[Q] AOKP Rom Help!!!! - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I am a total noob to the android/root community. I have an AT&T GS3 (SGH-I747) and I just rooted it. I've been using the Jedi Invasion ROM installed on my phone and love it!!! Then recently I changed to the AOKP 4.1.2 ROM and was instantly impressed. I love it! The only issue I am having is with the wallpaper. I do not like the wide screen scroll left/right wallpaper. I would much rather a stationary wallpaper that does not move. I have searched high and low between forums to see if there was a way to change the wallpaper to a stationary one. I know there are apps like Wallpaper Wizardrii that can perform these actions, but I wanted to know if there was a way to do that without having to use an app. The way i see it the less apps I have to back up with Titan backup the better while I switch between ROMS like the noob I am . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove Multiple homescreens???

I have Team Eos 2.0 installed on my Xoom and i want to remove multiple homescreens cause 1 is enough for me,is there any tweak or any way to do that?
I also would like to add this wallpaper:
http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/191/5/5/iPhone_Raindrops_for_Mac_by_PrincessCakeNikki.jpg
as defaul without cropping it, because when im trying to put it i have to always crop it first so it fits in landscape and portrait mode and it screws all the quality of the wallpaper, any suggestions?
I don't think 7he ROM itself is set up for custom home screen counts. But you can download a replacement launcher like Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Those are ICS ready and are favored by many. Both are free. Give em a spin

I was wondering the same thing you were, so I took Legatos suggestion and installed nova launcher to see what it does and it took care of the multiple homescreens and other little things.... but i kept having problems with my wallpapers resolution which always have from the start, like you. Try multi picture live wallpaper app. I really like the results. I tried it on the wallpapaer you provided, and considering it isn't optimized for xoom, i think it is turning out pretty good.... hope this helps you, it has me.
id also recommend multi picture live wallpaper, does the job nicely plus its free

Yes.

Sense 2.1, what your phone came with, had scrolling wallpaper in froyo and gingerbread. The Sense 3.0 roms I used (gb), did not. In aosp/aokp that feature will depend on your launcher.

well... it just seems that all samsung devices have both options! it just amazes me that you canĀ“t do it in this roms!!! it should be an option!
It doesn't always work on those Samsung. I know the Note was having serious issues with scrolling wallpaper. Any Android phone can give you this option. If you insist on running Sense, you will be limited to the features of whichever version you use.

Question - How do I change the number of home screens

Hi all, I am a newbie to Android device here. Please don't flame me.
I have recently acquired both Nexus 4 and 10. Both great devices. However, I really don't need to scroll around 5 screens. I can't seem to find any settings that allows me to reduce the number of home screens. And according to the forum I read, the only thing I know is to install a what's called "launcher" to provide additional customization which allows me to change the screen. Since I am new to the Android scene, I rather stick to stock everything as much as I can and familiarize myself before I venture too far. So I was wondering if there is anything changed since 4.2.1?
Any insights would be much appreciated. Thanks!
This app will.
This is the only way to do it aside from manually de-compiling the .Apk and editing it, trust me, this is a lot easier and this launcher is just the stock version but with extra options.
Try Apex Launcher or ADW.Launcher both or good.
If you root your device there are roms that have this build in.
for instance my HTC Sensation with ViperS has Sense, and that can add more home pages..
There would be roms that have this feature built in

Doesn't stock launcher do it? Do a pinch in gesture, it will show overview of all screens. Long press on the one u want to remove, it will guide u through rest.
life!
Thanks. I tried the pinch on my N4 but didn't seem to work.

Next launcher is best in the market... try it ... it is fully 3d and developed by go team...

Actually its perfectly fine.
Just load a up a launcher from the play store. heres one
(^And if that launcher doesn't work then you can find another one that supports your needs)
Then in the drawer at the top right (Button)you can organize a group and deselect apps that you don't want displayed.
Even in the settings you can put a password on it too and customize all the colors, transitions, gestures, and animations! (It's awesome! I even bought adw launcher ex too)
The beauty of android is that you can replace nearly anything straight out of the box and fully customize the OS to your liking.

Different wallpaper for Desktop and Lock Screen

Hey all. Gosh I feel like an idiot for posting but cant for the life of me figure this super basic thing out.
Im on a S7 Edge, using Nova Launcher, and the Goodluck UI. Wanted to mention all that as I think that is why Im having so much trouble. No matter what app, or setting on the phone, it makes the wallpaper the same for both the lock scree and desktop. Can someone tell me what steps work with the configuration I have
Thanks!
