Helo there
I have a Motorola Fire Xt 530, I had rooted it and it was going on fine back then, until one day I realized that I cannot connect the phone by using the USB, in the computer it keeps on saying USB not recognized, and on the phone it's only charging and no option for usb mass storage. I had installed the Motorola device manager for the driver and had tried on a different computer. I had tried to to flash mode by pressing the power button plus the volume down key and camera button, and the same thing still happened, the computer doesn't recognize it. I had also checked the enable debug.
What can I do to fix it since I want to flash the Ice Cream Jelly rom, since it's not recognized i cannot flash it to the computer.
Thank you for your help in advance
Cheers

use a different usb cabe and port on computer
Hi thanks for the reply
I had tried using 3 different cables in different computers also, and they all say the same thing, usb device not recognized. The funny thing is I can use the motorola cable to connect my nexus 7 to the computer, but it cannot connect the motorola fire xt. Is there a possibility that the phone system's is damaged? If so how can it be fixed?
Thanks

Are you trying to connect to transfer files, sync outlook or issue ADB or APX commands?
Does your computer play the new hardware sound?
What OS is your computer running?
Do you have USB Debugging checked?
Have you tried another USB port on your computer?
Also, many of the JB ROMs show a charging indicator via USB even if it is not really charging.

Hello,
I've had a GT-N8013 for a few years and just recently decided to try something besides stock on it. Darn thing is, once I reset the tablet to factory settings (4.1.2) and got prepared to flash CWRecovery my PC stopped recognizing the tablet via USB. So obviously, I now can't use ODIN which kinda sucks.
The tablet lights up when I plug it in (Red X on battery icon, but that's understandable - although, it does that on the wall charger too), but the PC does not respond at all. No change in Device Manager.
Things I've tried or noted:
I have tried it on multiple machines and multiple ports
I bought and tried a new UBS cable
I bought and replaced the charging port
I have tried Kies, different drivers, etc.
Rebooting tablet/PC
With/without USB Debugging enabled
Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!

Don't use Kies.
Download Samsung USB driver & install it, then may be restart your PC.
If you use MS Windows download ODIN.
If you use Mac or Linux download Heimdall instead of ODIN.
Download the ROM.
Set your GT-N8013 to Download Mode (ODIN mode).
Connect your your GT-N8013 to your PC.
READ the instruction for FLASHING A CUSTOM ROM!
Well, it just doesn't boot, keys combinations doesn't work anymore and my computer only recognizes the phone if I connect it without the battery plugged ( disassembled ), then the LED turns on green and nothing else happens.
I downgraded to the ICS Version of the device and worked perfectly fine, I used it for about 2 months, but when I noticed the lack of functionality compared to 4.4.1 KitKat I decided to upgrade it via OTA. I downloaded the JB Rom version via OTA to prepare my device again for KitKat, "Install Now", but when the flashing process ended it never turned on again, I almost tried everything without finding a solution. But, when I was trying to do something by my self I noticed something; I can't access to the phone with the battery plugged, but when I remove the battery from the connector and plug it into my PC the LED turns on green and the computer detects that there's a device plugged in without showing any dialog box of which devices is.
If there's any help I would appreciate it. Thanks

It says that I plugged an "Unknown USB Input Device" not detected by RSD but by Windows.
Installing Motorola Drivers didn't solved that problem
Edit: Plugged in without the battery connected to the main board, but the screen it's connected to the device by the two Flex
Hello,
I've been trying to charge my phone through the USB cable that came with the device. It works with the charger, but once i plug it into my pc it doesnt work. When I open Sony PC Companion it doesnt recognize a device either. Now when I enable USB debugging, it works for 2 seconds and then it goes back to non functioning. What i mean by it works for 2 seconds is, the device gets recognized by sony pc companion but then gets unrecognized immediately, i get the charging icon for 2 seconds en the device says its connected to the pc via MTP. But then I can't do anything with it. In device manager it has 2 unrecognized devices: ADB interface and MTP.
What is wrong here?
bump
Try another cable if you have one.
Also install the drivers for your phone from this site.

without recognizing charging function must work!
but test this >
uninstall PC companion > then go to drive C/Program Files and Files x86 and delete Sony and Sony Mobile folders (if exist)
then restart and Install it again.
If doesn't help

Last week I found a solution, the universal adb driver from Google fixed my problem. The driver from Sony doesn't work, but this one does!

Need help. I was using Miracle Box to flash stock ROM, I don't know how but the phone (Micromax E453) is bricked now. I tried to start phone in Meta Mode (swiched off phone connected to PC by holding volume up button), it worked once, then following some tutorials I uninstalled (and checked, Delete the driver software for this device) MTK USB COM driver under port. Since then phone is not turning on and PC is not recognizing the device. Tired changing the USB cable and even tried it on another laptop, but no go. Kindly share what else I can try. PC has Windows 10 64 bit and MTK preloader vcom driver always has yellow exclamation mark (always installs with error code 10). I have disabled driver signature verificiation.

Did you have USB debugging enabled in the device's system settings before it got bricked? If not, you might not get it to connect via USB and be recognized.

Thank you for your response. Yes, USB debugging was enabled before it got bricked. I was able to successfully see my device when I ran adb -devices command. I was also able to run fastboot commands. Now its completely dead.
