[Q] What is the most stable ROM? - HTC One S

I am selling my HTC One S to a phone noob (ordered a Nexus 4) and I just need a ROM that will have as little issues as possible and is the most stable. Preferably Jelly Bean but ICS will do too. Doesn't matter if it is Sense or AOSP. Just something he can't mess up and come crying about. Any ideas?

AW: [Q] What is the most stable ROM?
I would suggest you to install the stock JB ruu on this phone. So its totally stock like he bought it in a store so he doesnt have to complain if sth doesnt work.
The other Option would be trickdroid which is very stable and bugfree as well.

Is it possible to go back to bone stock? With locked boot loader and no root? Forgot to mention I have the T-Mobile US model.

CM10 (latest nightly) is the ROM to go to if you want stability, smoothness and AOSP look. CM10.1 is also good but it's not exactly as smooth as CM10 and stock JB e.g. in games.
But as he buyer might not be much technically oriented, I suggest stock JB. Search the forums. Here's a nice guide to doing it.

That's kind of a stupid statement,***mod edited***... The ICS releases that are out now are just like stock AT&T ota ics... Do you think they're going to change the rom completely or give us aosp ota??? The releases that we have are as close to stock as they are gonna get, only thing they're doing now is getting bugs out or adding apps from the carriers that they want... Have you tried all of the ICS roms out there? I've been running seanz ucle2 ics release rom and I've had absolutely no problems... As long as you read/follow the instructions completely everything should be fine... And thinking about this, the skyrocket is from AT&T not from google so we're never going to get stock ICS ota... OTA releases are not gonna be like aosp, aokp or cm9...
No no no I'm not a dev guys OK I ported the rom and the last release I only helped a bit I been busy on a few projects for the skyrocket community lol but to say the hard work and dedication that actual devs have put in is beneath you is a statement that I can not condone and actually is an insult to this site the roms in the dev section are far beyond what anything Samsung will ever do (/rant)

Which is the most stable Jelly Bean Rom any idea?

Hello guys,
I have recently moved on to official ICS but I heard JB is far more smoother than ICS. I can see there are number of JB custom roms available through the superb effort of our developers. Thing is I am kind of confuse which way to go. In JB I am looking for a stable completly working ROM, which I can rely to use on daily basis for long term.
Some suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

I'm not sure if you could say it's fully working, but I know plenty of people here are using Andromedus as a daily ROM. I think there's a new build coming out soon, but read the thread to find what people are having best success with.
bnd just ported yet another JB ROM over too. Best way is just to try some out. Personally, I love JB but I went back to ICS (the ICE_DS ROM) because I've had a lot of sound issues with Andromedus in all the builds I've tried.
Hope that helps!

I think the best is just to try a few. As you can see in their threads and changelogs every rom still has its limitations. also check out www.blindndumb.com for some awesome (jb and ics) roms for our device
Thanks guys for advices n link. I for sure read lot more n may be try couple of JB roms as well before I stick to one. May be better to do little more research n wait. I hope recently released ics source could facilitate few things for developers. Finger crossed
Cheers.

I use Blindbean for now (not the new one available now) and I like it.
Since I use Jellybean, I don't wanna go back to GB or ICS, to much of a difference.
I mainly make phonecalls and use internet, so I don't really care about camera, pictures, games, music, ...
And for now, it holds up to my expectations. There are off-course some bugs, but for a phone that's that old already, I can deal with that.
(hell, I bought a Xperia U, because the stock HTC desireS was giving up on me, so when I got the Xperia, I could begin to experiment with root/roms and stuff, and now, the newer xperia is on the closet, and I use the HTC again (spec-wise, the desireS and xperia U aren't that different.)
I used to have BlindICE in its latest edition with which I was satisfied, but I've changed to JB with Codename Android and recently JellyTime, both from blindndumb. They are so smooth, I really can't come back either. But I'm also a bit lost concerning the differences between all of these JB roms. From what I saw, none of the 2 were really stable. In Jellytime, video playback can be glitchy, pictures have a green/purple line at the bottom and browsing with chrome shows weird artefacts. Other than that, they work fine. What changes visually in AOKP and CM10 are the ROM menus.

