My stock samsung earphones broke today and i planned to get good pair. I dont have much idea about earphones. I know beats are expensive, but my queation here is are they worth getting.
I have heard a good deal of senhieser earphones and headphones. They are comparatively low priced but what about tge quality???
Need some reviews on both these products senhieser omx 680 sport or the powerbeats by dre????

It's not as simple as that. You can read my guide and post there, but I'll break down the basics.
1: Beats, Bose, Skullcandy, any celebrity endorsed earphone is trash. You can buy much better for half the price.
2: In order to give recommendations, I need to know price range, in ear vs. over ear, genres you listen to, and whether or not you need a mic/remote.

But still these are the two earphones i found most attractive. I know beats will be expensive. But i am scared if i go for senhieser and wont get the results i am expecting then i will loose my 50$.

There are some very nice looking, good sounding headphones out there that you might not be aware of.
For on-ear, V-Moda M-80 and M-100 should be considered.
If you'd rather have Beats for the looks, then I'd recommend getting fakes. The real ones don't sound much better.
If you do care about sound, Sennheiser isn't bad at all, but without knowing a few things, I can't help make a good recommendation. I would love to help, though, I like spreading the joy of good audio recommendations.

They're well liked by some, but at that price point, Sony MH1 or Brainwavz R1 would be much better, also Soundmagic E30. How much are you looking to spend and what music do you listen to? Need a lot of bass or clear and detailed?
-Accidental Asshole aka Jeremy
[Guide] Headphone/Earphone Buying
I am a rock and jazz listener. So wont be needing a jumbo size headphone.
A little sporty would be fine with me as well. Beats is way way too expensive and at a point where i am saving some buck for s4 or note 3. Its a better idea to go for a sennheiser earphone.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
I'd definitely look at the ones I mentioned, and if you want to go a little higher, hifiman/head-direct re-zero gets great reviews for crystal clear detail, Shure SE215 has superb mids, and Audio Technica CKS77 should be clear, with good but not overwhelming bass and a very wide soundstage.
I doubt you'd go wrong with any, but Brainwavz R1 might not have enough mids for you. They're a bit recessed.

It's basically Dr. Dre's idea of what EQ settings you should have when some Beats Audio high performance equipment is plugged in. Your friends phone will detect the Beats headphones (somehow) and Beats Audio will apply a certain EQ.
There are a few ports being tested which will work with any headphones, although it remains to be seen if this is actually a benefit or a marketing gimmick. Forcing an EQ designed for a specific set of headphones may not have a desirable effect when pluggin in some cheap £20 Sony's!

Yes it's not like beats audio means it has any special audio processing hardware. It is simply an EQ tailored to get the "best" sound out of a specific set of headphones. If you are not planning on using Beats headphones, then it is kinda redundant. I'm simply curious to see if this EQ is better than my custom one using PowerAmp.
I have yet to test it myself, but I would imagine that unless you are planning on splashing out £100+ on Beats headphones, you are best of sticking with using PowerAmp and it's awesome equaliser to tune the sound to best suit the headphones you already have. Much Cheaper! Since we are on the topic, I can highly recommend the a-Jays One. IMO you'll not get a better sound for £20! Plus the cable is truly tangle-free! I'd have been very happy with these had they cost me £60.
(Also wins the prize for the most over-packaged product I've ever bought. The case is good for keeping anything you want to survive the nuclear apocolypse.)

I am sorry but this is a scam.... I don't see no difference in sound... it's pure marketing if you have sound quality boost only by software, certain EQ setting,if you will, which works only in native Music Player for HTC WTF BTW????
I hate native music player... very limited (for example, NO FLAC support, CUE sheets ... and many more features)...
PowerAmp and/or PlayerPro, maybe both
Just wanna say one thing!
Dump box HTC headset, poor sound quality... buy something else...

Have bought recently Sennheiser CX300 and I must say that the sound quality improved very much

Ben, I got myself a pair of monster beats in-canal earphones recently and I have to tell you even standalone they are great. But with the beats mod they the sound is heavenly.
I'm opposed to marketing gimmicks by principle and was skeptical at first.
But after listening to a pair of these AND comparing them to a set of Bose headphones at the same mall I concluded these are much better for the kind of music I'm used to.
However we have to remember that audio perception is a subjective feeling and not everybody may have the same taste.

