Hi there,
I need your help urgently.
I received a brand new TF700T and did make it work to support root.
I also did unlock the bootrom protection.
When I tried to install a custom ROM manager (Clockwork Mod) image from:here
The device didn't want to start any more - showing message:
The Device ist Unlocked.
Android cardhu-user bootloader <2.10 e> released by "TW_epad-9.4.5.22-20120615" A03
Checking for android ota recovery
Booting recovery kernel image
But nothing happens anymore (
I can wait for the battery to run empty in this mode.
There' no chance to boot from Micro SD.
The only thing what works at the moment is to connect the device via APX drivers.
I tried to communicate with device via NVFLASH tool
But when trying this - I get the message:
Nvflash started
Unknown Device found
Does any one have an idea where to find appropriate drivers for Nvflash?
Or the parameters to match TF700T?
Thanks in advance!
if you are able to access APX then you still have hope, first of all you need to push custom recovery like TWRP via fastboot mode and then install custom ROM. Most likelly you were to lazy to read a lot information on this forum how to install stuff properlly.
EDIT: if Tf700t has pin hole you should turn it off despite waiting for it to discharge...

I did already read a lot - for hours and nights.
But my main problem is: UNKNOWN DEVICE
What does TWRP mean? How do I get fastboot to work?
I'm even not allowed to enter recovery mode.
The device is just recognized as an APX -device...
I can't push or download any custom ROM since I can't communicate with the device in both directions...
For those who messed up really bad and can't boot but are unlocked.
EDIT: I didn't see that you are not unlocked. then you should Power on + volume down, wait, see two icons select wipe, pray to god it helped or not. And if it doesn't boot and you are not unlocked last thing to do is RMA.
You are not allowed to enter recovery because you have stock one with droid dead and red triangle I guess. This is TWRP site and all instructions are here TWRP - Team Win Recovery Project is alternative to ClockworkMod Recovery but better. to get to fast boot turn on your tab holding power on + volume down and then do nothing while it asks to pres up. if you are unlocked you will see 3 icons select usb drive icon. FASTBOOT mode. now follow instructions from TWRP site. after that youl need custom rom zip. if recovery instaled successfuly and you can get into it you'll need to put custom ro into microSD or if you can into internal storage. if you can't conect to pc via cable and start cmd if Windows or terminal if Linux or mac. type
Code:
adb shell
mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /data/media
you will be able to access microSD via recovery (unless it is different than Prime tf201 you will need different command, but give it a try)

Thanks for advise - BUT
I have no choice like selecting Fastboot or USB etc. with volume buttons.
These options unfortunately do not come up anymore.
My device is definetly unlocked. It shows up "Device unlocked" when trying to boot normally.
When trying to go to recovery, with Volume - hold, the device tries to launch to recovery but hangs in status:
Device is Unlocked

Booting recovery kernel.
I have NO option to go to fastboot! Only way will be APX but nvflas always tell me unknown device.
So I was looking for any other version of nvflash.
In other forum I did find hint for nvflash ICS but didn't find right version yet.
If I only could get communication via APX worked to my device, then I could send data via nvflash and APX...
I assume you can't even go to rom as it bootloops on EEE pad screen not on rom splash screen
1. Did you try Wipe option in (power + volume down, wait 5 sec.)? [it is esential in all situations of trying to recover]
2.ammm... when you enter "adb devices" in your cmd on PC doesn't it show anything (do it while your tablet is on and hangs anywhere, just make sure it is on)? list is empty? if not it shows your device with some random letters and numbers.
Try manually setting your pc. Download android SDK and all packages for Android 4.x then in Device Manager (Control panel) find your Tablet and update your driver to Android ADB interface (you can experiment, till your device is shown correctly via adb devices command).
But first of all make sure you do or did first step. it is common issue among Prime users so maybe it can help you.

I would like to exchange email-adresses to enhance communication.
You could also send email to [email protected]
I did try with button combination (power & + button) as well, but device did not wipe.
For now - I'm about to update Android SDK )
Hopefully this works to recognize my TF700T...
If you manage to unbrick please post the information back here it may be helpful to others.

How did you get your TF700 unlocked? Asus hasn't posted an unlock tool for it yet that I could find.

Unlock + Root was never a problem.
I managed it to unlock the device using the TF300T tool / link.
Boot loop was big problem.
I did raise RMA in the meantime. New device is on the way.
Thanks to all repliers.
I will keep off doing this again / wait until xda-experts will provide a working way to CWM TF700T.
My Transformer Infinity isn't bricked, I just can't get it to boot into recovery. (I'm unlocked and rooted, but no custom ROM.) I have tried both CWM and TWRP 2.2.0 with GooManager. The tablet just won't boot into recovery mode. I can hold the Down Volume key and Power button to have the initial boot up menu display. When I press the Up Volume button to boot into recovery mode, it just hangs like the OP talks about. I then have to hold the power button for about five or so seconds to get it to power down again. I can turn it back on and it will boot normally.
I thought maybe something was messed up because I installed busybox, or hacked the Flash Player to work in desktop mode, or tweaked the build.prop file or something. I've put the build.prop file back to default, and removed the busybox apps, but that hasn't resolved the problem. I've tried re-running the unlock tool, but it fails halfway through. I'm not sure if that's normal or not after you've run it once, or an indication of something messed up.
Any suggestions on what else to try or look at are appreciated.

