Sense 4 Roms

Which one r u guys using ?
To me, there is really difference between all the different sense 4 Roms...
Excluding the themes.
Insertcoin seems the most stable n no bugs or twitches.

If i haven't understand it wrong, OrDroid and InsertCoin became CoinDroid, after some development the name changed to OrDroid again, next became PkMn and last ViperS, so if you want the best Sense 4 rom experience i wil go with ViperS..

I tried viper s but it doesn't have a lot of tweaks that insertcoin has when first installing in aroma

ViperS has a big Tweaks App after flashing.
You can customize a lot.
Best Sense 4 from at the moment.

Elegancia because I really like the theming. Well except for the statusbar icons, but I replaced those with stock and all is good. The rest of the framework looks amazing!
I tried ViperS briefly, but really missed the Elegancia look.

I've tried both Elegancia and ViperS. I prefer the ViperS rom. It has a lot more tweak to sense 4, like infinite scrolling. Although I do like the theming on Elegancia a bit better. I haven't had any major bugs with either and the both have pretty good battery life.

ViperS ROM with overclocked 1.4.1 kernel seem to be very good for me so far! Fast & smooth and lots of tweaks!

Viper is what I'm using. I really like it. It has many tweaks and even ota (over the air) updates for the Rom! I believe it's the only Rom that does the ota updates. Makes installing a upgrade very simple. When the update comes out you simply download over the air . No need for the computer. This is a wonderful feature.

incorrect, ordroid and insertcoin merged to coindroid, then a while later separated out, then shnizlon joined pkmn team which then became team venom. insertcoin is still separate

Ahem, just pointing out my Sense 3.6 ROM has had OTA updates since version 3 - about 6 months ago
Fair enough its through an app and not intergrated into the OS but if m0narx would share how he does it (yeah he posted a thread about it a while back but the hack he posted back then doesnt work properly as it does in viper rom) then it would be intergrated

VipersS is pretty stable and smooth, lots of customizations. It could use more speed, updates are getting slower though.

The next update will include speed increases, or so venom hub says. And the updates are getting slower too because it's pretty damn stable with a mountain of tweaks. Speed increases and bugfixes are all that's left to add to it really, maybe some more tweaks. It couldn't be more of a complete ROM if you tried. HTC could certainly learn a thing or two from team Venom, makes a big global corp. look like a bunch of amateur devs who toss out the first thing that "works".

Oh it's one hell of a rom of course, & it has been, even back when Venom was called Team Pokemon. And I guess I have been a little spoiled with these Sense 4 rom updates

Light sensor of Bricked
Anyone who uses Vipers 1.0.1 rom with Bricked kernel discovers that the background light is not changing as smooth as Faux Kernel ?
I've tried ViperS but as i switched the kernel to Faux's, the wifi cannot turn on normally.
有任何使用Vipers 1.0.1的各位發現當我用Bricked的核心時，背光的漸亮/漸暗會不順暢，但是用Faux的核心時，不管是開或關螢幕，背光都很流暢的漸亮漸暗。而且用ViperS只能搭配Bricked的核心，換了其他核心wifi就沒辦法正常開啟了！:crying:

You can't get WiFi to function normally because you switched the kernel to faux. On the first page of the Rom the developer gives a warning to NOT switch kernels as it can lead to WiFi issues . If you want WiFi working again wipe and re flash the Rom but use the kernel that came with the Rom and you will have both WiFi AND hotspot tethering working as it should . Hope this helps! [Q] Elegancia 4.1 causes screen issue in HD

Hi, am a newbie...
after getting annoyed with the Vodafone stock ROM, I rooted my Sensation and installed Elegancia with Sense 4.1... I love it. No more crashes, much smoother flow, just much better.
There is one slightly annoying issue. When playing Uniwar HD, there appears a small top to bottom stripe on the screen that might vanish, when moving left or right. It seems the HD graphics are not working as propoerly as in the stock ROM. I have the Faux Kernel and took all the defaults. May this cause the error or is this a known problem of the Elegancia 4.1 in combo with the Sensation?

I've never had any problems like that. I use elegancia for pretty long time. Try reflashing rom or changing kernel. Is this happening only while playing this game or it happens while playing others also?

Thanks for answering do quickly. It is (for now) only happening in that specific game. If I reflash ROM I guess I can completely restore everything via Titanium Backup. To change the Kernel I need to reflash the ROM as well, right? If so, can I restore all system data, or will this crash the system in case the system datahas some kernel specifics?

You can flash kernel without wiping anything, just download zip and flash it via recovery.
It looks strange to me, because it only happens in one game...maybe try reinstaling it?

Is there any Kernel you would specifically recommend?

It depend on what you want... I use PYD-X, stable and fast. I tried many kernels and found out that my sensiation likes PYD the most
It all depends... The most popular is IMO sebastianFM -> faux -> bricked -> PYD-X

Lots of crashes when using a Sense 3.5 rom

Dear friends,
I've been using Fallout rom for a while now but I decided to try a Sense 3.5 rom since they run more stable and faster than most ICS roms.
First I tried Endymion and later Energy rom. However with both roms I get a lot of crashes and I can't figure out why. Sense 3.6 roms run fine.
The crashes with Sense 3.5 also happen whilst the nothing is installed. How can I find out what's crashing my phone?

