Hello friends,
I'm using att one x sim unlocked. So I won't get att OTA. I'm on 4.0.3 from last august. Tried several times to update manually to 4.0.4 but will end with the annoying Error120. Applied many workarounds like draining batt fully and recharging and leaving it for some time but still no use.
As we know JB is rlzed after a long wait, I want to update it badly and I want your help in resolving this...
I read many posts and articles but they are not of much help. Please post any working solutions so that I can update my phone. Also don't suggest me to root the phone. I don't wanna root it!
thanks in advance,
MHK.
RUU Error [120] means insufficient battery power, but I guess you know that. Have you tried a factory reset? Something may be borked with your battery management.

No, I haven't. Many complained that even factory reset didnt solve the prob! Which is the reason I skipped it.
This phone unfortunately has some sort of defect with power management, in which it seems to lose track of how much juice it's got, such as abruptly going from 100% charge to 1%. Could be something like that is going on.

This seems to be the easiest way. But if you want you can go to an AT&T location (official store, Costco, Sam's club, etc.) and let them help you. It might even be a hardware problem.

Well don't root it because it'll never update then. Have you wiped data? If that won't work go to How to fix your phone get the download package for EP4 and follow the instructions exactly. Then take the 2 updates.

Okay I had an L rom for about a month maybe less. Then Friday night, it just turns off and now all I see is flying colors.
In the ask any question thread I asked and some really awesome dudes were trying to help me but all of their solutions were in vain.
I used method 1 and 2 of the return to stock.
I made sure I followed EVERY step. Still nothing, it's been trying to boot for far far too long.
I really need my phone, and I'm not sure what else to do. I can't jump because I'm broke and that tamper flag is up.
Can someone help me? I have teamveiwer if it helps.
Also I should say I get several errors I think, like no recovery.sig or boot.sig when I clearly just flashed them.
Why do I get these errors? Is nobody else having the same problem as me? I'm getting really frustrated and to anyone who helps me solve my problem will get my oatmeal raisin cookie recipe (Not kidding, that's serious).
Please somebody help me. Ill be constantly refreshing this page so if you have any questions I will answer them.
Have you booted into the bootloader and used a Google bat file to flash the device completely clean?
Sent from my Android 5.0 Nexus 5
Yes
Follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Download "15 second adb installer" if you're having issues with adb or fastboot commands
Ignore the .sig errors
Worst case scenario flash each file one by one if flash all.bat doesn't work
Post up what happens after you run flash all.bat too
Have you tried flashing the KitKat factory images instead of Lollipop?

Either the op fixed the phone and is now celebrating by getting very drunk, or he smashed his phone out of frustration and doesn't care anymore lol.
Either way he's not refreshing this page constantly like he said
I didn't get the insurance or the warranty or nothing
No its still broken but I end up having to help my friend cause he car broke down all day.
No I didn't really want kitkat again, I really wanted to keep L. Ill try it when I can though.
I did both ways, flash all and flash manually but neither worked.

Don't update until someone finds out if root is patched in it, they may have fixed the root exploit in the update so yeah. Waiting also, apologies if this has been confirmed or non confirmed elsewhere, just saw this thread first.

If you want to take the OTA, you need to unroot. Easier way is to Odin to the new update. See the restore to stock thread for instructions.
Plug the phone into your computer, run the verizon installation. Open the app and update your device. Download load the ping pong root apk and side load it. Install and root, reboot. Upgrade and root done without losing any data or apps. I did this 2 days ago successfully. Took maybe 20 minutes. Make sure you have a charge much higher than 50%, say 75% as if you get less than 50% during the upgrade, you soft brick your phone. Charging it while the blue logo saying you need to repair is slow, quick charge doesn't seem to work but leave it plugged a for a while. A repair fixes the install. I actually had to go through this not thinking it falling under 50% would make a difference.

So to make sure my dumb ass is clear, this process can be followed using a currently rooted device, without needing to do any special prep work such as uninstalling supersu or otherwise explicitly unrooting the phone prior to using the verizon update service on a PC to get the new OTA loaded?

When my battery fell below 50% my upgrade failed. I had a blue screen that told me it failed and I needed to repair the install. Maybe the term "soft brick" was not correct but it was in an unusable state.

I did shawn haz root's way to update my device and did so successfully (i was rooted before update), but now when I try to root again with pingpong beta6, it says my device is not supported. Update at your own risk!
EDIT: with the new update my s6 feels a lot quicker and snappier like the other user mentioned. I haven't had the time to test out battery life yet, but the speed increase is significant and noticeable. Opening apps, clicking the home button is all very smooth

Hi all.
Am using an exynos Edge.
I did a full factory reset and started from scratch. With twrp rooted.
If I use phone for a while, then everything closes by itself. Maps, Facebook, keyboard mostly.
If I clear the ram and end all, or reboot, it gets fixed.

Lol another issue and another person blindly rooting their phone for no good reason.
I really don't know why people jump into rooting so quickly. What did you gain?
It doesn't happen on my unrooted exynos . You would know if yours was faulty if you actually used it before tampering with it.
HI I have 1+1 and its 2 years 3 month old. Presently its on CM13 MM(oxygen OS I guess) and rooted and have a recovery also. I did root and recovery around 8 months back.
2 days back when mobile was in pocket and 35% battery it went in to bootloop. after lot of stuffs like clearing cache and dalvik cache nothing worked.
Later at night i found out that mobile is working fine when its connected to charging (either by lapi or Mob charger). Hence I didn't go back to old recovery.
yesterday fully drained my battery and later charged to full and found same issue.
I am not able to make out whats the issue and how to move forward if I don't want to loose my resent data state. PLs guys help me to solve this issue.
will do whatever needed to restore my mobile. TIA

see it sounds weird but its true. when i connect charging it boots in normally and normal operation will start as usual. Even after full starting, once I remove charging connection it goes off to boot loop. I didn't do any modification in software also. just did normal downloading off apps.
I saw slimier 2 complaints in Oneplus forum but no one relied for that. even originator has not updated what he did finally. I have asked for reply from them too.

Then no issues with hardware....seems like a bad/corrupt frimware.
You need to unlock your bootloader and flash latest Cos13 through fastboot.
How to- https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...oader-install-custom-recovery-and-root.64487/
To flash Cos13- https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
Hope this helps.
Edit:After reading your first post seems like you're already rooted and have Twrp installed, with a unlocked bootloader, obviously.Though I don't able to understand if you're using cm13 or cos13 or oxygen os...
If you don't want to loose your internal storage, you can skip the userdata flash command while flashing Cos13 through fastboot, though,it is recommended to do that command.
You can always go to Twrp and take the backup of your internal storage in pc through MTP or a full backup using ADB.

bro one more issue started yesterday. I thought to making battery full nil and charge to 100% may help.
Before without charging connected I was able to go in twrp but not now. if i remove charging its going to restart even recovery mode also. When I went to restore old backup in TWRP mobile is auto starting even when charger is connected. but if i dont do anything its staying fine in TWRP lock screen.
without charging connected i can go into fastboot n stay for as long as i want but comp is not detecting mobile even though developer option is ON.
Yesterday thought of restoring old backup which interrupted half within 1min and now if i start mobile while charging its getting struk at 1+1 welcome screen.
I am fully confused like anything..
is it not strange that so many people (including) have started facing this issue suddenly in the past two months?

yes I am from India. I would suggest you first try with replacement battery as everyone sell replacement battery. you can find any of these in ebay.
