New Google Play Store coming soon... - HTC Sensation

http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...ted-in-the-wild-with-new-holo-user-interface/
Wahhoo, nice to see some changed stuff.
"
Google's next version of the Play Store has been revealed on Droid Life, and a hands-on video demonstrates the tweaked look and deeper integration of the Holo-theme. Most of the layout is still same, many new pages are blank in this new look and it's easier to switch between searching for apps, music, books and videos.
Google Play Store evolved again from its once incredibly fussy and difficult navigation. The new polished look of the Play Store was heavily made of image layout for pushing products from apps to magazine to movies and music.
Google Play 4.0 is the next big UI changes and the entire thing has been redone. The UI is more Holo-like theme than ever, uses new fonts as category section titles, larger images and box-style item container. Individual pages are now filled with even bigger images and comes with cleaner design.
Sections of the Play Store are separated with text but display beautiful photos and colour that will surely grab attention.
The update 4.0.16 is not officially released and no exact date yet when the update will begin for Android devices. Auto update apps and auto update over Wi-Fi is now consolidated into one.

There are many of links available from the Internet using Google Search to download the APK or Android application package file. APK is the main installer and only works if its copied inside the Android device's storage memory.
Be careful of Web sites which offers link of the new Play Store APK for they may contain viruses or malware. Research and download only from trusted sites or developer threads."

[APP][2.2+]Tasks for Android

Hey guys,
We have just released our task app for Android called "Tasks", which features a beautiful ICS interface. We adapted it to all screen sizes and backported it to Android 2.2+ using the same visual design.
Features
Features include sync with Google Tasks and the use of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich design language.
Powerful
The application matches all the features found on Google Inc.’s online client for Google Task. This includes the support for several task lists, notes, due dates, rearranging by dragging and task grouping. Furthermore, Tasks is tied into the Android account manager and supports the parallel usage of multiple Google accounts. Also, users will receive notifications about due dates and can display task lists on their home screen via widgets.
Design
Tasks makes strong usage of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich design language, also referred to as Holo. From the beginning, Tasks was designed to run well across devices, be it a phone, a tablet or anything in between. Even though Tasks employs Android latest features, it runs on Android 2.2+ with the same set of functionality and the same design.
Launch video
A good overview of the features and design is given by our launch video:
Availability and Promotion
Tasks is available immediately on Google Play in two versions: paid and free. As a launch promotion, the paid version is available at a significant lower price during April. The exact price can be found on Google Play as it is subject to your local currency.
The free version is ad-supported and matches the paid version in features.
Tasks is currently localized to American English and German.

Will test later, but downloading now. Battery is almost empty. Oh, and the video is awesome.
Looks nice, will try it later.
Why no screenshots or video of the widgets?
Just added a screenshot of the widget
Thank you for the feedback!
Just saw the video. This app looks top notch.
I like how it looks. Works good so far. But before I would use it, i miss two options:
- links in tasks should be clickable.
- it doesn't integrate into the android sharing system. E.g. I'd like to save a website. With gtasks I just press the share option in the browser and share it with gtasks. It's then added as a task.

I really appreciate the account setup right when you first open the app. Some apps neglect that.
This task app has most major features a task app needs. The clearing of tasks animation is the cherry on top.
Suggestions/feature requests:
Add an All list that contains all or user-selected lists, like gTasks.
Dark Holo theme

I would like those features aswell.
I actually just uninstalled gTasks and will stick with this app
Really love the simple ICS style.
Are there more differences than the ads between free and pro?
On a side note, the widget only showed up after a reboot, but that might just be a fluke (using cm9 on gnexus).

The widget appearing only after reboot isn't a app bug. Happens with lot's of apps. It's random, at least with me.