UPDATE: I finally got TWRP 2.2.2.0 to work using the following option from the Instruction Page (http teamw.in/project/twrp2/105):
Download - ADB / Terminal method:
Download the above file. Save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to twrp.blob
Launch terminal emulator or connect to your computer and open an adb shell, then type the following:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Then reboot to complete installation.

Trying to flash the new CWM recovery, too. Mine gets stuck in the bootloader menu (where you have to choose between Wipe, fastboot mode, and cold startup). Every time I select fastboot it says "starting fastboot usb protocol" and just hangs there.

hi !
no fastboot mod ?
when you plug your tablet on usb, does your pc recognize ?
Hi,
Unfortunately not. Nothing happens. Just asus logo. After a long hold Power button, the screen goes off and then after 10 seconds the logo appears without pressing power button.
So logo stand until the battery runs out.
Is there any way to go back to ICS?
Image is in attachment.
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem and I found any solution at his time . I hope someone can help us
Did you by any chance try to wipe the data in the bootloader menu?
We haven't any access to bootloader menu
I tried wipe the data, since I did not get into the cold boot (power + volume).
So, this is happening to me since I did wipe the data.
All the time is asus logo, and so until the battery died.
When recharge the battery, all the same thing happening.
EDIT:
I've tried various combinations of buttons. I just noticed that when you hold all three buttons at the same time (vol up, vol down and power), windows show "Unknown device".
It also happened to me when I had problems with the drivers. I guess I'm close decision. Are they now need special drivers for this?
I successfully installed the driver.
As you can see in the picture.
The devices is "Android ADB Interface"
But when I run the following command "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob" just standing "< waiting for device >" .
To do this -> hold all three buttons at the same time (vol up, vol down and power).
Does anyone know what to do next?
Regards.
I dont think your properly connected. Try reinstalling drivers and check to see if your connected by "adp devices" or "fastboot devices".

My mistake,
It is the APX driver for NvFlash, not for fastboot.
The problem is that it has not yet appeared NvFlash for tf300.
Nothing else left but to wait for it to appear.

We don't have fastboot. We are in APX mode. We need an NvFlash solution.

Happened to me too. I'm hoping that ASUS will fix it for a reasonable price. Otherwise I'm just going to get a Nexus 7.
Hi together,
I've got a Motorola Photon Q 4g LTE mobile phone and this afternoon I wanted to install CyanogemMod, but whatever I do, I stuck with the following problem:
I can't install any other Custom Recovery. I tried ClockworkMod and OpenRecovery, but I always get the s**t Motorola Bootloader, when I start in Recovery Mode. The Bootloader of my Phone is unlocked via Motorola Website, as told in many other threads.
I know that the users arrrghhh, shabbypenguin and Skrilax_CZ are great experts with firmware and such things, but I'm not allowed to write in developer's forums because I'm new here.
Has anybody got an idea for me, how to geht the Custom Recovery to work?
Btw: I tried to root the phone as well, but that wasn't posible. May be things come together or depend on each other.
Thanks for your help!
When you flash recovery (IE run the fastboot command) is it successful?
With the phone in fastboot/bootloader mode, type "fastboot devices" in the command prompt (where you run the fastboot flash command) and what does it output?
Also, try this.

When I flash recovery, I just flash the Motorola given Recovery by Motoroloa Bootloader. The Phone restarts, a logo with the Android Man is shown (stomach opend with some engeniering tools in it) and after about 5-7 Minuten, the system starts normally.
I also managed it to change the "Unlocked Message" into a Motorola Logo by using fastboot flash logo xxxx.bin and I nearly destroyed the flash by flashing an unlikely file. So the phone was shortly out of order because oder "flash failure" (fastboot mode). After that, I managed to flash the "boot.img" file of an CyanogenMod, so the flash was rebuilt and I could use the phone normally.

It shows the connected devices by showing a 8 or 9 ditigt number. It's almost the same view like I connected the phone without fastboot and use "adb devices".

This one I didn't tried yet, because I was so dissappointed of the mismatch with ClockworkMod & Open Recovery. Do you think, that trying this one will help, after two others failed?!
Thanks for you notice and your time. That's very helpful!
You need to boot to recovery after flashing it. There's a shell script that is re-flashing stock recovery - the dead Android dude with tools sticking out of him is stock recovery....

