When I boot into fastboot and update my adb devices it doesn't show. I have s-off and It says I'm unlocked. I think it had something to do with HTC sync manager

Hi... You should really be more specific , what version of android are you using? As of the new update not all versions can be unlocked anymore ...
Make sure you close sync manager down all the way "EXIT" OUT ... As when I did my cell this had to be done to work

Edit: I have found the solution, if anybody get stuck like i was, uninstall whatever htc drivers you have and download htc sync, it worked perfectly and im using windows 8. Make sure that htc manager isnt running. Peace!

I'm assuming you have HTC sink manager as well?? If so completely disable, or uninstall HTC sync manager, it will cause problems..
Also make sure usb- debugging is enabled on the phone.

Thanks for the reply guys, USB debugging IS enabled and I'm using the OEM USB cable.
I was hoping that HTC sync was the issue, but it isn't installed on my computer. So I'm not sure what's wrong really. I'm using windows 8 but the computer recognise my phone when I ran the command for the cid so the drivers are definitely installed. I've tried uninstalling them and then reinstalling but still, not any luck....
Try hard resetting the phone for the hell of it and try again....
Windows 8 might be the problem

i too have windows 8 and I went through the same thing. maybe try installing htc sync it worked for me since you basically need the adb and fastboot driver, not just the phone driver

-hexedit CID to 11111111
-follow the s-off exploit
Once you've got s-off, you can change your CID to 22222222 and use htcdev to unlock. After that, it's just a matter of flashing recovery and a rooted rom.

If you're on an AT&T One X I don't think we get the HTC tourch app. I don't have it either. And yeah like he said if you were rooted your phone would say tampered and relocked. And your carier takes care of tethering. Go to settings and then click on more. Hotspot or tethering should be right there
