White.

black for me

Gotta have to go with black again, this white device fad kinda got me a bit burnt.

I'm getting sick of dark devices already. I kind of want the white as it looks clean but it is supposed to show scratches and dirt easily. I might just have to see them in store and compare them lol.

Since the dark looks a bit blueish I vote for white.

When is white/black HTC One S coming to T-Mobile?

I've looked around and haven't seen anything regarding this. The blue color is very meh to me and I would like to know if I should hold off and wait for the white/black ones.
Does anybody know when they're coming to T-Mobile?

The black/white design is only for the One X so I don't think it will come for the One S.
The white or black( more of a charcoal grey to me) color scheme is for the one X. If you are referring to the black one s with the red ring, well that is a different story. Here is an older post about the topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1607010
But to be honest, I don't know if they will even get the black one s with all the problems are people are having with the finish. Some htc people say that they are fixing the process, other htc people are saying that is nothing wrong with the process. As a business, why would want to screw around with that?

I have the black and it is still perfect after a few weeks, even after it falling hard enough to chip the glass (not my fault!).
So I think the problem is, for the most part, and as some others have said, people who are not having a problem with the MAO don't bother to report as such. For all we know the vast majority of the black phones are fine. Need to compare total number currently in use with the number of individuals with the issue (and not the number of complaints, nor the number of posts in the MAO fail threads)

That could be the point. Since the bad news seems to be more prominent then the good news, that may cause them (carriers or people) to stay away. I don't know though. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Personally, I am going to wait to mid-June and if there is not even a hint of a U.S. MAO, I am going to just get the grey one. I don't think I could wait any longer.

Plan on picking the One S up soon...

I currently own a G2x and am really interested in picking this baby up. The last few days, however, I've been reading about a lot of issues. These are mainly quality control like wear and tear on the power key, the paintjob coming off on the sides, etc.
I was hoping some of you guys could share your experience with the phone and whether or not I should take the plunge. Is everyone having the qaulity control issues?

My device is working amazingly. great battery and performance. the only paint chip issue is with the black and red model. I have the silver and blue model with absolutely no complaints. My suggestion: get this device!
I am very happy with mine.
I have a D30 cover on it, so I haven't seen the paint issue (or because the T-Mobile US model doesn't have the issue) and my power button works fine.
I also came from a G2X.
Agree with all of them .....one of the best phones out. No disappointment...no regrets with this phone....its the real deal and T-Mobile has an update coming out within a couple of days or so...so any lingering bugs should be fixed...this is a high quality phone built to last! High recommend it to anyone

Sounds like a great phone, but the paint chipping problem on the black and red model is a bummer because that's the one I liked more. Is it a really prevalent issue?

The T-Mobile version is the grey+blue version. This one does NOT have the chipping problem. As far as I understand, T-Mo will not be selling the black+red version. The only way to get black+red would be to get the international version shipped from online. The grey+blue (no paint chipping issue) model also has an international version as well (not T-Mo branded). I would prefer to get the T-Mo version (if you have T-Mo) because you can get it for a cheap price with contract extension if your line is upgradable.
Either way: black+red version = chipping problem, grey+blue = no paint chipping problem. The reason is because of the material it is made of. The black one goes through a process called micro oxidation where the metal is zapped with a lot of electricity. This leaves the black finish over the metal, which may chip over time.
I'm really happy with mine too. Only a couple of minor software bugs for me (that will probably be fixed with the OTA).
About the chipping (and pretty much all problems with all phones), it's hard to say how prevalent the problem is, because usually only the people who have problems speak up. You almost never see anyone make a "Who else's phone is perfect and totally awesome!" thread. So there could be hundreds of thousands of people without problems, but you only hear from people with issues, which makes things seem much worse than they are.
If you're really worried, I'd say go for the silver one - still the best looking phone out there, regardless of color. Black is boring anyway.

very simple, made in taiwan stuff meant to be sold in usa has to have higher quality otherwise the government of this country will kick htc's butt lol. while made in taiwan stuff meant to be sold in whatever party of the world, I dont thing is a big deal
I love my One S. The only thing I'm not totally happy about is the display. Sometimes the right edges of icons or text are a bit pixelated. However, this is not noticeable in games or movies which is what I mostly use mine for anyways. It's a very sexy device, and once I rooted it and put Trickdroid on it with a few tweaks (6 x 5 app drawer and removed the 3 dot menu stuff, remapped the soft touch buttons), it's just shy of perfection. Damn sexy looking too.
So basically I should get the blue version and don't have to worry about the chipping?

Correct. The process they used on the black and red version which causes the chipping was not done on the blue and grey version. =)

I see, what is HTC doing to compensate?

I have the One S myself, and yeah, I don't like the screen b/c it's not as high res as the X.
I just got the One S, but am thinking about jumping ship to the SG3. One of the things I like most about the One S, however, is the f/2.0 aperture on the camera which allows for better pictures in a low light situation.
Anymore input?
I'm still considering picking this phone up, convince me not to lol.
I kinda like the greyish color not tho, so the chipping isn't a problem.

At the moment, nothing. There really isn't anything that they can do once the process to the aluminum is completed. A coating to cover it is only as good as what it's covering, and if that chips, well...you get the point.
If you're stuck on the red/black one, just make sure to buy a clear case for it and you should be okay. Alternatively, I maintain that the grey/blue one is pretty sexy. And Samsung's plastic phones with Touchwiz suck. Don't do it. =)
another good reason

Not to [insert verb here], but for me, a decent case + screen protector only set me back $8. Not to mention that rooting the phone takes a couple clicks, while installing a recovery and unlocking the bootloader can be done through apps.
Edit: In otherwords, like how people below say, simple accessories and root are not really selling points. However you may have better luck selling the device.

I've done a couple deals here in the marketplace and I can tell you the phine being rooted means nothing. Most people here have no problem doing it themselves. Also, the case and screen protector help, but not enough. There is hope though your best bet would be to sell yours and use that money to buy one. They still sell for 400 and I'd imagine you could pick one up for close to that... when they get released that is.

Black Housing

ATTN All TMOUS HTC ONE S Owners-- If you have been looking for a T-Mobile black housing to replace your stock Grey/Blue housing, I've got some good news for you!
http://www.etradesupply.com/htc-one-s-rear-housing-t-mobile.html
Choose the black color, and scroll through the pics, and you can see that just like the stock t-mobile housing, it is missing the bottom part, which means it will be a quick replacement. Good luck
There is a thread here somewhere that has instructions and links to all parts needed to convert your T-Mobile HTC One S into the black MOA version.

correct, but that is using the EU black housing. This is the T-Mobile black housing, so you don't need to make any modifications to the housing itself. Regardless, I was just trying to help people out.
