[APP][12/1] Calendr/Calendr+ 1.5 - Released on Market!

As you probably would have guess, inspired by clockr, here comes the calendr widget, your minimalistic calendar event widget.
How minimalistic?
Follows the style of clockr, only needed information is shown. It shows the upcoming events within 1 week range, and most importantly, it only shows 1 event.
FAQ
Can you make tapping the widget open the detail of the event?
I tried, trust me. But somehow, the event detail view open with incorrect information. If anybody knows how android properly handle calendar intents, do tell me please!
How much resource does the widget use?
No polling is done. The widget now hooks onto Android Calendar to detect changes to it. 1 widget refresh update is done per day in the case where no changes in the Android Calendar is detected.

Great work, great idea. I've wanted a calendar widget that only displays one event for ages!
One thing I've noticed is that it only displays one category, not all of them, or my shared calendars? Am I overlooking something?

You just filled a void I have tried to fill for the past year and a half. I like to have a minimum homescreen and could never find a calendar to fit into the space I wanted it to. But now I have this space filled. Thank you. You should put in the Market so we know when you update. But I suppose you want to do more alpha testing. Added this thread to favs.

I installed Calendr on my N1. I am stock, not rooted. As soon as I put the widget on my homescreen, and tried to open my6 sense, my phone froze. I had to do a battery pull. It was probably my fault but I thought you might be interested to know what happened. (I use ADWlauncher, by the way) I do really like the way the widget looks though.

Polling every 30mins? That is bad practice in Android! You'd better subscribe to calendar events using a Content Provider with your widget app and be notified of changes instantly.

im honestly new to this content provider and this is a whipped up alpha. but thanks for the pointer, i didn't know you can subscribe to the content provider. the only issue now is that, now, i need to create service for the app. hopefully it doesnt use much RAM.

Just some personal options, I would like to see control on font sizes on the views (Month, Day etc...), I just think the day numbers could be a little larger and bolder or at least give the user the option. I would also like to see a method of switching from Month, Week, Day and Agenda other than having to reach to the top left of the screen, if anything maybe because of my laziness . I just found that I had to use two hands to switch from Month to Agenda as opposed to one handed as if I was walking and had to check it or was carrying something in my other hand. That is the only thing I would say felt awkward to me. Again these are just things that jumped out to me for my personal preferences. I think it seems solid and I know it is a first release, as as I said in the review it is worth keeping an eye on. Thanks.

I use GTasks before, but one thing ever annoyed me is how complicated when you want to indent a task (I love indenting tasks...). In my app almost all operation can be performed more efficiently (maybe the most efficient way is put a lot of buttons, but I really cannot stand the ugliness of this). I know there are a lot to be done such as touth to move tasks (instead long press to move), and a sub-menu for task item to delete. I will certainly do this in future releases.

I'll add a font setting in future. About the button at top left, I once considered to put them all in the side panel, but I find that there are to much in it: the different views, the mini-month calendar, and visible calendar selector. I'll think about this method again or try to find another idea.

It is just a tool to record what you have done in you 24 hours, and I do not think most people need it, so it is disabled by default.

i noticed that when you are creating new task from widget, it displayed a wrong "create time", this is a bug right?

i'd like to have a postpone function and repeating tasks (repeats every 5 days), and a preference for your tasks as to when they are due without you having to manually set it....
anyway, enjoying this app. well done

Do you mean different color in Calendar view? Because in agenda view you could see calendar color line in left of the row.

I still don't receive birthdays notifications, and your updates unfortunately did not fix it. As you suggested, I verified the settings and checked the pie icon: everythings seems to be ok, but I don't receive notifications for birthdays. Instead, the notifications are shown for Google tasks.

Thanks man! Really love this app!
And the FC in exams are now fixed!

The app is neat. My only request is to add a few more colours beyond the eight that Google Keep allows, whether it be simply adding a few more options or a full blown colour picker. I understand it will take you time, though, so just whenever you can do it would be great!
EDIT: Almost forgot - another missing feature it would be great if you could add is support for alternating (A/B) weeks. Thanks!

Well, as much as I love this app, I can't get rid of some random FC. By creating a new homework, the app FC while saving and every time I want to launch the app again it FC till I wipe its data and cache which means all my notes are gone..
However, my i9300 is powered by latest CM10.2 nightlies and it seems some more users are affected by the FC on CM10.2 or Android 4.3 in general. I know you're a student (like me) and we have not a lot of time. So I you want, I could create a logcat when the FC occurs. If it helps in any way.
Nevertheless, a big THANK YOU for this lovely and useful app.

You can just press the report button after the app force closes when saving homework/exam and I'll get a log on the developer console.

This app is awesome... The only thing that It would miss, is a web service that would allow you to view your pending tasks and everything such as mystudentbook....

I'd do so, but after receiving a FC I'm unable to launch the app till I wipe its data..

Accidentally pressing the back button will completely exit the app instead of taking you to the previous activity. That's kind of annoying. But good work on the app though.

A simple countdown widget to never miss an important meeting, birthday, vacation or similar.
You can add more than one event at the same time of course!
In this free version you can't change the text color, background color or the picture!
How to start the widget?
Long press home to add the 3-2-1 Countdown Widget.
Just enter a date, time and event descripttion and click on top right apply button.
You can choose the text and background color. A personal note could be applied by choosing a picture for example a sun for a vacation countdown.
The widget shows the count of days until the event is reached and notifies you with a vibration, sound and led if you want (for more configuration see my other app LEDBlinker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ledblinker)

Widget fc's when editing date or time. Absolutely useless for me. You should mark this as beta.
Apps should have been tested intensively for functionality before releasing paid pro versions...

Widget fc's when editing date or time. Absolutely useless for me. You should mark this as beta.
Apps should have been tested intensively for functionality before releasing paid pro versions...

I fixed this issue already. sorry.

Bug fixed within a few hours, absolutely nice. Widget it's working like a charm now. Great work! Seconds countdown and transparency settings for the background would be nice.
I edited my commentary in Play Store instantly and bought the paid version.

btw: i have uploaded a new version to fix some little issues under kitkat.
