". Unfortunately, 2 weeks later, p2pjack had bought a Nexus 4 and moved on. So i PMed him to let me take over his work and continue working on it. This is what he said to me:

Changelog is on Github. There are some improvements for performance and power (battery life). And r3 will be released until s2w code for synaptic_3k touchscreen driver is available. r3 will have many changes, like new undervolting code, GPU overclocking code, ....
So, here is the link to r2a beta version, please BACKUP YOUR PHONE before test it: http://www.mediafire.com/?5s00rucrxhrmolh
Trick:
How to check which touch screen driver you have?:
Download 'Terminal Emulator' App from Google Play, then type this in:
Code:
cat /sys/android_touch/vendor
Then you will see some kind of 'code' like this:
Code:
ATMEL_blahblah_blahblahblah :p
, that means you have Atmel touch screen driver.
Sweep2wake feature:
Authored by show-p1984. If you don't know how it is, please spend a little time to watch this Video:
To active/control it, you should use ViperDHD ROM, there is a option in Venom Tweaks (Setting Application -> Scroll down a bit -> Venom Tweaks), you can control it (Only can 'Enable' or 'Disable' for now, 'Enable (no backlight buttons)' option hasn't worked yet, DO NOT TRY IT!).
If you use another Sense ROMs (Sabsa Prime/Bliss, Blackout, Virtuous Infinity...), download "Sweep2Wake-Widget" app from Google Play Store. It's a Widget, so use it as a Widget, download it, then add the Widget to your home screen, tap it. When it turn to green color, s2w is ready/
Get the 'last_kmsg' and 'kmsg' files:
To get those file. Just use a File Manager app which can access to "/" partion. Then access to "/proc", you will find them in there.

Everyone, sorry to disappoint but this kernel is now dead. Due to a serious serious issue with the git client, me trying to delete 1 repo caused the deletion of my kernels repo instead. There will be no builds anymore, I would have to start from scratch and I do not remember every line of code I have changed for the past 4 months.
My sincerest apologies to you guys, I am still shocked myself right now, I can't believe it did that.
I will keep downloads up for now but I doubt the kernel will work bug free into the future without keeping up with driver updates and such. If there are any GPL concerns from any mods here on xda, please let me know and I will take the links down. I had source up until it got deleted. Thanks for the help, experience, and the times guys. You made this kernel a wonderful learning experience for me. Look out for my app in the next few months guys, its my new project if git doesn't screw me on that too.

Didn't even realize torch was a built in app.
It doesn't work, just force closes if I touch the bulb. I've never used the app before though so I might be doing it wrong

No mirrors please, if I take the downloads down, I do it for a good reason (it could hurt your device). There has been IMEI issues with all CM based kernels for d2 devices recently. In order to get your IMEI back you have to reinstall rom, gapps, and then the kernel all in one go. I will build with latest fixes and source sometime tonight for you guys.

How do you get the source? Is it from htcdev.com? If it is, they updated it to 4.4.2 already.

Thanks man. And also do you know how people make a kernel that allows the htc button to work for the htc one? It would be so great to have a menu button working as the htc button or use it for other stuff.

How is the progress? You should ask for some help too. You should try messaging the people who made the htc button kernel and ask them for some information or help. It would be nice.

Yeah I've been cherry picking commits. Anybody who wants to help can. The kernel source is listed in cmvienneau/android_kernel_htc_msm8960. I'm working on it right now.
