We have recently started a Video Gaming Forum and Blog.
The site has mobile and desktop skins, but no Android app.
Do any of you guys know where we could find a Forum app for our website.
The forum software that we are using is IP Boards 3.2x and we would like to have an affordable solution that's similar in the look and feel of the XDA Developer app.
Thanks in advance!
You can use a plugin for Tapatalk than use the Tapatalk app for Android. Basically the XDA app is the Tapatalk app but you can only access XDA from it.
Big fan of tapatalk. Using it to post, in fact. Also available for iPhone&iPad. One of the few apps I've bought for my phone.
What the other guy said-the xda app is a branded tapatalk I think
Me to, I use Tapatalk, but my TF101 Is dead in the moment.
What I noticed, Taptalk loads quit slowly on my tablet always in the wrong orientation. (portrait)
We just started our Forum, its a project from a young men still in High School and the 800US$ for the custom Taptalk app are just out of his league.
I dont know but insnt there a way To add your forum to the tapatalk catalog..
Thank if help'd

So I have the tf201, but on tapatalk I can't find the forum. Since these device are kind of similar, I thought I would post here. Is it possible to emulate an old 16 bit windows app on the tablet? We use it in school for respiratory care. The app allows is to listen to lung sounds and answer questions. Can this be done?

If it were a DOS app you could use AnDOSBox, but you might search to see whether there is a port of WINE to Android (you'll still need an installer for Windows).

Has anyone found a solution to opening Snote Files on Pc? I'm not talking about exporting to pdf.

It's just a zip file. Extract it and take a look. The default templates are changeable in this way also.

Here is an option...
Samsung ativ win 8 tablet comes with snote. I have often sent my snote files from 8013 to my friend can open them on windows 8.
We just need to get an installer out of it that will work on other win 8 laptops.. and hopefullt win7.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
I copied the .snb file to my PC, extracted it with 7 Zip, navigated to the snote folder, and opened the snote.xml in Word. It gives me all the text and is very readable. It didn't, however, give me the photos and videos I had embedded in the file, but I imagine (not being a computer geek) that those instructions are contained in the other .xml files, as I have a folder in the archive that also contains those elements.
Yes, it would be great if Samsung could port the S-Note to Windows.

I'd like to know too..
using on win8
I have a new Samsung Ativ T700. It uses an Intel Core i5. In the metro environment there is an SNotes app that is the same as on our tablets. Well, actually, the tablet is better, but you can copy your notes over and then import them into the Win8 version. Works fine.
I'm lost on what your referring to I guess because I don't have a ATIV, but can you clarify what is a metro environment?
Google "Metro UI"
I don't understand how people today STILL don't realize 90% of all questions in the universe have already been answered on Google.
Did I know it was a ui ? Sorry I assumed someone could answer a simple question without being a ****.

Icryan, the problem is that it's not just you. It's pretty much anyone blind or too lazy to use Google.
Nothing to do with being a ****. I'm teaching you and others like you the solution to the rest of your life.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
Try working in retail tech one day, you'll see how many times the same simple question that can be answered by the FIRST link on Google gets asked.
IE: how to MUTE the VOLUME * face palm*
If everyone were like you, every forum would be FILLED with IDENTICAL question threads, and eventually NO ONE knowledgeable will bother answering after repeating the same answer 10 times.
Just Try it, help yourself get some perspective.

I knew what you were talking about (vaguely), but for kicks, I Googled metro, and didn't find anything, results improved after using metro environment, but barely. It might seem obvious to you, but not to someone who isn't sure as to what they are looking for.
Using your analogy, there is a difference between teaching a man how to fish, as opposed to telling him to throw a hook into the water.

Just bumping this in order to keep a discussion going on the availability of a APP capable of opening snb files.
Possible if the pc app in windows app is ported to other devices

If one bothered reading this [read: two page] thread, they would have come across my earlier post linking "metro" to "Windows 8".
It's a clear clue that "windows 8" has SOMETHING to do with "Metro"

Now, upon seeing this, he/she would have had enough terms ["windows 8 metro"] for retrieving a relevant Google search result.
clearly, In this case, simply READING would have been faster than posting a message and waiting for someone to post an answer.
But that's your choice. Kind of like double clicking on internet links, sure it'll work, but it's a waste of everyone's time and effort.
Half the stuff I want to do is pretty basic.
So whats the closest app to paint or paint.net?

photoshop is a great app but the problem is that that for most basic users it does not have all the features or its very difficult to acess or too cumbersome
I use photo editor.. Good, fast and have plenty of features for quick edit
Other one i use is picsay pro photo editor which was free from amazon app store sometime ago...
There are many others too.. You can try a few and see what fits u the best .
I must have installed a 4 or 5 apps.
For jeebus sake I just want to select, copy, and paste in a new file. Takes me 3 clicks in XP. Ugh.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
It does not come any more basic then ps touch that came with the tablet.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
I guess im looking more for a drawing app than a full blown editor.
Lets say I have a pic of a cat and I want to doodle a top hat on its head. With PS Touch its buried under a whole bunch of crap. With paint, I just start doodling.
I'll just have to google around. Or bust out the SDK and code something but I have other projects im working on right now. Moving, work, etc.

I totally agree. Especially for the tasks mentioned by the OP.
Actually I use ps touch a lot more than desktop applications now, because it is so simple to use, and the s pen gives you better feeling and accuracy.
Get PhotoDesk... open a pic, click edit and start doodling,.... plus it's got a bunch of built clip art and stuff
I think it's exactly whst you're looking for... really easy and it organizes your photos really well too...

I have PhotoDesk and its ok.
I think I'll try a few of the photoshop tutorials.

try sketchbook x from autodesk. seems pretty good.
I believe there's a section for the Chromecast, but it isn't possible to browse into it on Tapatalk.
Open question for anyone with a Chromcast. Is it common for the sound to get really staticy after about twenty minutes of continuous use?

when I got my chrome cast brand new at Christmas I popped it in a small flat screen and I got static as soon as a started a YouTube video.
Thank you, that's what I suspected. I suppose you get what you pay for. I'll probably get a Roku then.

its not a terrible device, google definitely needs to open source it so we can fix its problems. it still gets massive performance updates, and this static problem only happens probably 1/5 times i turn it on.
Thank you, I'll give Google's tech support a fair chance first. Although mine does it consistently, every time I use it, there may be something that can be done.