Have you guys added a content provider in the last update? I'd like to use it with Android Agenda Widget.
Hello gollyzilla,
I'm sorry but we did'nt implement this yet as it isn't our top priority at the moment. You can still vote for this feature on our moderator page (accessible trough our plus page, sry can't post links)

I want this as well, to add support to Smooth Calendar. If you want to be THE tasks solution you really need a content provider.
calender integration
hi,
will there be a google calendar integration in the future?
where do I find this moderator page in your google+ page?
does anyone has problem after the daylight saving time? (I'm in Italy)
with or without checking automatic timezone\date & time I always have notifications before its due time.
Reboot or force close of the app doesn't solve the problem. I tried with other tasks app and this problem isn't there
for example:
It's 21:00. Due time 21:00: A notification appears and it says 20:00 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 21:30: A notification appears and it says 20:30 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 22:00: A notification appears and it says 21:00 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 22:01: No notifications but after 1 minute I'll have one
Basically it's like he doesn't consider the new time zone.
The strange thing is that Google Calendar(on the web) has the same timezone\time of the phone so it shouldn’t be a problem
Also, not only I have this problem with my HTC One S ICS 4.0.4 but even with my father Galaxy Ace 2.3.6

[GAME] Run Your Playlist [BETA TESTERS NEEDED]

I started playing around with some libraries and came up with an idea for an infinite scroller style game.
The story is still in the works, but the basic idea is to rescue songs from being locked away, something like Fahrenheit 451, by collecting timers to keep the song playing.
It uses songs from the device, and there are in-app purchases to load custom characters and maps. If a song is lost three times, it becomes locked and there is Facebook integration to unlock it. This is done by having someone who won a song by the same artist respond to your request for help. You can also post generic help requests to your wall, or send someone a request without being asked. There are achievements for different things like that, but those are still being added for a general leaderboard.
Overall, it is a ton of different ideas that are turning into a game. The custom character and custom maps options are fully working. I will add tutorials for how to make the images if anyone is interested before I get a site together for it.
The game is free on Google Play and has a beta testing option, and new updates are being released almost daily.

Beta Testing https://plus.google.com/communities/114550766382835608804
All the functionality for the basic game is now present. The next step is to add tiers to levels so you aren't always running on the ground. There is only one map, but more are in the works.
All the Facebook stuff works, and scoring is complete. A lot was done to speed up loading as well. Loading custom maps and players now have fancy selection menus.

nice !! thanks for sharing
The next major update is not far off. It will include floating layers to jump onto, custom maps will support loading a custom physics object similar to what will be available in the default maps, and items will respond more like their visual shapes. Running and jumping have been improved. The timers are less lagged. A loading screen will now show while resources are loaded. Better menus are coming next, along with more extensive levels.

I must have missed the notification for your donation because those look a lot more like demands than requests.
Edit: On a more serious note, those will come after the game functionality is fully established. I will be starting a kickstarter project to fund graphics and level design. Right now they are all homemade drafts.

The icons will be updated for that next release. The previous icon is now a placeholder in the menus and the new icon is more colorful.
I am working on more interesting levels but I can't seem to decide on how I want it to look. I was going for a city type but nothing is quite falling into place yet.
The tutorials for loading custom maps and avatars are on the way. At least then it will open those up for not being limited by my current versions.

Version 2.0 was released. Using the main menu will allow turning off the parallax (infinite scroll) option to use actual maps. Maps contain tiers that can be jumped onto and joystick controls instead of buttons.
The base functionality is now mostly complete and levels are being designed. Graphics and improved menus are coming next.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
good
I may have gone a little overkill on customization options. The game now supports tablets and the display was tweaked to fit everything better. With that working, there are now selectable coin designs to fit custom maps. When you select a map, you can also select a physics file for your "tier". The box that will appear allows you to set the x, y, height, and width of the tier from your map sheet for the physics to reference.
The map sheet image and map must be in the same place, or at least the same top-level directory. This means if your map is "sdcard/mymap.tmx" there should be either a "sdcard/mymapimage.png" or "sdcard/subdirectory_set_by_tmx/mymapimage.png" with it. The physics xml file can be in another location with another name and still work. The game will pull your map image automatically when the map is selected based on the file names in the tmx. This may be changeable in the future but that requires even heavier editing of the game engine, so it's a small price to pay.

