Hi all people ...i was just looking around in forums for a nexus one theme but there was not even a single good one out there but ten the Darkedge UI for motodroid got my attention and just wanted to have it on my nexus one so i just downloaded the MotoDroid version of morph and installed on my nexus using metamorph application and guess what it worked as a charm. It does not even lags and yes I have not modded any thing in the zip file.
THIS IS NOT MY THEME AND I HAVE NOT EVEN TOUCHED THIS FILES JUST TRIED ON MY NEXUS AND IT WORKED

requirments:
CyanogenMod-5: Kang Central Station (STABLE) [5.0.6]
just install using metamorph as a regular theme file.
I have also uploaded the icon pack of Darkedge. Apply it with Metamorph as a regular theme and it will update all the apps that you have and if you don't have that app then it will skip that task
--"use the nexus live wallpaper but change colour scheme to ZION and background to dark. NOW IT LOOKS PERFECT"
--use the icon pack morph to update the icons
--and the app morph in the original thread is the morph for updating the theme of some applications.......be carefull as some applications such as facebook.....are updated with black background with black text on them.....making it hard to read.

If you have any problem with any of the application then simply apply the theme one file at a time and skip the one that results in FC

USEFUL COMMENTS/INSTRUCTIONS
OK......this slider in metamorphs settings is.....that it will delay the restart process after the theme is applied.....so if u set the slider too up then it will take very long to start the process resulting in geting stuck.....or if you set it too low....then it will restart too often making it extremely hard to copy all files in system.....and resulting in reboot sequence and eventually you will have to flash the rom again....so keep trying with change in the delay slider.....with gradual changes as if you were overclocking.... ..

Doesn't sound like he ported it. Looks like he took a chance of it working on the N1 and is reporting that it does. -- That being said...it'll be cool if someone could port it over as an update.zip!

never happed to me but check your metamorph settings and at the bottom you will see a slider. Try to decrease it and then just apply the framework and see what happens. But dont bring it all the down to 0 or it will reebot often

sorry about any issues everyone. let me clarify a few things while i answer some questions along the way. I tested both of these myself and spent all day getting my new mod to work with 27#1 and 27#2. between ALL the nightlys and the RC1 i have NEVER done a COMPLETE wipe. I got 4.2 and 4.3 to work with my 27#1 & 27#2. SInce all these issues that i cannot recreate, i will limit the use of 4.2 & 4.3 to everyone above release 27#2 to avoid further problems. i need more help testing to figure out what is going on for everyone else. i listed my procedure and thats how ive done it from the beginning and ive never had to wipe my data and have only had fc's with a program that i removed which did not come with cyanogenmod. so def. not cyans rom;my own fault. I will change the op to say 4.2 and 4.3 will only work on 27#2 until i can test further. i worked till 835pm thru 22 bootloops to finally figure out the issue and get them to boot on top of my 27#2 which i flashed ontop of 26 which i flashed ontop of 25,etc....flashing my mod inbetween every rom install to get all my addons back. hello, when i woke up this morning and saw the awesome news i couldnt help but do what i do. so i themed my favorite kb cyan to match the cyan rom. im still testing it. i put this together so that anyone who wanted to flash just one rom and get everything else they needed in one more flash(if they wanted the xtras) plus a few other utilities that we are used to(a little remnant from sense as well). this is the version with google craps built in. thats most of the addition. the rest are small other than the sweet new kb. man cyan looks sooo much better than green. iim still editing MY own setup now. I will update this accordingly. the pack will include the new cyan kb, and the googles. I take no credit for anything here other than theming the swype, adding a bunch of files to their corresponding folders,signing, flashing,testing, and then ul'ing. I forgot to mention, i added flash 10.1 blahblah(it works awesome) and wifitether works too(see screens below) i was going to theme the adw, but im still deciding. if i do it will be a white transparent rather than smoke. maybe later today EVERYONE thank CYANOGEN, this is awesome.....

I have to hex edit the value for the text. lemme find it and ill see what i can do. messing with taskers can sometimes be alot of editing when you have to make them all white all black or transparent takes the longest, just depends what color youre coming from. ill find that guide when i get a chance and ill post here or pm. you should give the white a chance, its very clean looking actually, not telling you what to do, just a suggestion that cant hurt.
I'm sure the white looks great. I'm just not a fan of it. When I had the Nexus One, I always changed it to black. Now, I keep my notification bar hidden since I don't really need it. I just prefer the black.
Don't worry about it if it will take too much time. It's not a big deal.

