Hello,
I wanted to know, how much gb sdcard can our fit support (64,32,16,etc)? Which Class/Speed should I buy and what is the avg price of it?
I have a 2gb sdcard which came with the fit and is not at all sufficient for me.
Thanks!!

You can have upto 32 GB..
The more the class, the better the speed and performance.
Buy atleast nothing below class 4..
and costs from Rs.200 to 2000 or even more..

The largest class is the class 10. (Class: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10).
You need to purchase Micro SD Card.
The rest is all up already answered.
Our fit supports SD cards up 2 32gb of capacity. but it will definitely decrease d speed.2 avoid this choose 16 GB SD card. Remember, 4 higher speed u need a class 10 SD card!

I'm about to Root my phone and do the Apps2SD.
Will a Class 4 be fast enough?
The 16gb class 6 is about $50. That's just too much for me. that'll put the cost for this phone to be +$600 (529+20 for case + 50 for card).
There's a 16gb Kingston class 4 on amazon for $30.
Just wanna make sure I don't waste money on this and the apps all lag or something.
Thanks guys.
class 2 should be just fine. cards of different classes only differ in their write speed but not their read speed. AFAIK, there's no Android app that needs write speed faster than the one provided by class 2.
The only advantage of class 4/6: they might be faster when transferring files from your computer to your N1's SD card via USB.

Hi,
I have ZTE V970 which is dual core with 1G RAM (simillar to samsung S2 in spec),
Which class will be sufficient - the maximum I think of is recording 720 video movies with its average 5mp camera
is Transcend 8G class 4 is enough?
thanks

More the class, more speed will be for read/write things in SD card. Such that when you want to copy 50MB file in SD card or from SD card, class 10 SD cards copies faster than Class 6 or Class 4. Similar is the case in reading data. I guess, you got the point.
For more info about MicroSD cards you can refer this detailed guide about it:

is there a difference between class 4 companies. I mean is there a difference between sandisk class 4 to transcend class 4, or it should be the simillar speeds?
class 6
there isn's any difference in the writing speed for the same class sd cards of different companies. i'll also suggest you class 6 to be on the safer side. hit thanks if this helped

Actually I would recommend a class 6 or 10, the price difference isn't that great anyway. The speed is well worth the price increase.

You may as well get a class 6 or higher. It's not like they're pricey and they'd do a better job for you in the end. Instead of looking for the minimum of what will work, look instead for what does the job best.

The class IS the speed. The only difference between companies is their quality control. Sandisk has the best quality control, so you're slightly less likely to get a defective stick from them. Its really not a major difference in either case.

the class is a standard set by the SD association. any card classified as a class 4 should be the same/similar to other brands of class 4.
the only exception to this are the fakes (of which many abound on ebay)
an interesting read up on sdcard.org

Hi, I would recommend SanDisk Ultra 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Flash Memory Card 30MB/s . Its the best.
yes, but it's much more expensive,
I think I will go for transcend 8 class 4 for 8$ or transcend 16G class for 16$
thanks
I would say that u get strontium card...
I hav been using their 32gb & 64gb card for last 4 months...
No issues till date...
Strontium manufacturers the card which many mobile manufacturer themselves use as the internal memory chip of their devices....
Thats a big enough point to trust em...

so I am going on Transcend class 10
I would suggest a class 10, because I previously used a class 4 and encountered many problems and slow transfers. May cost a little bit more, but personally I think its worth it.
hi! i want to buy a new sd-card for my s3 mini. i had a 32 GB Sandisk ultra class 10.

If you're using maclaw's roms you can use a 64GB card.
I have a sandisk 16GB, no problem, good speed, works fine !
I have a Transcend 32GB, class 10, kind of like the one you had ozi5783. Bought it a few months ago, but if I knew then that I was going to use CyanogenMod, I would've waited a little bit longer, and bought a 64GB one. Not that I need that much space, but it would just be awesome to have... On the other hand, I guess that then I could store ALL of my favourite things (media) on it, and that's always handy.
Now, as far as I know, the stock phone supports "only" up to 32GB microSD, but like mauam said, with maclaw's roms you can use a 64GB card. Don't know if anyone tried it, though...
Btw, my card works nice and fast, no issues whatsoever... Very pleased.

