[Q] What online storage you use to upload your phone photos? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

All,
What do you guys use to upload/sync the photos on your phone to? I'm worried one day, if I lose or my sd card fails, I'll lose all the photos on my phone. I rather keep it online and sync'd as oppose to copying it locally to my pc. Though I would still do that.
So Dropbox, Google Drive? Or Picasa or Google +?
Thanks!

I use Dropbox. One day I'll get off my lazy butt and install the script to sync it to my iPhoto on my Mac at home lol.

I use dropbox, I have the 50gb hack. I am always afraid they will take it away and day, I then copy all my photos to a thumb drive.

I use dropbox and once a month I back them all up to my external hard drive.

Awesome guys!
Dropbox it is then! And backup to hd once a month!
Thanks again!

They also offer two step verification, give you another layer of security if they ever get hacked.

Same. I have it on my phone, back it up to drop box, I have like 4GB of storage now. Then I back up all the photos to my computer, then have my computer back everything up to an external hard drive.
Allway sync is a great program for back up on PC
Every so often I'll clean flash a ROM and delete all my pictures and stuff (after I back up)

With ASTRO File Manager you could access your Skydrive or Google Drive from the app itself, but i would choose google drive just because its so accessible.

I don't trust any cloud service. I just back up to my PC.

[Q] Autosync selected folders to online storage

Is there a way to do this?
Specifically, a way to sync my pictures and videos to some sort of online storage as and when I take them, or at a preset interval.
Just now, my phone and laptop weren't playing nice and it wouldn't mount as USB. So, I disconnected from USB. Now, I find a bunch of pictures and videos and lord knows what else have just disappeared. I'd like to be able to have a constant back up of these things.
I think dropbox has this feature. You only get 2GB free, buy a very useful app.

I know Titanium Backup has a feature called 'Media Sync' that does just that, too.
Dropbox is great btw.

Dropbox will not do this by itself but, Titanium Backup Media Sync seems like it will use Dropbox to do it for me. Thanks!

Sync pictures from phone to transformer

Looking for an app to sync pictures from phone automatically to transformer....tried sugarsync but I can only sync to the cloud automatically...can't seem to sync between the two...any ideas ?

Maybe some kind of WiFi sync. It usually involved a PC so not sure how it would work for you. Also look into Picassa sync
Dropbox app? I will try this and report back. If Wifi Media Sync by the makers of TitaniumBackup works on Transformer, that would do it. Will try that too...

Try out syncness on each device, syncing to dropbox (or network share)
Works well for me
Ok, tried a few things...first i tried sugarsync, and it seems to work, but you can't use the auto photo backup. You have to choose your pictures folder and it will automatically sync that folder to the cloud drive. It will be under mobile briefcase..so if you do that on each device the pictures will all sync into mobile briefcase from each device.
The second one, and the one i want to work, is via webstorage, since we have unlimited access. However, it doesn't seem like you can autosync any folder from android into this...all the folders or files have to be manually uploaded. Its kind of a sucky app at the moment...on both my phone and my transformer, but it is helpful to transfer movies or music manually.
...and syncness is good, but it seems like the same thing as sugarsync..sugarsync offers 5gb of free space though
Try something that syncs to your picasa automatically like picpush. I use that on my phone which happens to be my primary camera (they always say the best camera is the one you have on you) and my pics show up in the gallery on all of my devices and on any web browser.
If you are using an Android phone the Picasa app works fantastically for keeping things connected between devices. I can access my Picasa albums from a PC with internet or the Picasa photo editing program as well as on my Android smartphone via the Picasa app and here on the Transformer via the picasa app. Cool thing about the Transformer is the Picasa app works directly with the stock gallery app on the Transformer so your picasa albums show up with all your locally stored albums. Works very well and is all part of having a Google account.
Try it out.
Awesome!! I found an app that is completely free called photocloud that does the same thing...and its great that the pictures show up automatically in the gallery...I see u can choose to save them for offline viewing also but I haven't figured out how to do it for the individual pictures that I want..either way thanks for the help and try photocloud ...free!

Sync and backup your contacts and calendar on a cloud for free!

I've found this free app to sync all your contacts and your calendar with your phones, tablet and PC. It stores the data on a cloud so if your phone gets stolen or breaks it will still have your data stored. People always think about this when it's too late, I decided to take precautions before I get into trouble! Give it a try, it's very simple clean and free:

Thanks for this, but did you know that Google provides this very same service without having to install any third-party app?

Can we store photos only on google drive? **guide pending**

Seeing as the storage space on the Moto G is so limited, I'm wondering if there is a way to keep all of the camera pictures in the cloud only. I tried deleting some from the gallery but they disappeared from the cloud as well. Do any of you guys have a solution for this?
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
What i do is that i "share" them to gdrive, once they finish upload i delete them from my gallery. The pictures on drive won't delete by doing that.
I'm not currently running my Moto G, but this sounds like something that might be achieved with FolderSync. It's possible to set up one-way sync, then just delete the local copy.
You can also store them to Dropbox, Flickr, or one of the other photo storage apps.

I use the Google+ auto upload feature. Simple.

Yes but then if you delete them from the phone they get deleted from the cloud as well.

No they don't. I do it every day. Once they are auto uploaded you end up with a local copy on your phone and a new version in Google+.

Well I am finding Google+ to be more cumbersome compared to just manually uploading to Google drive every so often. I like how I can create folders on google drive. I'm actually going to resize all the photos in my entire library so that I effectively get unlimited Google drive storage, plus the files will be easier to download.
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
You can organise Google+ photos into albums. But your Drive folders should show up in Google+ and the Photos app so it's win-win.

This. After losing family pics to stolen phones and bad wipes. G+ photos was a life saver
So I discovered a great Windows application called "FastStone" photo resizer. Here is what I did with it:
1. I did a search for *.jpg in my photos folder (I had a lot of folders unorganized, about 80gb worth over the past 10+ years).
2. I copied and pasted all of those jpeg files into a new folder I created called "Photos to be resized for google drive".
3. I ran FastStone photo resizer and set the options so that it would rename all of the photos by date, and also resize them all so that their longest side was 2048 pixels. I left the jpeg quality at 90%.
4. I grouped the photos into folders by year.
5. I put everything into my google drive folder.
Now I have over 80gb of photos in my google drive folder and still have all of my space unused because the longest side of the photos never exceeds 2048 pixels!
Thanks everyone for your input. I'm really enjoying google drive and the moto g. 8gb is more than adequate with all this cloud storage.
Unfortunately I have to update this because the photos have to be on google+. If you leave them on google drive then they count toward your quota.
You can have the 'photos' app set to auto upload, which I initially thought would be good until I also found out it uploads all your videos too with no way to tell it to ignore certain directories, so if you store any videos on board that might be a problem.

Google photos backup

Not sure if this is the correct section, I have a few years of Google Photos backed up and no real way for an offline or duplicate back up. Are there any solutions for an offline backup? I know there is an export function to download your data, but looking for a more mainstream option to sync to my pc or external drive?

Hey there, I actually tried that before and it allows you up upload photos, but you cannot download a copy of Photos to your PC. I think that is mainly for Drive and on the Photos section takes you to the web.

That's the export function I was referring to in my original post. You request the data, and get a link in few hours to couple days and do a massive download.
What I am looking for is an active sync to PC or local storage. Like Dropbox or OneDrive does with the client.
Still looking for a local sync option. Current option are only manually downloading pictures