so what do you think which one looks better CM10 or AOKP?
Try both, it's a personal choice
As you can see I am on Androdamus, which is cm10
Tapatalked from Desire S running Androdamus
I run JellyTime R15 as daily, no bugs that are important to the grand scheme of things.
A few weeks ago I tested Andromedus and the latest CM10, and they didn't have FM radio tuner. I listen to the radio almost everyday, so FM radio support is kind of important. This is mostly the reason why I'm still not using Jelly Bean. That and some other little things I enjoy and didn't find, like "render effect", automatic screen brightness control, launcher settings...
I'm kind of new to the ROM flashing scene... Is FM radio one of the last things to become functional on a ROM? Do any of the other ROMs have working FM? I guess it's not a very high-priority item.
I guess I could try to setup a script to automatically download the radio show I listen to, after it's available on the radio station website, then send it to dropbox or something.
I'm usually a very patient guy, waiting for a final release, but it's becoming harder and harder to wait.
edit: By the way, I'm using CM7.2 now
As long as the camera doesn't work I won't use JB Roms.

Should not try Jelly Bean now for Desire S since it is not so stable.
If you want to use the stable ROM, please use this one. I already installed for 4 weeks and it is awesome. But this one is just Android 4.0.4, HT sense 3.6.

Well I've recently swapped to BnD Jelly time and I'm impressed. I've been using Niks CM10 for months and decided to try a kernel 3 ROM. I can't see myself swapping again as Jelly time seems the better daily driver IMO.
I also want to try this Jelly Time but just being cautious, are there any particular bugs you can tell or anything about this Rom or it also has Google Now in it right?!!

Camera works fine in Jelly Time, works perfectly if you download JB Camera+ app.
I personally use CM10 with my Galaxy Mini. Everything works perfectly, but seems there is a problem with the native tethering of both type. 3rs party software solved the problem.

Yes it has everything, including now. The small bugs I've noticed are the brightness sensor is a little laggy, takes a little longer to correct it self to ambient light. Chrome sometimes gets a little buggy, Netflix isnt perfect, front camera doesn't work, video recording is broken and I'm sure there are other small issues I've yet to notice.
None of the above is a deal breaker for me, as we have an increasingly unpopular phone we will always have to expect some issues as a price to pay for the latest os versions.
do we have cm10 for Desire S also?

Stable Rom for this phone?

Im buying a HTC One S this week and I plan on rooting it. Ive looked through alot of roms and im not sure on which one to use.
A good CM9 or CM10 rom would be greatly appreciated.
PS. Whats A .img file? On my other androids you installed roms by using clockworkmod recovery to install .zip files...
Sense roms are very stable for this phone.
I recommend you to install TrickDroid or Viper.
Well, first of all make sure your One S has the S4 processor otherwise your options for roms will be very limited.
There are plenty of stable roms but the most stable are the Sense-based ones since they are the stock roms modified just like LalyGirl suggested.
.img files are images of partitions that need to be flashed. The most common one that you will encounter is the boot.img which contains booting instructions and the kernel. Because HTC has chosen to make it hard for us, most likely you will need to flash the boot.img via fastboot using a computer. Yes you could use CWM or TWRP (the latter is better imo), to flash zip files but you would still need to flash the kernel separately unless if you are lucky and your hboot version is less than 1.13.

Correct, if you bought it from radio shack, Walmart, best buy, or t mobile in the U.S. You're fine, if you got it from ebay it might be a bit tricky. Check what your processor is clocked at (use a app from the play store) if its at 17xx=S3 15xx=s4. Your welcome, I recommend is for a stable ROM get Viper One s. For a aosp, but you don't care about little bugs, check ROM manager for the official cm10. your welcome!!
I would recommend the Viper One S. It's smooth stable and amazing battery life.

[Q] What ROM are you going to install on your AT&T One X 2.20?

Question says it all, which ROMs are you itching to try out on your soon or recently rooted & unlocked AT&T One X 2.20?
Right now I'm debating between CM10, AOKP Jellybean, CleanRom 5, and possibly one of the Nocturnal Roms. Thoughts?
I haven't even begun to look at Kernel's and Basebands.. so much to consider.

You have flash the boot.img separately if your phone came with 2.20 or if you took the OTA.

That doesn't change the fact that this thread is pointless, and mids will close it soon. Everyone uses their phone differently, and has different expectations and preferences about ROMs. If you just read the JL Beta thread you can easily and obviously see what people have to say about it.
