[Q] Cannot root wildfire "s"

I have a HTC Wildfire S which is rooted with Cyanogen Mod 7.2.0 - RCO Marvel Kang. I have clockworkmod 5.0.2.8 and rom Manager Premium V5.0.0.6 installed. Further info: BB version = 47.10.35.3029h_7.46.35.08
Kernel version 2.6.35.13-drowning child-alquezz 98bfaaarf-dirks
I have problems with this root and am trying to flash alternative rom CM 7.1.0.1-buzz-signed-zip. I'm using recovery, have done a factory reset and wiped cache. when i go to install the zip i get the folllowing message.
Installing update...
assert failed:getprop("Ro.product.device")=="buzz" ||get prop ("ro.build.product")=="buzz"||get prop ("ro..product.board")="buzz"
E: Error in /sdcard/update-CM-7.1.0.1 -buzz-signed.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I then reboot and am back to original rom. (CM 7.2.0) I have tried CM 7.0.3 with similar results and even tried going back to stock rom using PCIMG49.Zip but i always get the same message E: Error in /sdcard/update-*****.zip
Firstly I want to know are the wildfire Roms compatible with wildfire "s" if not where can I access wildfire "s" roms that work. is the file PCIMG49.zip the correct restore file for wildfire "s" or is it just for wildfire ? I am a newbie and i have spent hours looking through this site. Any info you can supply would be greatly appreciated. I have numerous problems with the current rom, the main issue at present is it will not reliably send MMS
Can anyone help me load a rom that acually works for wildfire "s"

I mean that for the wildfire not a permanent root is aviable. But I'm not sure.

well this line tells every thing :
assert failed:getprop("Ro.product.device")=="buzz" ||get prop ("ro.build.product")=="buzz"||get prop ("ro..product.board")="buzz"
this is a condition that needs to be checked in order to proceed with the setup of the rom , wildfire (not s) is called "buzz" and the rom is checking for that "string" to be able to install , it's an extra security and it might save your device from a "brick"
For the wildfire s , it's not on the device list of Cyanogen , but maybe if you ask the question there , they might give you the reason and if there is any new roms .

Sense Restart Problem is SOLVED in ARHD 6.6.7 ROM

I had a problem with my phone, and wondering how to fix it.
It's when I open an app or Game (like TEMPLE RUN BRAVE), or After Browning net App , then either press the home button, or the back button, The Sense Restart every time..

Recommending to use with Faux latest kernel.. Bcoz phone also working fast in Game mode...
. Now the Phone is running without sense restart, i tested several time but still not yet Sense restarted ...
So now i realize it was problem with graphic drivers...

[Q] Phone reboots

So I got the desire S for more then a year now and decided to flash it with 4.0.4.
Build date 24 june. From here.
Now the first week I didn't seem the have any problems but now it randomly reboots. Mostly it keeps rebooting till I plug it in the powersupply then it keeps working and I can take it out again. But after a while... during a call or just when it's in my pocket it reboots again. What can be the problem here? Anyone who got a anser for that?

ROM name? How did you root / unlock your DS? What other apps have you recently added that may have helped to cause this?

CyanogenMod 9 Alpha for HTC Desire S
That mod I installed. I only installed whatsapp and google maps.
Other then that didnt do anything else.
To unlock the phone I used the following software.
SuperOneClick 2.2
adb-fastboot-win
ClockworkMod Recovery

There were problems like this a while back with CM9, but they haven't happened for a while.
There were, also, some issues with using CMW but none with using 4EXT Touch.
So, my suggestion would be:
Install 4EXT Recovery Control and Touch Recovery (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ext.recovery.control)
Install the ROM again using a clean install - superwipe all partitions as 4ext (format, not to be confused with the name of the recovery tool)

On sensation, used to be flash boot.img and enable smart flash in 4ext recovery and works wifi. But there's not any 4ext recovery for one s

If it is a sense ROM.. and you have hboot 1.14 or higher.. the WiFi partitions won't work.. no real fix other than downgrading your hboot.. not easy and could brick your phone.. I went non_sense ROM and all is good..

Do not downgrade its not safe many clam it is but if heard stories of ville bricking 2-3 weeks after downgrade.
two things that work to fix my wifi and yes im on hboot 1.14.00.4.
when you flash a new rom first use flash image gui app on your currant rom to flash boot img.
if you cant use flash image gui before flashing rom just fastboot the boot img using a pc then after new rom is up and running use flash image gui.
before flashing new rom wipe everything in recovery 3 times yes 3TIMES this does two things removes all traces of old rom and even thought twrp or cwm tells you it wiped it still might of failed. im noob at this but found all these tricks spending many hours reading and reading and reading and reading well you get what im saying. if anyone with more knowledge then me sees something wrong with what ive said feel free to let me know.