Just to clear any possible doubt, I use a 64gb card
Well, I finnaly did a test with A1 SD benchmark, and this is the result. I use CM11 by maclaw.
Our phone doesn't support UHS speed, so I'll just buy a 64gb when I'll have the money.
I will try SD booster to see if I get different results and post some screenshots after.

I use a Samsung Pro 64gb uhs1.
Writing speed is about 10mbps and reading is 20mbps.
It works well on Maclaw's roms, but is not reconized on Stock rom.
I have a common 8 Gb, works fine with the Cyanogen 4.4.2. I don't think is worth buying a expensive one.
I have a Transcend 32gb and it works well specially on maclaws rom.
I'm using a Kingston 64 GB SD-XHC class 10 on Stock Rom, and even without root, I'm able to read it flawlessly :good:
I'm using a 32Gb Kingston external card and it's awesome!
I have a Kingston 8gb but I'm planning to buy a 32gb.
Does the size play role to the speed? I read that if you have an external SD card with big capacity, let's say 32gb, the speed would be slower if you compare it with an external SD card of 8gb. Is that true?
I lost my transcend 32gb class10 and I'm back to old 4gb class4 I lost many games

It depends on class of it not size of it like 4,6,10 obviously 10 is faster and we can use 6and 10 for expanding ram

I Have a Kinkston 16Gb HC Class 6 and in have 2048Kb for cache. It Works perfectly on Mclaws ROMs 10.1 & 10.2 and CM11
32GB Class 10's tend to work best for me.

If i buy class 10 sd card (ex: 16gb), can i give 1 gb ram to phone with swap ?
Will it effect to performance ? System cpu speed enough but ram really low
Thx for answers...

You could use SD card with swap to extend the ram but it going to be dead within 2 weeks because of the exessive Reads/Writes
I did used for a couple of days a 10 class Sandisk of 8GB with swap enabled and did not impact so much on performance.
Today bought http://www.digitalversus.com/memory-card/lexar-micro-sdhc-32-gb-class-10-uhs-1-600x-p16172/test.html (not from amazon but same card), 512mb ext4 and 256mb for swap with CWM use... (I will use high values later )
Results are okay, everything faster than i imagine. A lot of cards have 2 year guarantee, like this one. If your card dead in 2 week like k3eNaNz said, you can change easily in my opinion ( so use local market). And developer said 7 years usage time...
However i'm so happy , i'll add more virtual ram to my fit without speed loss
1gb ram on galaxy fit not bad

Yes a lot of class10 - 8gb microsd card around. Search in xda " clockworkmode swap" you can find many topic about this.
But remember, you should need class 10 or above sd card, ext4 and swap supported kernel too. ( so a lot of kernel and rom support these functions)

I also use 32GB class 10 sdcard. But I'll never try swapping. Coz even if I do have backup on my laptop but windows 7 disonnects the sdcard during copy/paste via card reader. So in case my sdcard is dead by applying swap & I buy new one...windows wont allow me copy files back... & using FTP to transfer files is very tiring process with possibility of errors...But it's my opinion guys.
Swapping not like real ram, like i said virtual ram. But All of you be can sure, virtual ram really boost the (our) phones x10 times.
Example: closed ext swap last night (from clock work mode) and installed "ram manager pro." And added 1gb (1024mb) (also will add 2048mb) swap ram to my fit. I did because of clcokworkmode give only 256mb swap ram.
Result: All apk's first open really open like vanilla (default). But after second one, you can see improvement. Speed comes with smile. And best thing for you, ram optimitizion scripts and task killers not necessary. Because swap file directly answer your response with 30mb/ps(+) read rate.
Recommend: Try with 8gb class 10 sd cards, they're cheap nowadays, you won't regret
Tip: Galaxy fit support only (maximum) 32gb sd cards.