Ah ja, now I'm one step closer. I did not know, that the dead Android dude is the sign for stock recovery.
I'll give it this afternoon another try and will report. A bunch of thanks to you at this time!
Hi, it's me again. I managed now the reboot to recovery, by holding the volume up button while doing the "fastboot reboot"-command with the command box. That worked and I could start Photon Q Open Recovery 2.06.
Unfortunately, I did something wrong or so and now the script re-flashed stock recovery again. Nevertheless, I now know how to operate and will do the rest by my own (hopefully).
@arrrghhh: Thank you very much for your help!
So, I finally did everyhting the right way (now with ClockworkMod Recovery), because I now have CyanogenMod running on my Motorola Photon Q
:victory:
@arrrghhh: Thank you very very much!
Hi Guys, newbie here.
After installing a custom rom on my desire s a while back I have been edging towards doing the same on my Huawei ascend mate.
I have read the excelent posts in the developer forum but was not allowed to post there.
I have tried to flash twrp from joe.stones thread but maybe using a recovery installer from within android was not too smart.
My mate is now in a boot loop.
I have tried to get access using fastboot on linux but whatever I try, it keeps "waiting for device".
I've tried using power+volume up, power+volume up and volume down, tried the same buttons with usb attached and with an UPDATE.APP(both 221 and the 907 version) in dload on the sdcard
I have googled so much my head starts to spin...
Is there anything I can try?
partial succes, there is some communication!
I missed this thread:

- Then connect via usb
- I/you then have to hold volume DOWN+ power to get a responce and I did!
Still not booting up but very nice to have the phone talking again!
Now trying some other fastboot stuff, but very gently....!

In above thread is mentioned that you can extract files, boot.img and recovery.img, from the original UPDATE.APP that was used on your phone, in my case 907.
After flashing as mentioned the phone booted up again without any change!
Note
I used xubuntu linux 14.04, adb and fastboot utilities can be installed from the software center. Phone drivers are either not needed or were included in the install.
I used the extractor tool mentioned in the thread above in a virtual machine to extract the files from the UPDATE.APP

It should be also compatible with the lte version. The kernel support is exactly the same and it should function the same with no difference. As posted in the cwm thread you don't have to install it to test it. You can use the fastboot boot command to load the image and test it and/or root your device without installing it.

Not a question; Nvidia Tablet Shield CWM flash recovery mod with Nvidia's official Drivers Package. This has been confirmed on 12/28/14 and still operating!
Root usiong recovery.img
I have the tablet set to USB debugging ON, connected, with an unlocked bootloader. Do I need to power down before I run this command to load the CWM recovery.img file?
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Right now, with the tablet powered on, the command does nothing except says "Waiting for device"
Seems to be a driver issue... Enter "fastest devices"... If there is no device number shown, uninstall and re-install drivers, maybe try different drivers...
Flashing recovery issue.
Hello, I just got my tablet today, OTA update installed, and already unlocked the bootloader. Now, I'm trying to flash the cwm recovery, each time i run the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" I get an error.
target reported max download size of 570425344 bytes
error: cannot load 'recovery.img': No error
the recovery image is in the same folder as my adb and fastboot files, but i still get that message, any ideas?? Thanx in advance.
Recovery.img should be in the current folder, wherever that is and the file should be named recovery.img if that is the command line you are using. Are they?
Root problems
I've successfully unlocked my bootloader. When I get to the step to flash recovery.img "./fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" it just says "< waiting for device >" and nothing happens on my tablet.
First of all, thank's a lot to Unjustified Dev for providing CWM Recovery for the NVidia Shield Tablet, and for everybody else involved, so I could flash it onto my device.
Now to my problem.
I can't for the life of me access my CWM Recovery backups to store them on my ubuntu laptop.
I'm fairly new to customizing Android Devices so forgive me if I may ask dumb questions.
I started with an uncustomized device.
1) Unlocked the bootloader using
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
2) I downloaded CWM Recovery image "recovery.img" from the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/shi.../recovery-cwm-recovery-nvidia-shield-t2848064, but not the one on the first page but on page 13, provided by romracer.
3) I flashed CWM Recovery onto my recovery partition with
Code:
sudo ./fastboot flash recovery path/to/recovery.img
I had to sudo because otherwise it said
<waiting for device>
Click to collapse
4) I made a backup using CWM menu item "backup to sdcard". Trying "backup to /storage/sdcard1/" it told me
E: Unable to stat backup path.
Click to collapse
even with /storage/sdcard1 mounted.
Now i want to move the backup data to my laptop using adb.
I tried to find where the data was in
Code:
adb shell
It is located at /sdcard, which is a symlink to /storage/emulated/legacy, which is also a symlink to /mnt/shell/emulated/0. When I type
Code:
ls -la sdcard
it prints out all the Android, DCIM, Ringtones, etc but also a line
lstat 'sdcard//clockworkmod' failed: Permission denied
Click to collapse
It tells me the same with
Code:
ls -la /mnt/shell/emulated
Also I can't
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/clockworkmod
because then it tells me
remote object '/sdcard/clockworkmod' does not exist