I started a Google+ community for beta testing. This will open up availability to test new versions before they roll out to the public. Hopefully this will help to get more precise feedback on what improvements people would like to see before the new versions of the game are published.
https://plus.google.com/communities/114550766382835608804
The game is undergoing a slight rebuild. Gameplay will not require collecting the coins to keep the music going. This placed a limit on where coins could be placed and made first time play relatively short. It also caused unnecessary breaks in the song. Instead there will be a goal to reach before the song ends.
With this change, I can now support multi-directional running, including levels that now contain much higher ceilings. This will expand the world greatly. This update is currently in progress and the betas should roll out shortly.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
The next version is being designed with augmented reality levels. The game engine doesn't support this functionality so it's currently being designed for this game. That should put a new twist on things and help overcome background shortcomings for now.
The levels also include random placement on the map to reduce repetition when the map isn't changed. Most songs will come nowhere near using the entire map. The base map is equivalent to roughly 20 minutes of consecutive play.

Play Store 4.5.10 [6TH DEC]

What's New?
One of the most exciting features packed into the 4.5.10 update is an indicator for in-app purchases. This seems to be more of a binary yes-or-no indicator (it won't give you insight into cost or quantity of IAPs), but it's great to see some kind of indication of whether the app you're about to download will be asking you to make further transactions.
DOWNLOAD APK
The update also brings some tweaks to the review process and its related layouts. First, the Play Store's got a new layout for viewing your own review, and a large five-star selector if you've yet to rate an app. There's also an explicit "Edit" button, which should make the ability to edit your review a little more obvious.
Unlike previous versions of the Play Store, 4.5.10 allows users to delete their reviews as well. Oh, and the stars have been changed too - they're now green, sans outline, and a bit sharper.
Across all reviews (your own included), avatar images are now encapsulated in circles rather than squares. This is a small touch, but brings the app a little closer to its web counterpart.
Elsewhere, some information and typography (related to devices, users' names, and versions) have been adjusted. Check out the comparison images below - on the left is 4.4.22, on the right is the new version.

Google Play v4.5

Guys, as I saw there was no post about the latest release of google play by google, I thought of making it!
A Google Play Store 4.5.10 update will soon be rolled out to your handset, but you can sideload it as an APK file right now from the source link below and enjoy the benefits. It is a rather significant update, bringing above all an in-app purchases indicator. Here's the full changelog of today's 6.63 MB update:
Activity Feed
Stars are green instead of blue
Avatars are circles not squares
typography change
New layout for reviews, including your own
Indicator for in-app purchases
The other big thing, besides the warning note which apps contain in-app purchases, is the ability to edit or completely delete your app review. You also get to share your activity feed on Google Plus, with all the comments, +1s and ratings you've given to apps.

Google Play Services 4.1 Begins Rollout With Location Reporting Battery Fix, Turn-Bas

Published on January 9th, 2014
Written by: Liam Spradlin
What's New
Update: You will find several mirrors of the APK below for manual flashing.
Google Play Services 4.0 was released in late October just after the Nexus 5 and Kit Kat became official, bringing with it plenty of improvements to things like Google+ sign-in, Wallet, Location services, and more.
Today, via the Android Developers Blog, Google announced the rollout of Google Play Services 4.1, which offers developers more and better tools to make compelling apps.
What's New
First off, 4.1 will give developers the chance to take advantage of turn-based multiplayer mechanics handled totally by Play Services (for playing asynchronous games either with friends or strangers).
The update from version 4.0.34 will also provide a developer preview of the new Google Drive API for Android, which - when implemented - will let users read and write files from Google Drive across their devices, online or off, with changes syncing automatically. The API also comes with a couple of bonuses like a file picker and a "Save" dialog.
Google also notes changes to Google Mobile ads with the 4.1 update:
With Google Play services 4.1, the Google Mobile Ads SDK now fully supports DoubleClick for Publishers, DoubleClick Ad Exchange, and Search Ads for Mobile Apps. You can also use a new publisher-provided location API to provide Google with the location when requesting ads. Location-based ads can improve your app monetization.
Perhaps most important to non-developers, Google appears to have "improved" battery life for users who have Location Reporting enabled. Readers may recall this was an issue with previous Play Services releases.
Finally, the Play Services update improves the Google+ sharing experience by making it easier to share with only the people you want from an app. Sharing now offers better auto-complete and suggests contacts from Gmail, your device, and Google.
