Sorry If the question is asked before I can't find right answer after searching for answer in related questions so I am asking for help.
I own an Android Phone Xolo A700(rooted) which runs in ICS 4.0.4.
It has Internal Storage 503 MB , Phone Storage 2 GB(for use) and i have a 8GB Micro SD card.
All I want was to install/move apps to the Phone Storage which is 2 GB. I tried different methods all they did was they will install/move apps to Internal Storage (503MB) or Micro SD card .
Can someone provide me tips or any app to install/move apps to the Phone Storage.

Well, straight to the point, phone storage uses more space than internal storage.

Thanks for answering. I already read that post. In the second pic he has a button showing "move to phone storage" I need that option.
But all is get is "move to internal storage" or "move to sd card" . Is there a way i can move apps to phone storage.

I think "internal storage" and "phone storage" are the same thing... Have you try to move an application to phone storage?

When I tried move to internal storage it goes to Internal storage(503 MB), the 2 GB phone memory left intact.
Same problem in XOLO Q800
I have same problem as i am not having SD card there is no option available to move apps.

I Think Internal Memory And Phone Memory Are The Same Thing! ,, Are You Rooted? ,, If You Are You Can Use SD Card As Internal Memory By Partitioning It ,, If You Need More Info ASk

Just a question about how Android handles Internal and SD card storage on the G2x. I've never had to think about Internal vs External before, and I'm not overly familiar with Android... so I thought I'd ask.

Internal is a 8g SD
External I have an 8g SD card.
I noticed in settings the options for Phone Memory. I assume this is the internal 8g storage. I see settings for total space, available space, unmount phone memory and format phone memory. then a setting for internal phone memory.
I assume the Phone memory is a 8g card that is partitioned or something,
The SD card settings has the similar settings.
I assume if I unmount, the format option becomes available. Being and external card with nothing running from it, formatting this card is no big deal.
What about the Phone Memory. If I unmount and format...what does that do the device? I assume that apps are installed to the storage portion of this internal memory. Data is stored there ...again I assume. If this is formatted, will the device still work?
Basically I want to put the device back into the condition it was in when I turned it on the first time.
Is there a way, non Root, to insure most data storage is to the External card? Already figured out how to get picture storage to external...how about other apps?

well i know alot of the apps let u pick sdcard or phone storage some dont tho, u have to go into settings , then applications then, manage applications. whatever app u want moved click on it then choose move to sdcard....if it has that option, like i said sometimes some apps wont let u so that option u wont be able to choose...also dont u se that space for custom roms? or do u have internal recov flashed? which i dont see why since u have an sdcard an 8gig at that
There are also some apps that let you choose where they download stuff to, internal or external. I know the LG camera app lets you choose internal or external storage for where it saves photos. As far as I know it depends on the app tho.
I have a Nexus5 and I'm taking the plunge on buying this for my girlfriend for cheap...
The question is, it has 16GB advertised as ROM, but out of that, how much is REALLY user available?
For example, I had a Microtek phone which had 8 GB rom, but it was partitioned into system, internal and phone
system had like 2GB, phone had 5GB available for photo storage and stuff, and 1GB for apps... which was really a hit in the nuts.
Is it the same with this Motorola phone? I read somewhere it says 16GB but only 12 User avaiable
out of those 12, are they all real for app installations?
What I want to avoid is installing two games and having an "insufficient memory" window

Can you just go into Storage settings and tell me how much memory does it read for Internal Storage and if there's another partition named Phone Storage? or if Internal Storage is the only partition? (other than the SD card), can you switch between SD card and internal for app installation?

That's what I read on my phone :
Internal storage :
Total space 11,65GB
Available 11.25GB
Apps (app data & media content) 270MB
....
There's no Phone Storage folder.

That depends on your rom. If you're on JB stock, KK rooted or Lollipop, you'll surely have the choice between SD card and Internal Storage.

You need to say what version of Android you are on and what company your stylo came from sprint/ tmobile/ etc

I don't have tmobile, but I'm going to answer and any tmobiles out there can correct me if I'm wrong. External is actually your phone's left over internal ram and memory card is your sd card.

I'd wager that System Storage is the /system partition. Memory Card would be internal storage, and External Storage is your removable sdcard.
Also, you should move your apps to your sdcard in Settings > Storage & USB or setup adoptable storage.

If your android only shows internal storage to install apps then it installs in your internal storage. You can move it after in SD card by using app2sd or similar apps.

I think the internal storage is your default storage that your android all data save. Install apps to your internal storage then move to SD card by using app2sd or link2sd apps.

Yes, my mistake, I'm talking about adopted storage. My issue is that in my phone I have an option to move files to the internal storage despite the fact that I'm using adopted storage.

I'm sorry... What's the problem? When you adopt the storage, go to Settings - Storage and tap the 3 dot menu, migrate all to SD card.
You can always move apps back, but after migration then the SD card is the "primary" storage point. Just how it works.

What I mean is that despite the SD card being the primary storage, the phone gives me the option to move the files from the SD card to the internal storage, and I don't know if that means that I can use the internal storage for file storaging
In the first screenshot you can see that inside Settings>Storage>Internal Storage I have the option to migrate data from the SD card to the internal storage, and inside that option (second screenshot) it says that by doing that I can free 8.25 Gb by moving files from the SD card to the internal storage. That made me think that I can still use the internal storage for something more than apps

No... There are still 2 distinct areas, adopted storage doesn't work exactly the way you think. Sorry, just getting on a plane or I would explain more.