All the people wanting a black notification... go to settings, cyanogen settings, and change the colors and reboot... that's it

I love this theme, stable and clean. Theme only problem I have is the font is hard to read. Any way to change it back to stock?

Dont be scared trust me. once you do youll kick yourself for not doing it sooner. i dont blame you for being cautious though( i value my evo greatly) ive been running it since i put this mod together, and man, team cyan are awesome. its so smooth running. if you have any issues i will gladly help you get rolling. only issues are the 4g and mms for me and i dont use either and i never have so i dont lose anything. i was happy with hero_overs pastry till this morning. NOW I HAVE BOTH CAMS AGAIN. JOY....

THis is a VERY common issue for me. Im going to start a thread for this. It will be a font thread. bring me fonts and ill turn them into update.zips. sounds good to me. if you want to do it yourself magicalan ill show you though, its very simple either way. o,btw i didnt flash them, everything is built in before i flash, thats why everything works

Magnus, I must say, this theme is actually pretty decent. I know I've ripped on you for your themes before, but you definitely toned this one down a lot and made it a lot nicer to look at, so congrats on the job well done. I do agree with a few of the other people in this thread though regarding the font...its not an easy font to read, especially not on a phone screen. I'm not sure how the whole font things work, but if you can push any font in, might I suggest Nobile regular. Its a nice, clean font created by Vernon Adams that I think would have fantastic readability on a mobile screen. It is licensed under the Open Font License, so it should be perfectly legal to use it in a free project like this. I've attached a zip of the font to this post.
edit: I just pushed Nobile to my phone via ADB and it looks really nice. I think you should consider it for your default font for the theme, or perhaps find a different clean font that fits your liking.
Well one of the things I hate most is the ugly white in the MMS.apk..Of all the silly options like weather in pulldown etc thats included in CM9/AOKP I was hoping we could at least get a black background option but I guess its more important to see what temp it is outside or to toggle your swagger on/off.
So if you're tired of the ugly white MMS.apk thats clearly neglected then I have the mod for you. This is a transparent modded MMS.apk that is build off travp624's new Mms.apk which combines the best of cm9 and AOKP.
I hope you enjoy this..Just flash the zip in recovery or manually push the apk.

did you set correct permission after push?
Ive tested this on latest cm9 nightly, AOKP37/38, Paranoid v0.2 and Asylum v09
set permission like all other apps in /System/apps...wrong???
edit: old sms.apk had same permissions...

yeah match the other ones..what cm9 are you on?
if thats not working go back to a working default one and try the flashable zip.

Unfortunately, I'm on a Skyrocket and the most recent AOKP build at the moment is b37. Figured I would try it anyways and neither pushing it manually or flashing the zip would work. I'm guessing there will be an update for my ROM here very shortly and I will try again.
btw, do you happen to know why it is that no one seems to be able to make the dialer or contacts transparent on CM9/AOKP? I've been trying to figure out how do to this for awhile and it seems like the only mention of this that I come across is in your Mixer ICS thread about how it's not possible yet. Do you happen to know what the issue is by any chance?

It is now an option in the settings menu for the app in CM9. It's under "soft keyboard type."
I made an hdpi version of this based on the new CM9 Mms.apk but I'll wait until MrDSL gives the okay to post it or let him post it.
Is this compatible for DXLP9? because i install it thru root explorer and my stock sms is gone.

I just installed this on the latest CM9 and it works and looks great! It looks a LOT better than the stock CM9 one. It's just a shame the vibration pattern option is missing nice work though.

Maybe possible some variants like 20% transparent only or stock line partitions instead of bubbles but in subtle dark form (grey-blue ics style) ...
Would love to have those ... even if it means donating
Another edit I recommend is to move the bubble arrow (pointing to the avatar) from bottom to top ... reason being for large messages or bubbles the arrow move down (away from avatar) and doesnt really give that feel ... if on top, they will always point to the avatar irrespective of message size !!

Some of you might know the latest AOKP messaging app has been modified to allow the theme engine to theme the entire messaging app. However it lacks a lot of options the cm10 messaging app now has especially the quick message popup, vibrate on call etc.