I was on endy before this, planing on going back after doing a test with reaper. Never had any crashes/reboot. I could only think of bad download/install as the cause if no app was installed/restored.

You probably didn't flash the boot.img and are still using the stock kernel.

Coming from fallout it wouldn't even have booted on the previous kernel, so that can't be the issue.
Have you changed any oc/uv settings?

I flashed the right boot.img and did clean installs (wipe data/cache) and haven't touched oc/uv settings. It also seems to happen more often when I'm multitasking e.g. Listening to music and browsing.

Good one. One would expect the gingerbread roms to be more stable but not on my phone. I like the gingerbread speed and they're more battery friendly than ICS roms in my experience.

R: Lots of crashes when using a Sense 3.5 rom
As far as I know, now ICS ROMs and JB ROMs are far more stable that GB ones. I am using Flinny's CM10.1 build 12 ROM daily without any issue, and I saw that Desire XS is pretty fast, maybe as fast as GB ROMs. Except for personal taste I see no point to stick around with GB ROMs.

desire xs is a great ROM ,, GB does not stand a chance!

Laggy stock rom !

Hey all , I have been using my sense stock rom (3.5) but there are few things which causes lag., for example when I enable lockscreen shortcuts , and unlock using ring it lags a lot and zoom out animations are lagging too . Sometimes when I scroll my homescreen , it lags too . I'm using supercharged v6 and I'm having no partition of my card. Still I'm not able to trace the cause of this lag in stock Rom . Our explorer already have very basic version of sense 3.5 ( with limited / or almost no animations which we see in wildfire s) and still it lags . I have only limited apps installed ( about 50). Please someone suggest me how to overcome this . I'm sticking with stock Rom because I need a good battery life and switching to other custom roms won't give me a good battery life.

Try to do factory reset..... First make backup of ur apps and contacts.....

Only if it had been this easy :/. I'm no noob and have tried these all things , I have been experiencing lag since beginning

Just use Super Backup: SMS & Contacts for backup the important things to the SDcard, then go to Settings -> Privacy -> Factory Data Reset.
You can backup apps too, but maybe any of these apps have something corrupt and make your phone laggy, so backup and restore only important things that you really need.

Don't use those scripts. They are all just random stuff kanged from other scripts, clashing with each other and causing chaos.
If a factory reset didn't work, I'd suspect from hardware.
Also, CM has far better battery life. I had 4 days with CM10.

4 days ? Are you sure of your words ? Cause with cm9 build #11 got not even a day :/ . And I bought HTC for htc sense , going for jelly bean wouldn't be sutable for me and sense 4a is constantly rebooting that's why I have switched to stock but stock is baggy

Try using custom roms like Nextgen ROM ver 1.4 .. It's quite fast ..

derefas sense4 built 7 lite
i have flashed almost all roms in the forum using custom recovery and by far flyrom v3 is the best, since was able to add overclock kernels without much issues,
sense 4 built 7 is good in matter of battery, data connectivity and keyboard(no lags), apps also opens faster
Why so much crap on its dev thread, why people not have patience and read instruction carefully as its been tested and then posted by the dev.
Derefas really rocks
just waiting for flyrom redefined... these are the roms meant for our pico gives its potential in its true way....

I Sense 4.0a Build # 7 very much. The first installation plagued reboots. Established a second time keeping instructions for three days no reboots. The only thing is sometimes slow.

BulletsenseFx v2 my only 4.0a sense rom i have flash and so far it rocks. Despite the laggy moments somstimes. A great rom to try. Keep up the great works guys.

Non of sense rom boots on my phone after nand problem m using SanDisk class 10 with 16 gb plz help

here's what i did. went into recovery(twrp by bhargz16) and made a 2gb ext3 partition then did all the resets except the external storage one. and then installed sense 4.0a build 6 by deferas. do far no random reboots or anything. sometime lags but still worth it. using transcend 8gb card class 10 btw. hope that I helped

im using Flyrom v3 Revolution and its just great
but still im waiting for the full release of sense 4a build 7

It's very fast and fluid,
battery life is very good
CPU is overclocked to 800 Mhz (but I think it is on 480 or 600 Mhz most of the time (almost all the time), so I guess it's safe)
There is some problem with media recognization in media player, I hope it will be fixed soon.

darefas build#6
Using darefas build#6 for one month now. No random reboots, no lag, no robotic call ( i use 2G for better battery life ) and able to install it on class 10 16GB sandisk ultra, on Kingston class4 8GB and right now running on sandisk class2 2GB. Best rom i used till now.
darefas is the man. Waiting for build#8
P.S: is it possible to install htc calendar widget?

I am making a Rom based on build 8 . What should I do to make it different.
