I'm on 4.4 right now and I just reviewed the ota but when it finished downloading, it went stock recovery and just said "error". Obviously I was pissed so I then went the adb root but that wouldn't work either. Something about it not being able to find "update.zip" when it is clearly in the same folder. After that I decided to flash a custom recovery, not clockwork but the other one. Whenever I try to go that route it still says it failed. I have been looking at posts and none have helped so far.
I am rooted, I don't have busybox/xposed, I am using art. I read something about having to have all of the stock apps. I had a modded playstore on here but I didn't work so I re-download one and installed it, could that have anything to do with my problems? And if so, where can I find another playstore app?
also, this is what it says in the custom recovery: /system/framework/core-libert. Jar unexpected E:Error executing updater in zip I tried googling but to no avail.
That modded play store might have changed some system files that prevent the update. You can try flashing one of the stock 4.4.2 Roms available in the android development forums. I used the one by bigxie.

I own Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos (GT-B5512) Indian Firmware (B5512DDLG1). I use Hatyon ROM v1.1. However, I haven't installed any other kernel. I face the following issues:
Unable to update Google Play Services. It shows an error: "Package file not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous app and try again." When I uninstall the previous version and try reinstalling, I get the message: "Google Play services is incompatible with the ROM in your device. Contact the Manufacturer." However, It used to work fine on my Stock ROM. Google Hangout needs it and I need Google Hangouts.
I tried Installing Compact Kernel v1.2.6 and my phone got soft-bricked. I restored that via Odin.
Later, I tried installing Compact Kernel v1.3 and my phone got soft-bricked again. :crying:
Please help me find a solution to the above issues and suggest me the best compatible ROM and Kernel.

Try installing v1.2.5 it works fine for me. Wait for about 2 min it wont take longer than that to reboot.
If not- ask some expert( i m junior)
And try carbon rom for gt-b5512 . I think that is better than the hatyon one.(currently using it)-flashed that kernel 1.2.5 over it. WORTH A TRY!
Hit the thanks if u like!
Hello everyone. I have a very different issue. Firstly, I have a Samsung Galaxy SL i9003. My Baseband version was JXKP3. So I root my phone with JXKP3 CFROOT which i downloaded from this page; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
After rooted, I installed cm 11 named as "cm-11-20140902-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysl". I dont remember which site and I dont have url right now. Whatever, I installed properly and my phone opened. Everything works fine but when i install Google PLAY i cant open my account. I searched for this reason and i saw that some people say "root your device again and delete hosts file". So i decided to root my phone again and i saw that my phone's baseband was changed and it was XXLE4. I searched a lot but I didnt find anything. Can you help me?
Edit: and Google PLAY keeps saying "There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later."
By the way, I installed "pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.4-20140629-signed" too.
What should i do? Do i need to root again? So, how can i do that? I did not change my baseband version...

its temporary!
Hi.
I know it's kinda late for this question but, is there a real fix for this error?
I tried restarting the phone, using CMFix app, tapping camera, installing a fix zip, even used Terminal IDE, but nothing seems to work.
I also tried installing another ROM, but CWM keeps saying it 'is for Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500' but 'my device is GT-S7500L'.
I wanted to know, is there's any way to fix it? Or is there another ROM I could install?
I have been running Cryogenmod 12.1 for my Samsung SM-A300FU but its UNOFFICIAL and a preview the webpage i got it off says 'Wifi and Camera NOT WORKING'. I guess thats what i get for following my mates advice.
Because of this, i looked at CM13 (Android 6) which i got off the XDA site and i have made sure it is for my phone and model, the SM-A300FU. Of course, being my luck it didnt work. I get the error of 'Executing updater binary in zip' and i have wiped my phone then tried to install it and i have also tried to completly remove all OS and files then install it which apparently fixed it for people, but not me of course. In a desperate measure i even bluetoothed the ROM to another phone then back into my SM-A300FU to get it onto the internal storage but that obviously didnt change anything.
Finally, i gave up and tried to downgrade back to Android 5.0.2 although this isnt a CM zip. Once again, this ROM doesnt work. It just gives me an error saying it failed, no reason in particular.
I have a few issues for a whole range of files. Any help in fixing any or all of these would be much appreciated.
Links to the files I sites i downloaded the files from:
CM 12.1 UNOFFICIAL (Not meant to work fully) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-samsung-galaxy-a3-t3273323
CM 13 (Doesnt install) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-unofficial-samsung-t3326297
Android 5.0.2 ROM (Doesnt install) - http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entry/-Firmware-Download-Samsung-Galaxy-A3-SM-A300FU-Official-Android-5-0-2-Lollipop-update-Rolling-out
So to reitterate: I installed the CM 12.1 ROM without issues but it turns out to be a mod that doesnt work fully meaning its unsuitable for me. I downloaded CM 13 but this gets an error. I downloaded a Android 5.0.2 ROM which has an error it doesnt even tell me about.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Which recovery are you using ? Have you tried to update to the latest ? Also if that doesn't work try using odin to go back to latest stock then reflashing custom recovery
