Nexus 4 skins "protection" - Nexus 4 Accessories

Ok sooo im planning on getting a carbon skin for my nexus 4. I know they don't offer drop protection but lets say I drop the phone and the back cracks, would the cracks be visible through the skin or no?? Thanks in advance guys.

Nope, it should be covered. Unless the cracks get to the camera part though.

That is one tough phone. I ordered a few thin cases for the phone but since seeing these videos they are probably not necessary. A case would ruin a beautiful phone.
The camera is recessed in the North American version about a mm into the case . Just be vigilant where you set the phone down. I am thinking no case is needed for this phone.
No case or screen protector for me
that's impressive...I wouldn't try it with my iJunk

How do we know he isnt saying that he superglued it together before the terst?
He didnt...dont you speak Thai?
LOL!
Just be warned that if it hits the screen the right way, your screen is dead. I'm using a tpu case with a lip to protect the screen a bit. I'd be fine without the case though...
I am still trying to think what the screen reminds me of. The bubbled out effect.
Its like an old product....
omg lol that's the first time i've watched one of these and cringed. that is one tough phone!

dbrand.com N4 skins

Great skins for a great price.
Seems like it might look nice with the LG bumper. Might have to give it a try.

Carbon one looks cool. Anyone tried yet?
A few people on reddit bought it and they said it has been great so far in terms of fitment. One had the carbon one and the other I believe had titanium or leather.
Really liking the look of the titanium one, might order one later this week. If anyone beats me to it, please post pictures!
Covering the back? NO-GO!

So are these protective skins, or just decorative stickers?
Im leaning towards titanium silver and black leather. I just wish it were legit leather

That's exactly why I bought one..tired of having to find a rough cloth to put the phone on so it doesn't slide all over the place. Purchased a carbon fiber one, hoping I get it next week.

I love it! lol, nexus doesn't slide every where now and it makes the phone look pretty awesome, can't speak for the leather looking ones but the carbon fiber one looks amazing. I'll take pics with my friends phone later.
I definitely recommend this if you don't mind covering up the glass back, I prefer it this way TBH, the effect is cool, but not cool engh I'd keep this sort of protection off.
Just received my titanium skin, it looks fantastic. Haven't applied it yet (I'm at work; haven't even taken it out of its vinyl pouch), but here's a quick picture so you can get an idea of the texture. I scratched at it a bit, it feels a lot harder than you'd expect.
Finally applied it, took maybe five minutes. The fit is perfect and it feels very nice. Photos don't really do it justice.
That's looks nice.can't wait to get my carbon fiber one.how long did it take for shipping?
wow looks very nice!

atFolix Screen Protector Unboxing and Applying

So yeah, here is the video for you guys
If it helped don't forget to :good:
Some guy told me you didn't get the pixelated or blurry effect on it, but you get it :\
It is the same as before :\
Any recommendation on a good screen protector? Doesn't have to be anti-reflex anymore, tired of it, they all blow I hear Spigen was a good one, but kind of expensive also..
All anti reflective protectors I have seen will produce a poor screen image, you need to get the normal ones. I have the atFolix ultra clear and its fine.

Not that I can see.

Got the clear version and it's good and clear. Took some doing to get it on but that's more down to the phones design.

Scratched my screen :'(

Hi guys i have scratched my screen i know i should have been using a screen protector but just not go around to buying a new set.
Any way could someone point me in the direction of getting a new screen.
Also is it worth letting LG do it iv called them and the warranty does not cover the glass.
Any parts will have to be in the UK as i am also i had a look on ebay and have no idea what is official and what is not
Let me know guys thanks
What kind of scratch? Screen protectors can just cover it up so that you can ignore it and prevent further scratches. This saves at least $40 and prevent s you from having to open the phone up

Its a pretty deep scratch and goes from one side of the screen to the other
try a thick wet screen protector first then see if that fixes it
Would Liquid armor fill in the scratch? Best screen protection I've used to date, and I've had a fair share of phones

If your screen is not to scratched, you can install a privacy screen protector or a matte one, and you wont notice it anymore. Remember this will work only if it's not to much damage on the screen. Send photos to see the damage if you have them.
Liquid Armor will not Fix or Fill or Protect you screen.
It may only give you Water Spill-Resistant for a short time.
Please test it with Soil, Dust or Sand & you will learn a big lesson like my friend...!

Are Xoskins easy to get ion the UK i think i looked for them before.
Whats your thoughts on these compared to the Xo skin ones.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPIGEN-SG...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item2c6a928c9e
I have used this screen protector before and it was pretty could you just have to make sure theres not one spec of dust on the screen before hand...
I'm also for XO Skin. Spectacular stuff; and it WILL take away scratches that aren't super deep. Spigen seems good, but its a dry application that's more of a hard film. It may take away some light scratches, but I don't think it will get in and fill the deeper scratches that you may have. XO would be your best bet. There's other wet protectors, but from what I've tried, the others are junk.

Scratched !

Within less then 24 hours I managed to scratch it . Very unlucky .. I guess this means im not returning it..
I tried some polished stuff but obviously it aint plastic so didnt work ..

Ouch that sucks. My Gear 1 is still holding up fine after a year.
i have a custom screen protector on it so you cant see the scartch anymore , im gonna order a real one online probably ebay ill take a pic when i replace it .. the scratch is almost one centimeter long its very superficial you an only see it at certain angle .
and hey i was tempted to return it like that the guy may not notice it... it was bought at those stores where they dont ask many questions , I guess i just like the watch anyways with a stainless bracelet on it looks kick ass .
That is the very reason I have screen protector on. I can't hardly tell it is on and at least I know it won't get scratches.

Hey I got one off of Amazon by Skinomi. It has covers for like 90% of the device 19$
Just to correct some incorrect information above. The Gear 2 AND the Gear 1 both had Gorilla glass 3. As we all know glass scratches when in contact with the right material (grit/sand). It won't scratch from a shirt cuff button or a jacket metal stud however.
You can always see which products use which kind of Gorilla glass here:-

Ya but they can't prove that. Maybe there was a fault in the production of the glass and his didn't get the protective oil coating, or the glass wasn't tempered right. You never know,

Just dishonest, Lets just say your moral compass needs to be adjusted
That's unlucky. I haven't had my Gear 2 long, but it's still in perfect condition (almost). I guess I'll be extra careful from now on.
Just a scratch, don't sweat it :silly:
I just got my Zagg cover today and I will definitely put it on tomorrow. I hope it fits correctly considering it's clearly labeled for the 'Galaxy Gear 2', I just have the Gear 2. I don't know why they didn't get that right.

Yeah mine scratched as well. It was a minor scratch and it disappeared when I applied a zagg protector. Now the screen isn't quite as beautiful but this watch is really about functionality when it comes down to it.
On the plus side, you can't even seen that there is a protector on it at a glance. The edges blend well into the brushed metal.

It scratched, but you don't know how serious the scratch is. It could have easily damaged the watch itself.

2cm long, lower left corner. Totally avoidable too, just wasn't paying attention.
