My 4.1.2 update keeps aborting because I am missing the JB 4.1.1 /system/app/ "LiveWallpapers.apk" and the "LiveWallpapers.odex" files. Does anyone have these for the Droid RAZR HD XT926??? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Here is the message:
Verifying current system...

Do you talk about the SFR 4.1.1 version ?
Are you trying to update with the OTA 4.1.2 that supposedly is making its way through Razr HD's and Razr Maxx Hd's in the US or are you using the update to the XT926 that was posted on Droid-life.com? Is your phone rooted? Is it running a stock ROM?

I'm using the zip file from Droid-life.com...my phone is rooted but it is temporarily unrooted with Voodoo...It is stock but I must have deleted the LiveWallpapers.
Sorry if this sounds insulting but I assume that you went to system/app and looked for the files, right? Assuming that you did, and that you did not find them, I'll tell you that I have an XT926 (US-Verizon) running 4.1.1, rooted, running stock ROM, and I DO have those two files in my system/app folder. Do you want them? How is this sort of thing (file transfers) done? LiveWallpapers.apk is 1.73MB. LiveWallpapers.odex is 73.57k. I have no idea if these are the right versions of the files or what will happen if you simply add them to your phone but, unless this is bad form for some reason, I'd be glad to send them to you.

This is the official froyo rom released by HTC on 1/8/2010. I have removed some apps which I never use, see the changes. And it is rooted of course
Changes
- Removed AppSharing
- Removed stocks
- Removed teeter
- Removed flickr
- Removed footprints
- Removed car panel
- Removed quickoffice
- Removed voice search
Download
You will also need the latest radio update which you can download here.
Restoring apps
Here is a little guide to restore apps which I removed:
1. Download "RemovedApps.rar", I attached it.
1. Find the .apk and .odex file of the app and extract them from the rar.
2. Download this ROM and open it with WinRAR, go to /system/app and add the .apk and .odex files you just extracted. Close WinRAR and it should be fine.
Removing other apps
If you want to remove other apps yourself you can also just open the ROM with WinRAR and go to /system/app and delete the .apk and .odex file.
Thanks for the effort!
Downloading.
Looks nice..
Could you drop a guide to remove more apps like Gmail and all the other google appz and still have Sense.
Well this is interesting, gonna try this one

Just be careful, removing specific apps will break things, yes. However I don't know all of the apps that do. I'm sorry

Well, under the language & keyboard settings I can select Dutch, English, French and German. Maybe there are more, I don't know.

You must use ClockwordMod recovery, or any other custom recovery with verification disabled.

If you want to unroot and install a rom that will bring up the ota update as normal do this
Download this rom:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Brav...984_signed.zip
change the name to PB99IMG and put it on your gold card, boot into recovery and select fastboot, it will install the generic 1.21 rom, then when you check for updates the froyo update will be there, btw doing this wipes everything on your phone. Worked for me although I didn't install the froyo update as I am scared of the bootloader.
Hello
Same problem with HtcFootprints
Thanks for your help, i let find how to use ClockwordMod recovery
Regards!
Hello again
I copy all missed app to to .zip
But give a new error
wrong digest
META-INF/com/google/android/update-script
Verification failed
Thanks
Nicolas
Installed works perfectly, only had to restore voicesearch.apk and his odex file, but atm i don't know what to do, this is just a /system dump and the rom doesn't restore the backup of my phone from the sdcard... i lost all sms, configs, etc.
Dont work ,error say
Main Version is older
Update fail!
why do scare about bootloader of froyo update??bricks the desire??nobody try it (same situation like us?)
Thanks
Nicolas
Hello,
My brother and I both have d2gs. I changed/removed apps in the system/apps folder as a result I was unable to upgrade to 2.4.3. My brother hasn't changed anything or rooted. If I copy his folder and overwrite my directory will I be able to update? (His phone is already updated)
Thx
Not going to work. Update updates bootloader, recovery and kernel beside system.
My advice if you can't get system stock manually is flash SBF, then update OTA

I think Vexorg might mean the system/apps folder, which he or she modified to disable bloatware. It seems that removing apps from that folder makes the update fail. One should rename the apps instead to disable (e.g. CityID.apk -> CityID.apk.bak) so the original state can be recovered when updating.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in that case copying the brother's system/apps should work fine. I've read that you can download the same APKs online to recover them, so I would imagine using the brother's directory contents should be fine as well.

Yup that's exactly what I meant, can anyone confirrm?
I have the AT&T Atrix 2 unlocked to work with other Sim Cards. Its on 2.3.6 rooted and with the "clockworkmod on every boot" mod installed.
I want to take the ICS update but dont know what will be safe steps to do so.
Shall I use a fxz file directly or first unroot then fxz or directly take the OTA.
Will flashing the fxz relocks the the phone to AT&T?
or can I remove some files from system and then take the OTA?
I am completely lost, please shed some light on this with detailed step by step instruction.
I have searched around here, but its getting confusing as the phones are modded differently by different people.
Anyone?

Have you checked for the official ICS OTA yet, and have you already downloaded it? If so, it will not install since you still have CWM Recovery. You will need to delete all the files associated with CWM and the Atrix 2 Bootstrap (if ever installed) via Root Explorer or ADB:
Removing Atrix 2 Bootstrap:
Delete file /system/bin/logwrapper
Delete file /system/bin/hijack
Rename file /system/bin/logwrapper.bin to /system/bin/logwrapper
Delete directory /preinstall/recovery (Note: This directory might not exist)
Since you also installed the recovery on boot you need to restore the following:
Removing Bootstrap Recovery on Boot:
Delete file /system/bin/mot_boot_mode
Rename file /system/bin/mot_boot_mode.bin to /system/bin/mot_boot_mode
Thanks jboxer
Ya, but ...as he asked... will it remove the unlock? i have stock 2.3.6 in an AT&T unlocked phone, will i lose the unlock if i do the OTA update?

OK, thanks.:good:
Now, i´m missing the next file, "system/priv-app/BuaContactAdapter.odex".
I find the associated .apk´s in the system/app folder, but the .odex files are missing.
Seen that TB restore my system files to the wrong folder..
Is there a chance to extract all the system files out of a 19.5.3 Image?

Not sure how to do that. You should be able to use this system dump to grab what you need.

I did it earlier, have to be rooted to see the file that's downloaded. If you're using a root explorer search for "dlpkgfile" that's the name of the newest OTA at least, I made a copy on my SD card so I could keep putting it in the right dir and avoid downloading it all over again. Since I tried all my options i'm back to unrooted, still can't upgrade from g to o.
I don't remember the exact directory, somewhere in /etc/ if I recall.

I'm having the same issue with upgrading 10G. maybe there is a way in the ota Package
EDIT:
I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699123 to force an update using the dlpkgfile from ota. I wonder if it could work for G4 also??
@TheJokah @ajent. Don't need to be rooted. Root Browser will be able to view the directory without root permissions. (I use it all the time to browse system partitions and files on unrooted devices). You can do a lot with Root Browser without root. You just can't make changes.
When the fota is available you will find it in /cache/fota
I have captured several OTAs for various devices this way...
EDIT: Make sure to copy the file after it downloads and before restart, otherwise the file will be deleted before you get it.
That is good info, thanks.
I'm pretty convinced flashfire installing the xposed zip does something that isn't reverted when flashing the unrooted system image. I used my limited knowledge to look at that xposed zip and it seems like only modifications are made to /system so it should be removed when flashing back unrooted image. I really don't know, but hope somebody can figure it out lol.