If he is using a sense ROM 4.1.2 or newer WiFi will not work period no matter how or what you use to flash it is a widely known issue for hboot 1.14

PAC-Man ROM works very well for me. The only thing that is missing is wifi calling. But I can live without it. Lots of tweaks!

Unless you really know what you're doing, I wouldn't go downgrading your hboot. I think its more or less a one way street. But I've had no problems with the 2.15 version that came with the jb ota. I'm alternating between various sense and senseless ROMs (currently using the job Nonsense ROM, which is excellent) and have no WiFi issues. As I said to the Dev, no WiFi would be a deal breaker for me.

You may need to upgrade your phones wifi firmwares to work with some (all?) Sense ROMs. Sense ROM's take their wifi firmware from two partitions (18 & 19). However on higher hboot firmwares these partitions are not writable - like a bad joke flashing them will appear to work but won't.
I'm dreaming up a workaround that just might fix this. Trouble is, I cannot replicate the problem - I downgraded my hboot and flashed them and curse it now it's working! You cannot get yours to work and I cannot break mine Please can you tell me your baseband version. settings -> about -> software information -> more.
Good news is that CM10 based ROMs will work out of the box, wifi and radio firmware is baked in the ROM and installed in the filesystem of the phone - so it's easily changed shoud the need arise.

Sofar the only 4.1.1 sense ROM that is playing nice with hboot 1.14 is Virtuous Ville+ I use it on a Tmo USA One S and its flawless. WiFi works perfect.

I flashed the Android Sense Best Stock v.3.0 by BehradGH on my TMOU One S with Hboot 1.14 Rooted S-ON This rom rocks so I didn't want to have to get rid of it to get my wifi back...
I've been bummed out and going nuts reading every post from downgrading/upgrading Hboots... to installing linux and going through the process of locking/unlocking.. blah blah blah... I was freaking out!
UNTIL I came upon this post tonight buried deep in the forums... I am admittedly a semi-noob.. well I know just enough to get myself into trouble... and out again haha ... but the post had a link to a .zip file that you can copy onto your internal storage... boot into cwm recovery and simply flash it from there... reboot... and voila... Instant wifi connection! IT WORKS!!
No repartitioning... no flashing radios or anything else...iit takes 3 minutes!

The zip file is called "htc_on-s_wifi_fix.zip"
I was skeptical at first... but willing to try anything at this point to get my wifi working on this awesome rom... so i copied it onto my sd card, rebooted into recovery in CWM, ... flashed the zip file, ...rebooted the phone and voila! Instant "wifi It immediately started searching for ip address" (it never got that far before... just said connection problems) ... 2 seconds later it found my network and connected to my in a flash!
My phone is going crazy downloading updates at lightening speeds!! WOOT!!
My sincere apologies to the poster who actually wrote this little script for not being able to thank and acknowledge him for his work... I had like 10 windows open and i couldn't find it... but he is my new hero!!

I will do my best to explain my self...
The best rom for me was Elegancia sens 3.6 v3.9.0 and at that time there was this problem with landcode thank god there is this wiffix
undtil few days ago my phone was laggy as **** so a thought that i need to install a new rom, and i went for Elegancia sens 4.1 v8.0.0
kernel sebastianfm 1.5.2..I flashed it installed wifix and woop i had WIFI :fingers-crossed: " I have this problem with the god damn country code"
I restartet the phone and wifi was gone i mean gone.. I thought what the hell now... Then i started to read articals...
First this one and i could not figured it out

Then i copyed this file bcmdhd.ko from XDA and replaced it,And i also replaced /system/framework/framework2.jar from XDA restart phone wifi was on like 20 sec and puff gone
Then i red something aboute to delete a file from /etc/wifi and i did... wifi was on for a wile gone again

And there is this battery problem that everbody knows.
When i was on Elegancia sens 3.6 v3.9.0 i a had issuu back then...I replaced the cable and a put in a new 1800mh and it has worked just fine
i could be doing havey doing and still have 40-50% left after 10-12 hours using...
But now on Elegancia sens 4.1 v8.0.0 i manage like kinda 4 hours. The first 10min i was on a game and it went from 98% to 45% and 3½ hours later it was dead... Got home from work back to read...Then i read it coud be a kernel prb.. I was on sebastianfm 1.5.2.. I flashed 3.053-pyd-x-test4.19 and mod 1.2.3...
So is there any other solutions for my wifi and battery without going back to elegancia 3.6v4.0.
