[Q] samsung galaxy gt L5360 memory issue ? - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I search for my phone in these forum but im not to find it
in anyway I have issue with my phone memory it too small anway to use the memory card instead ?

Try using the "All in one toolbox" app to free up some memory. However you can use the memory of the phone however it's not quick enough so you won't see hardly any improvements.

Memory low due to low app space?

Guys please let me know honestly if its a pain due to small app space on vibrant 4g...
I'm about to trade my vibrant and pay and pay additional $100 on top of that for a vibrant 4g.... is that a good deal or not forth it?
Because on my vibrant 3g I never get low memory because I have dedicated 2gb of app space...
Thanx
sent from my completely stock vibrant
If your rooted and have deleted all the bloatware and done the fota fix you should have about 350mb internal memory for apps. Use link2sd or apps2sd to have movable apps installed on your SD card and you should never have any space issues.

yeah that happens to me too. if you are rooted you can also clear up your cache via recovery as well as deleting all that bloatware with Titanium back if you dont wanna do it through terminal emulator, which the SGS4g has alot.....
So the only way to move apps to sd is to root?

Did you try apps2sd or link2sd?

I've rooted my device Samsung Galaxy S 4G from T-Mobile and I am using task killer, but still having issues with the memory.
Anyone have a solution to the lagging problem?

Vibrant plus 100 is steep man... Think it over. Vibrants still go for about 200-250. Sell that then use the money plus the extra hundred you were about to spend and grab a Sensation or something. I see a lot of new Sensations for about 300-350 on CL.
Good luck.

If you use custom rom or root and delete fota files you will get about 300MB left on your phone. Theres also the option to move some app to 16GB sd card (most will suport this feature, but some don't).
OK guys I tried all the app2sd apps in the market... all of them show 0 movable apps... so please help me out with this: is there a one click root apparently for this phone? And where can I download it... and which files are safe to remove and how do I remove them... I'm new to rooting and u would need to break it down like to an infant... I only plan on removing all the bloatware crap... this phone has way too much of it!

Are the apps stored on the sd card
?
If they are move then back to internal storage, there is plenty on this device do shouldn't be a problem, if not pass

Well I assume it's a bug as I also had this problem, but with this device there is loads of internal memory, so no real need to locate any applications on the sd card, unless they are massive.

Ive sent the inquiry to htc, regarding this matter and this is their reply, as expected the support is really good, ... But i dont want to uninstall my apps, specially games.. sad though
Dear mario,
Thanks for contacting HTC. We understand your concern. We are more than glad to assist you on this matter. For you query you have mentioned that you’re having a problem with the shortcut display image of the application on your home screen. If that specific application is installed on your SD card please do not worry because your HTC Desire S is still reading your SD card. It seems that you installed too many Applications on your SD card and I would advise you to uninstall 3rd party Application that you do not frequently used. To remove 3rd party Application please do the following steps: 1. from Home Screen Tap Menu 2. Settings>Application 3. Manage Application 4. Choose Specific Application you want to uninstall We advise you to please soft reset your phone. To soft reset please do the following steps: 1. Please turn off your phone. 2. Remove the back cover. 3. Take the battery out and let it rest for 10 seconds. 4. Reset the battery and then turn on your phone. Should you need further assistance, please feel free to share your preferred contact schedule with us as we would be more than happy to contact you directly over the phone for assistance.
Sincerely,
Andrew

From what I've seen, it's not an easy task & not even always desirable. Many apps are designed by the Devs to Have to be installed on the internal sd. Since you've searched, you're probably aware of some apps that allow you to move some (but not all) apps to the external sd card.
Have a look at this link;
http://androidforums.com/lg-esteem/497036-internal-external-sd-solution.html
And as for searching, Google is sometimes a better place to search than xda..

Thanks for the info. I normally search google over Things like this but figured someone might have had the same question here on xda.

Download a file manager and start deleting what u don't need.

Download File Analyser from the play store and find out which files are hogging up the most space that aren't useful and delete.

Your phone shouldn't slow down "considerably" because of a full sd card... Are you rooted? Do u have anitivirus software? Av softwares are resource hogs and should be used temporarily and uninstalled after scans. If u are using a task killer or RAM manager, you will see adverse affects as well. What apps are running when you hold the home button to view currently running tasks?
If you still do believe it is a result of a full sd card, i like astro file manager. The stock file manager to delete sd contents should suffice though.
Tapped² from my I5³5
Also any games you don't use, uninstall them, that too take alot of space, as.videos take up a ton too.

[Q] Apps install to MicroSD default?

So yes, as the title suggests, I want to move my default app install location to my MicroSD card. I've seen lots of tutorials on how to move the default install place to the internal SD card, but nothing has said how to move them to the MicroSD. Thanks for your help in advance!
Sent from my HP Touchpad using xda app-developers app
Are you sure you saw tutorials showing how to get info on the "internal" sd card? They normally go there. You sure it wasn't "external", that's the same as the micro sd card.

Actual you can. One way is to go to manage apps then select an app. There you will see a move to sdcard option. The easiest way by far though is to use this handy little app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidsail.dsapp2sd&hl=en
You can also use it to set the SDcard as the default save location. Some apps won't play nice if installed to SD though. Meaning they take forever to load and there widgets won't work. Why you would need to do this with a phone that has 2gigs of storage is sorta beyond me. The OP must have a metric crap ton of apps. lol

It is indeed moving them to the internal SD. Nice catch. I honestly never bothered to look at it. Just assumed SD was the external. Well you know what they say about assuming. Thanks for the catch.

The best help I can manage is a suggestion to avoid this. There is a good reason it wasn't implemented, more than one. Unless you like your apps to dramatically slow down loading times and disappear on boot, that is.

Yes, I did a bit further research and found a way, but it required making your phone think that the external SD was your internal SD, and I just thought that might be too much. Now that you say that it makes it slower, I'm going to abandon the project entirely. I have enough space on my internal SD to store my apps, and I can live with only storing media on my external. Thanks everyone!

I don't so much have a metric ton of apps, rather a metric ton of spare kernels, nandroids, and rom updates.
