Hi guys! I installed Android 4.2.1 on my unlocked Asus tf300t...now i have 10.6.1.8 I cand flash custom roms on this build? If not I must downgrade on Android 4.1.1...How? Please Help me
The only custom Rom for the JB 4.2 from Asus is atm NRG -if you want to flash others you have to downgrade to .20 or less (4.1 Bootloader). There's a guide from pjc21 in the general section that describes this steps way more detailed...
So I can flash ,,The Energy Rom" on this build?...Sorry I am new on this build

yeah, NRG released a 4.2.1 version of his rom, Energy, it's a rather smooth stock rom, if you wanna say with Cyanogenmod or AOKP, then you're S.O.L for now until Asus releases a kernel source.
CleanROM Inheritance 4.0 will be released tomorrow (hopefully) which will be based off JB 4.2.1 and you have the right requirements

Can we use any ics/jellybean kernel for any ics/jellybean rom??? please tell me your opinion
Thanks in advance
Based on what I experience right now (flashed leaked jb kernel) I'd say that you can't but maybe it depends on phones and roms.
No ICS and JB Kenels are different and thus need to be specific to the Android version you are using. The case is slightly different with the verizon GNex on 4.2.2. They are still having to use 4.2.1 blobs since the device tree hasnt been updated with 4.2.2 blobs yet. This makes it to where most ROMs will still use 4.2.1 Kernels with the exception of the GSM OTA Port to the VWZ Gnex until the device trees are fully updated (assumign that happens). Cheers!
Hello guys,
I am currently on First ICS 4.0.4 Full 3D ROM Ported From SU760 (software version: LGSU760-V30b-OCT-18-2012). I also have the P940 recovery installed. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347&highlight=install+official+ics)
I was wondering if I can directly install the official ics rom from lg over this rom?
Also is it possible to install OptimusRs Jelly Cream rom over my current rom directly? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392309&highlight=install+official+ics). The post states '1.You are on Official ICS V30A or v28b or v30b or v30c...etc' as a prerequisite.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Use this ROM and dont make any wipes and any formats .
Just push the rom into SD card and flash.
'Ported ICS' comes from the Korean SU760 device. It has bugs. It was our early unofficial version of ICS and is not compatible with newer ROMs like Jellycream. It is outdated/obsolete.
For more recent ROMs you first will need to install a version of ICS that was released by LG (or a rooted version of it like xbsall's rooted v28B: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819).
Not sure what Edufex posted there but as far as I know he has good advice. I am no dev to be sure.
Edufex, Thank you for the reply.
I downloaded the rom and flashed it without any wipes or formats. After the flash when i restarted the phone, i boot into the same rom i had on the mobile and phone service is disabled. I am not getting any signals from atnt now.
Any suggestions as to what i should do now?
Thanks.

Do you have a LGP920 ?
do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337545
Hello all !
Well is the history of my tf300t:
4.1 (stock) OTA to 4.21 (stock), (once had a crash so need to reinstall from sd card (still 4.2.1).)
i have enough with the latency of the tablet ! so i have decided to install cyanogen mod 10 (stable), but the problem is it's a 4.1 and i'm on 4.2.1.
In addition i use twrp 2.5, i was thinking to update to 2.6 but on the install note these 3 versions :
*.-ics - on the 4.0 official software.
*.-jb - if you have official 4.1 software.
*.-4.2 for the official Asus 4.2 update
If you choose the wrong file you may brick your tablet.
right now i'm on 4.2.1 so by logic i need to use the *.-4.2 file but if i want to use cwm 10 (4.1) the twrp will be compatible ? or i need to change version ?
thanks for helping ....

cromi-x is a stock based rom so there is no gapps to flash and it has a lot of options and is extremely stable, ive not had a single crash or reboot in months, i use thats v4 kernel and thats stable and smooth and if yu tick the undervolt option the battery is crazy good
I have recently been convinced to root my tab 2 7.0, however I really dont know what rom would be best for me. i would prefer something obviously better than my stock rom, still have my seven screens, and something as user friendly as possible. please help, thanks.

CyanogenMod
CM 11 (Android KitKat) NIGHTLIES
CM 10.1 (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) STABLE
CM 9 (Android 4.0 ICS) STABLE
CWM Based Recoveries
There are hundreds of roms available. It differs from person to person which roms he/she likes.
I personally like CyanogenMod. Just look here and find a rom.
Almost all threads have a guide how to install the rom. If you don't like the rom you just simply install another one.
If you want to get started, install CWM Recovery as listed above.

Stock Firmware vs Stock Custom ROM. A confusion for many years i have for all Android Phones i rooted (Samsung, LG, Sony)
For example:
my Base ROM is IceCreamSandwich (ICS), because it was easy to Root & Install Recovery on ICS.
Then i have flashed JellyBean (JB) Stock based Custom ROM on it.
now on reboot 1st LG logo on very start says (ICS version) but later it boots into JellyBean ROM.
My Question is:
does firmware ICS still has any effect on Phone? or now only JB ROM (stock based modified ROM) has full control of mobile??
Install the last fw is always a good road... maybe first you can read others experience s

my 2nd mobile has Base Stock Firmware ICS with on top Stock Custom ROM JellyBean 4.1.2
My Question is:
does having GB vs ICS vs JB firmware makes any difference for Recovery?...or installing main JellyBean Custom ROM on top cancels effect of firmware on it???
i mean having latest firmware improves battery and radio/mobile/wifi signals?

Gingerbread verses ICS Battery life is very different, ICS and up will give you better battery life, its always best to have the latest android version on your phone because more apps will work with your device the higher it is.

it might be that the jellybean rom is not jelly bean or it just kept the ics logo
