My UI keeps showing white backgrounds after the last update, like under the notification bar. What can I do to fix this? I've looked but haven't really found anything. Thanks in advance

This should be in the Q&A Section.

Are you running kinda crap mods on a MB1-based rom? If so, that's your problem.

If the ROM you are using is unodexed, you just need to change it the statusbar in the framework-res.apk, unless you are using CM7 then it is in the systemui.apk
Thanks, but I have not modded my g2x as of yet. I am curious to see how the update will go first, then I will change roms. I am currently working with the stock rom. I thought someone may know of an app or knows a launcher that maybe able to do the trick. your input is much appreciated..

As you see in the screenshot, I have a message notification and it is grey and hard to see outside in the sun. Normally, the icon is a nice bright white. Is there any way to fix this without root access?

Not if you want to keep the stock messages app. If you root their are obvious answers like AOKP, you can change the notification color and transparency settings. Un-rooted you can download a third party texting app. GOsms offers different color notification colors for the messages. It isn't transparency, but it'll still make it a little easier to see.

Ok, thanks. Do you think this might be changed in the Jelly Bean update?

Question Why does it flash a red bar around the screen at random times?
I was trying to use the navigation app but this red boarder was flashing the whole time.
I tried to capture a screen shot but was not quick enough. So I derw a red line in for an example

Anyone else have a idea on why it's doing that? It's driving me nuts. How do I get rid of it?

It's from strict mode. It will flash anytime an app has an error. Did you change anything in development settings or dev tools?
No not that I know of ill have a look see if I see something

this can be accomplished with SQLite editor. hopefully this is sufficient search material to find the numerous relevant threads on this very topic.
I see this in my notification bar and can't identify it.
Thanks.

Also, unrelated, is anyone's camera force closing when opening it in portrait mode?

Ah that's it, seems silly to have a notification icon for that, thanks.

Yep, mine is. It also force closes if I open in landscape and then switch to portrait.

No Lastpass here. I do have Dashlane but there are no settings that interact with the camera - I did toggle the screenshot setting to see if it changed anything, but it didn't.
