Hi All,
I can't post on Sean's thread since I am a new guy...
Well - I have flashed custom rom from Sean's - seanzscreams :good: (SKy JB 1/10/12) and it's great - thank you for the great work,
Few issues I did found :
When using a car charger the phone gets really really hot...
The BT bug (cyanogen's 10 known) and I tested 4.4 fix which seems to work for me - although after 4.4 fix - my in call audio was routed to the speaker...??? Maybe there is something in the thread there - I should check...
I use an application which is called Peak stocks to follow on stocks - and it does not show the graph for some reason... (it was working fine on stock rom and on sky ICS)
also - I am missing the Stock voice SW from Samsung (which is actually Vlingo based,,,) it was working great rather than the voice commander used currently which is not recognizing my English very well...
The home screen shortcut edit does nםt work after you save - I tried adding a direct dial shortcut and it wasn't showing...
The phone responsiveness is quite good, personally I set the touch sensivity to 100%.
Missing also is the contact join function from various accounts like Skype, Google, whatsapp etc...
Overall for a development ROM it is very solid and good
Thanks for a great work on Skyrocket Jelly Bean
When pressing the Back button from the dialer - it will not go back to the main screen.
Had I was able to post my finding there I would have...

The graph that was not showing is now visible on peak stocks - to fix that I had to disable the "Force 2D apps to use GPU" under developer tab.
it now works
it might indicate something with the GPU processing on CM10?
Updates after 24 hours
Well,
It has been almost 24 hrs of use,
I put the phone on silent using "quiet mode".
Left it alone at 93% battery,
After 5 hours of non use - the battery was at 37%, wifi was on. screen was off.
Will keep on posting.

After making a clean install on SKY-JB 5.0 base and its update -
Battery life has improved - I got 16 hrs and 6% left, while playing temple-run syncing emails, and using the screen (35%)
1080p playback is still having color issues
There is an issue with the sensors - sometimes they hang (temple run...)
I'll try the new update...

Hi Guys,
Yesterday I had a strange thing on the phone -
I plugged it into the usb cable I've been using to connect it to both Charger and PC, after a few min I started smelling something is burning...
I touched the phone and it was so hot - discennected the charger immidiately, then noticed the cable was melted, also small damage to the usb surrounding on the phone
I had to clean the contactors and replace the USB cable - now it seems o.k - Watch out...
Changed Kernel???

Hi,
an update on battery life -
Charged the phone using USB (from PC) to 100%.
Left it alone using Ondemand CPU governer for the night.
No Calls, Wifi was left on, Sync on.
I got ~18.5 hrs until it went down to 7%.
See screenshot:
Amazing job - considering the use of Temple run game

