I've been running CM10.1 on my p3113 for a week or so now, and decided to start trying the NIGHTLY updates... after the latest one, I seem to have lost root.
First off, how do I gain root access again.
Secondly, how do I prevent this from happening?
I apologize if this has already been answered, I've searched around the forum and haven't been able to find much regarding rooting the CM10.1 ROM.
Thank you in advance!!

If u have a custom rom you are rooted. Just cause superuser doesnt show up as an app doesnt mean you dont have root access. I am willing to be that u are in fact rooted. Hope i helped!

You're probably right Root Checker apps say I am NOT rooted but that doesn't always mean a lot... Superuser is having troubles updating my binary now. I'm going to try updating to the latest version.

Try and flash SuperSU http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Or try superuser from ClockworkMod http://www.google.com/url?q=http://download.clockworkmod.com/superuser/superuser.zip&sa=D&usg=AFQjCNGkkEFNNdbyuzVedlu9e82Du1g2BA
Just a CM10.1 bug! Root access not properly installed. Damn...

But every thing that needs root premision i cant use. Not titanium backup nothing. Can somebody help me. At tutorial it's said that i need to do flashing twice and it will be ok but it is not. And now i am afraid to anything. I would like to unroot phone instal stock android (not any rom) and than do it again.

You don't need to re-install stock. You probably don't have the binary installed properly and that's why it's giving you trouble.
Simply flash either SuperSU and SuperUser and that should be fine.
You can get either one from here:

I wouldn't know, it would be better for you to ask in the Strawberry thread.
A lot of problems can be fixed simply by reflashing either the rom or the kernel. You could try reflashing Strawberry without wiping anything and also after that fixing permissions. Good luck.
Hi there I installed CyanogenMod 10.2 on my phone ''galaxy s advance GT-I9070'' everything went perfect but i have a problem with root. after I rooted my phone i clicked on SU icon and it says ''there is no SU binary installed this is a problem! if you upgraded to andriod 4.3 you need to manually re-root- consult the revevant forums for your device!'' how to fix this please I tried to search but i found nothing I would be very thankful if someone helps me :crying:

Cyanogenmod has Root packed with it, no need to root the device again after flashing Cyanogenmod.
You could try to do a full wipe and re-flash it again to avoid problems with root in the future, also after flashing test root with a app on the Play store, just type in Root checker and you will find some that works.

I took the kitkat update some time ago now and unlocked my bootloader. I'm now about ready for a change so tried installing a custom rom through twrp but every attempt has resulted in a bootloop (m logo). I've performed a wipe as instructed on the rom threads each time so i cant understand it. Is there something special i should be doing which isnt mentioned on the rom threads?

you can only use the ones that have been updated to the KK base. im not sure which ones they are, you may want to look through them for some indication of that.
Gummy and cm11 are ready for KK. I'm running cm11 and it's pretty darn stable. Each nightly release gets better and better.

Hmm i guess that explains it as i managed to get slimkat working. So carbon rom and pacman i presume are not ready for kitkat? Really liked the sound of the carbon features so thats a bummer . I guess i'll give cm11 and gummy a try but neither really interests me in terms of features.

Acquiring root is the easy part . Just download the root exploit 'towelroot' from https://towelroot.com/ install and run from your phone. Its been a while since i did this but its just a case of clicking something and your phone will reboot after which you can install rootchecker to check you have root. Once you have root you should unlock your bootloader with motopocalypse as doing so will open up custom rom possibilities!
Edit heres a guide:

Is rooting the OPO on 4.4.4 05Q the same as rooting it on 4.4.4 44S? thanks a lot guys. I couldn't find any answer on this anywhere else considering this update is fairly new
Yes. It's the same no matter what firmware version you're on.

...and you just need to update SuperSU app in order to maintain 05Q rooted (if previous version was, of course...)
This is odd. I was previously Unlocked, and Rooted, with SuperSU 2.37. After OTA update to 05Q, my Root is gone. No SuperSU app in my installed program list.
Okay, so I go look for the latest, find that it's now at 2.46, download, reboot, flash (no errors), reboot, and i'm back into my phone. But: Still no SuperSU in my apps list, and I'm getting warnings from XPrivacy that it's not running. Does anyone recognize these symptoms? Am I still rooted or not?
thanks guys so can i use any 4.4.4 root toolkit?
i guess you can, unfortunately i'm not skilled in android things but as timmaaa said nothing changed between 44S and 05Q so your toolkit should work if you root your phone for first time. Take a little time to install custom twrp recovery and make a nandroid backup first...just in case of...

Don't use a toolkit, they're bad news. They cause more problems than they're worth, plus they allow you to do things to your device without actually knowing what's going on, which is bypassing some very crucial learning and knowledge.
This phone is very easy to unlock and root. Very easy. Just go to my guide thread here:

yes, its rooted. custom roms are always rooted.
if you find that it acts like you dont have root, look through the settings for where to turn it on. some times its in developer options.
i dont know why, but not long ago most roms started implementing a root on/off switch in settings. all its really done is start a lot of confusion, and people thinking they dont have root, when they really do.