Good to read a substantial review, with some actual detail, although still early and HTC could (or do I mean SHOULD) add additional hardware to later devices which could further improve the sound output from their devices, in fact to add weight to the Beats link-up it might be a good idea to do so, so as not to lose too much cred, no one feels like they're being taken for a fool.

"Beats" is a EQ software upgrade, as I understood, supported by native Music player... It is the same if you turn on an EQ function in your PlayerPro of PowerAmp... for me Beats has no purpose in my phone....
It's like.... "Heeey, it is the same phone with the same hardware and it has a autoEQ called Beats, and it is black'n'red in color, with cool headset.... please pay a fortune!!!" WTF!
UPDATE: (just read this review... kinda stepped on that one )
"The Beats Audio software isn't complete marketing vapor, but it's still inherently gimmicky and adds nothing in the XE's favor: you could achieve a better result on the original Sensation simply by downloading a third-party music player that lets you play with the EQ settings yourself. The only thing which might sway us to by the Sensation XE over its predecessor is the packaged YourBeats headphones, coupled with the red styling on the phone....."
- from the Sensation XE review
Im sure we've all seen the 10 predictions about 2012 and how HTC will be making the new jellybean phone because Samsung is too busy with the nexus tablet.
My question is if HTC does make the jellybean nexus would you want it to beats audio if so why or why not and would it be a dealbreaker to you staining the only bloatware free phone?
I personly would like them to make it more than just an EQ setting if they insist on putting it on the nexus

HELL to the NO. Beats doesn't do jack. It's overpriced garbage for crappy sound quality. Plus it just makes our favorite high end devices cost even more money. Want real EQ capabilities? Try out Poweramp or DSP manager. Want actual good sound quality? Try out an old Samsung Galaxy device like an infuse with that Wolfson DAC. I'm still pissed Samsung went for the crappy Yamaha and ditched the Wolfson with the GSII.
Yeah leave the beats stuff out of the nexus. I'm pretty excited if HTC is really making the new device, hopefully they ditch qualcomm and get an omap with the new powerVR gpu.
Other than that I wish it not to but uber thick like htc's most recent offerings. Maybe like a revamped nexus one body?

Let's take wal-mart quality headphones and mask the terrible sound quality with reverberations that are likely extremely unhealthy in such close proximity to your eardrums. Then, we'll market them with the name of a rapper who's greatest contribution is a piece of white trash with mommy issues out of the trailer park and having him rap out of his nose... Yeah, sounds like the kind of company HTC might sign up with.
I must be in the minority as I like it. I don't use the stock player much but I did test it out and have a set or Dre headphones and it does make a difference. But unless that is your thing it most likely isn't for you. Beats out my old galaxy s any day of the week.
Hell no!
Voodoo or GTFO.
Also Beats is only a software thing, easily replaceable with PowerAMP.

Had voodoo sound on my old galaxy and the Samsung needed it badly lol. Power amp is my main player but foe those that stay stock beats is not that bad.
I'm on a headphone audiophile forum and anything Beats related is recognized as utter crap. It's horrible bass boosting software that makes you say bye bye to a flat, natural response curve. Beyond that, while it increases the impact of the bass, it muddies it up because the sub bass is overwhelmed by the hit of the others.
I don't want to go into it because the discussions are lengthy (but fascinating), but essentially the people who known what they're talking about know that Beats is junk.

Dr. Dre actually did alot more for music than discover eminem. He is one of the great producers of our time, and The Chronic 2001 is one of the greatest albums ever...and HTC did it as a business move, and you know what? It worked. It marketed the phones to a whole new group.

It did work. They realized kids were getting smartphones at a lower and lower age and kids/teens love Beats because it makes them "cool". Lets think about if HTC would've teamed up with Audio Technica, Sennheiser, etc. It wouldn't have NEAR the effect as it has with having Beats.

In ear:some sonys, etymotics all all those brands like klipsch.
Over and on ear: klipsch or sennheisers are good.
If you want something which costs in the range of beats small earpods like etymotic or vmoda should work. Just good vmoda up their earphones are like 50 bucks to 120 for the best. But their big ones cost 200 and 230, and they are boss and have better sound.