Hi guys,
I Also post this thread in the Razr I forum, but since its more a general issue instead of a specific Motorola issue, i choose to post it here as well.
I have the Razr I since 3 days now, i orderd it via ebay on a german website. I really like the phone, its amasing fast and works really great.
But since i use the phone, there's something wrong with the battery (i think!). The phone just randomly shuts down for about 40 till 60 times a day, my record for keeping it on is about 1 hour. It doesn't just falls out, but shuts down like if your battery is empty of if you push the on/off button.
This is what I know for now, by observing:
- The phone is working correctly (on of off, doesn't matter)
- The battery gives an empy signal out of nowhere (but isn't really empty)
- Due to the empty signal Android thinks the phone is empty and starts the automaticly shutdown process
- When the phone is off, i can just turn it on and the battery level is where it was before
- This cycle happens randomly, in 1 minute til 1 houre...
What i've done so far:
- Searched on google, a few similar problems, but no solutions
- Caliberate the battery
- Factory reset
- Disable apps that may couse a restart (but i don't think its a software issue tough)
- Playing with different settings, profiles etc
All those things doesn't change the randomly showing cycle that i've wrote above.
I also send an e-mail to the company where i orderd the device, so i maybe can return it and get an other one.
By the way, the phone was on JB when i received it.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or is it just what my own conclusion is, a broken battery?
I hope someone can help thiking about my problem!
Cheers
The purpose of this thread is do some controlled testing with the TF700/Dock combination in order to try and identify the battery drain that many users have been experiencing while their tablet is docked. A select group of users have volunteered to participate in these controlled tests. Of course, anyone is free to join in on the testing, but please note that you will NOT be able to use the TF700 while testing (which could take all weekend) and that *ALL* data will need to be wiped in order to participate in the testing!
General Notes:
- In order to do this testing, we **WILL** be wiping **ALL** data on the device. If you want to be able to restore to your original configuration when the testing is complete, please make sure that you have a full nandroid backup!!
- Please record the versions of everything before starting the test. A list of what "everything" includes is listed below. Also, please make sure that you are at the versions specified for each test "scenario" before testing - this is critically important!
- You will need to leave your TF700 docked and completely "unused" during the tests - please don't "cheat" so that we can keep the tests valid!
- As hard as it may be to resist, please don't change *ANY* settings from the recommended settings for each test scenario! A change that seems completely innocent may just end up being the culprit! We need all testers to keep all settings the EXACTLY the same, or else this testing won't be successful!
So far we have (6) testers - (3) that have the drain problem and (3) that do not, which actually works out perfect! Here are the (6) "official" testers:
- fsured (does have the drain problem)
- Dock: DOCK-EC21N-0105
- Tablet: PAD-EC20T-0216
- Drenus (does NOT have the drain problem)
- Dock: DOCK-EC20N-0207
- Tablet: PAD-EC20T-0216
- berndblb (does NOT have the drain problem)
- Dock: DOCK-EC21N-0105
- Tablet: PAD-EC20T-0216
- workdowg (does have the drain problem)
- Dock: DOCK-EC21N-0105
- Tablet: PAD-EC20T-0216
- ntunix (does have the drain problem)
- Dock: ??????
- Tablet: ??????
- jtrosky (does NOT have the drain problem)
- Dock: DOCK-EC20N-0207
- Tablet: PAD-EC20T-0216
I will reserve the following (5) posts in this thread - one for each of the controlled test scenarios. Hopefully, we'll determine something in five tests...
I will post the first scenario ASAP - although, I may have a delay with the first one as I need to unexpectedly go and meet my parents today for "brunch"! I'll try to get it ready before I leave, but I don't want to make any promises.
Like I said, even if you are not an "official" tester, please feel free to test along with us!
Before we do anything, can each of the (6) official testers please PM me with the following version info:
- Bootloader Version (including US/WW values)
- CROMi-X Version (including US/WW and DEODEX/ODEX values)
- Kernel type and version
- PAD Version (from Settings->About)
- MobileDock Version (from Settngs->About)
Thank you!!

26. After 4 hours have gone by, "open" the device and check the table and dock power levels and report them on the thread!
Thank you for your assistance!!!
Test Scenario 2
Basically, just keep the configuration from test 1, but added a Google account, let sync and then let sleep for another (4) hours.
Please record before/after battery levels.
Change Details
- Plug device back into power while doing this
- Add a Google account:
- Settings -> Add account
- Select "Google" and "Existing"
- Add account info and leave "Keep me up to date with news and offers from Google Play" checked
- Leave "Keep this tablet backed up with my Google Account"
At this point, go into Settings -> Google account and monitor it while it syncs everything up.
After everything is done syncing and all Play apps have been updated (4 apps automatically updated in my case), go back to the home screen and let's let it sleep for another (4) hours and see if that changes anything (don't forget to disconnect the power cable again!!)
Thank you!
Test scenario 3
Simply undock and redock the tablet and let it sit overnight!
Test scenario 4
1. Install "Battery Drainer" app from Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batterydrainer)
2. Run Battery Drainer and leave all options selected except for "Vibrate" (don't want to wear out the "vibrator" device just to test battery drain levels!).
3. Get your device down to about 70% on the tablet.
4. Let sleep for (4) hours and report the battery levels.
Here is the full URL for the Batter Drainer app - there is more than one with the same name - please make sure to get the correct one!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batterydrainer
NOTE: Obviously, leave tablet powered on and "open" while Battery Drainer app is running!
Reserved for test scenario 5
FYI - here are my results after (4) hours in sleep mode with test scenario #1:
After four hours, both my tablet and dock battery were still @ 100%! I'm really interested to the results of the users that had the drain problem (I never did)...
Maybe four hours isn't long enough of a test?
Since I obviously got a head-start on the test compared to everyone else, I'm going to keep my tablet sleeping and check the battery levels in another few hours, just to see what the battery levels are every few hours...

What's next?
Should we try connecting the Google account? WiFi is set to never disconnect by default, but without anything to sync, there probably would not be any drain.
Or we could run the tablet down to 70% and see what happens when the dock starts charging it.
4 hours - 99 / 98

I turned my wifi off for about two hours because I didn't have wifi connection.