So I decided to make the cm10 messaging app theme engine compatible. I also added theme support for the popup window. This is completely STOCK except for the added theme engine support.
These are no longer needed since cm10 has now merged full MMS theme engine support.
For those of you who want to add message theming to you cm10 theme apk I will also include a inverted working example. Keep in mind this is JB only and those who would use your theme apk with cm9/ICS it will surely break the message app and make it unreadable.
The Mms.apk I have attached should work on any ROM thats based off JB cm10/AOKP variant.
The template to add inverted mms to your Jelly Bean theme apk is attached to the post below.

lol i was literally gonna make this the other day... but i was working on my new theme for release... my themes have supported my own version of mms.apk since JB came out... i hate doing extra work especially if its done already... i have a few questions tho... was the Mms.apk in the screenshots inverted and that's why it has white text? or is the font, app wide, theme-able? does this mms.apk have "emoji" support, sms split (160 char), mms convert (sms over 160 doesn't split it, just converts to mms)??
sorry for all the questions... just wanna know if i should download this or not... and maybe we can work together to get a universal mms.apk... i heard bboy is working on being able to theme a lot of apps that aren't currently theme-able...

The screenshots are definitely inverted..actually those pics are from my transparent mms..the font app wide is themeable..i used the new aokp that has full engine support as a guide and edited all the layouts needed to get the colors needed in colors.xml. If you download the stock one its completely stock colors..plain old white but supports theme engine.
the cm10 message app has emoji support..i sent a long text to myself and it appears to split after 160 and not auto convert to mms.
im fairly confident now i can add theme engine support to just about any JB message app. im not good with adding new options though.

Any one here try emoji in new messaging app...the green droids is awesome, i think..but i prefer original ones...i try some MMS.apk but it didn't work like a charm ...i think that in the next release it will be great if there is an option to choose, Android style and Standard style..right?..
I would love this if there was a way to make it look like a stock inverted mms, that matches the rest of JB/ICS. I'd love it even more if the people app did the same thing.

manually push the Mms.apk to /system/app/ with like root explorer and set file permissions and reboot......
Curious about a small issue... each time I apply a theme it removes the all the mods, that should apply with the theme apk, within mms.apk I then have to reinstall your modified mms.apk to regain the various themed parts to mms. Any reason for this?

My theme is the only theme I know of that themes the MMS with this new theme engine support.
Apparently b-boy submitted the changes to cm10 team so hopefully they get merged.
At some point I imagine more themers will support it but right now probably not.
where can i download this theme chooser compatible mms?? i wanna see if my themes grab it... i saw a SS on someone else's phone the other day that wasn't MY mms.apk but it was still showing my themed images... i've had the themed images in my themes since JB so hopefully its only minor changes and i don't have to redo them all... maybe just fix a few lines lol

sorry i should have been more specific... the theme im building, each time i make changes and apply to test them, i then lose the mms mods and have to reinstall the mms.apk.

Its defined as black in styles.XML so I imagine you could change it to an image there.

Why you want to have separate apps?
It's just like a stock message app, but with moddify stuff.
You can receive sms/mms in this one app and you have just to replace one file and change perrmision.

You are talking about turn off showed avatars in window where you write a message to somebody?
If yes go to message>menu>settings>mms theme settings>messaging style > "SHOW CONTACT AVATAR", tick off

I'm a flashoholic of new rom and I first saw this app in oen rom so I decided to extracted the app and shere with You.
I don't see anywhere a lot of options in settings like in this app.
I've tried a AOKP cm10 rom, but I didn't see mms app like this.
Is it possible to keep the lines between sms messages like in the default messages? I tried all the bubble frame options, but none of them is just as simple line to keep the messages seperated.

Could you add a few more things to it? Like:
- Increase the maximum lines of the textfield from 3 lines to something higher, so we can see more lines of the text we are currently writing without scrolling around that much. Would be nice if it was possible to change the number of those lines in the settings.
- Just a little "beauty" issue: When using the "bubble arrow side" setting, is it possible that the peak of the bubble is on top, so it comes from the avatar instead of being all the way down at the bottom, which is kinda "unlucky" when having longer messages (like 2+ sms messages sent as one...for example a message with like 400 characters for example)?

#1 If You want to see more lines of text during You write something I think You have just to decrease the size of font in mms.apk. I don't remmember if this option is include in mms.apk options, but You can use this : Xposed modifications framework installer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401

Have You give all correct permission? Rw-r-r?
If not , It's seems to be a incompatible rom with apk. I don't really remember if it's working with 4.1.2,because for a long time I use 4.2.x. cm 10.1 rom from which one You want to take a mms.apk is for sure a incompatible apk, it is just for 4.2.x.
I love your sms app, just missing chathead mod and all will be perfect