I think 4 hours is plenty! I have done an informal test with my tablet in it's "normal" setup over the last 2 days (wrote down the battery level when putting it to sleep and waking up). While the percentages varied, it always lost some charge over 4 hours. At least 1% - which is totally acceptable with WiFi always on - and up to 5%. Interestingly enough I had the largest drain during a 7 hour sleep (from 97/88 to 68/80) on a hotel network. So far I have not seen that kind of battery loss on my home network.
But that's another scenario - back to our tests:
If it doesn't loose even 1% over a 3-hour period I would say: There is no drain. So waiting more than 3 hours doesn't serve any purpose imo.

I think 4 hours should be enough as well. When I had drain, it was more than a few percentage of loss per hour. I am interested in how the loss changes when the tab hits 70% though.
And what convention are we using for charge level? Tablet/dock or dock/tablet?

Good question! I would say dock/tablet since that is how the icons are displayed.
FYI - I just checked my battery levels after 7 hours of sleep and it's *still* at 100/100!
I like the idea of adding a Google account at this point to see if that makes any significant difference.
Let's do this next:
- Plug device back into power while doing this
- Add a Google account:
- Settings -> Add account
I'll also update the OP with everyones dock model number (for those that supplied it).
Thanks everyone!
EDIT: OP updated with Dock and Tablet version information (except for @ntunix - I didn't get any info from him) - @ntunix - if you recorded the info, please forward it and I'll add it to the OP.
Also, please don't disable wifi or change any other settings during these tests (even if you don't have anything to connect to). It's extremely important to keep the settings exactly the same for everyone!!
So far, only one user actually lost any battery charge during the first test - @drunus - very strange - especially since he turned wifi off for two hours of the test! Don't know what's up with that!
EDIT 2: Updated Test Scenario #2 post with the changes above - Adding Google account will "officially" be "Test Scenario #2".

I wouldn't read too much into that. It's just a couple of % and I don't trust the accuracy of the battery reading very much. 5% or 10% tells us: Something happened. But 1% or 2%.... could be just a fluke.

Amen to that! :good:
I just remembered that I had an SD card in the dock - perhaps having a card in the dock made it draw more power? For Scenario #2, I'll remove the SD card.
I fell asleep... Scenario #1 after 9 hrs is 100/99. Moving on to scenario #2
Edit: I plugged in and while getting Scenario #2 ready, the pad dropped to 98% then 97%. Both green lights are lit (Dock/Pad) and the lockscreen says charged. I am going to wait for it to say 100% in the settings menu before starting.

I'm a little worried that at a 4 hour interval we won't get much done on one weekend - and I miss my tab already :crying:
I kinda doubt that we get past 4 scenarios here....
Would it be an idea to nandroid this test setup so that we can easily return to it and continue testing with later scenarios?
That would give us kind of a controlled environment to run the scenarios in if and when we might get new ideas to try out.
Yeah, I agree it would be a good idea to Nandroid the setup - or just reinstall - neither will really take that long... The key is to be at the same levels and versions of everything.
I'm just afraid that if we start using shorter intervals, that we wont get accurate results. That and every tester is kinda on their own schedule, so are tests are not 'synchronized', which makes things go slower too... I'm also afraid that if we start changing too much between tests, that we'll lose control of what causes the drain. Unfortunately, it's just a slow, tedious process... I tried to be up front with folks that their tablets would basically be useless for the entire weekend. In my case, I have another tablet, so its not a big deal.
For test 3, I'd like to dock and undock and then let it sit overnight, really with no other changes. Then, tomorrow, we can get the battery level down to say 70 percent and see if the drain results are any different.
So far, in think what we have shown is that the drain is not there with a basic install, at least with fully charged devices. Tomorrow, I want to see if that remains true with not-so-fully charged devices (assuming all previous tests remain 'successful'.
Everyone agree to that testing path? Anything else we should specifically test?
EDIT: by the way, after test #2, I'm still @ 100 percent on both dock and tablet...

I think it's abnormal because this issue doesn't happen in the stock ROM, and I really want my tab always off while charging. Does anyone know a way to solve this :\
I have P6200 , and the same ROM (PAC-Man milestone 1)
I see option in Settings >> ROM Control >> General UI (Wake up on charger)
I did uncheck this option , but nothing happen , still my device wake up after poweroff while charging
can some help us ???
