I have enabled System bar lock (Settings/ASUS customized setting/System bar lock). After locking system bar everything works as expected. But If I try to unlock system bar, by sliding a lock icon in system bar, it asks me for a password (never set any password before !?) and after I type anything as a password, system bar crashes and I cant use device.. Back/Home/Apps button is gone, clock and other infomations is also disappear. All I can do is to reset device, because there is no way to exit running app.
I noticed this problem after latest 4.2.1 update. Please, tf300t - WW users, can you check this on your devices? Any idea how to solve this? I really ned this feature, because when my kids play games its very usefull.

Having the exact same problem, for time being I just disabled the the system bar lock function, even though I need this for my kids when playing it so they do not keep getting into the settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have keyboard dock and still can use device. Just go to Settings and disable System Bar lock and System bar appear again. At least I dont have to reboot device.
Please, can anyone check this problem and report here?
I also have this problem, but on a TF300T with US sku.
Latest update of course.
I tried using/changing the lock pin and password, and the asus app locker password... no luck whatsoever.
Seems it's fixed by last update.

My notification bar intermittently stops responding i.e. the pop up window with WIFI, GPS, etc options doesn't come up when I click on lower right corner. The home, recent apps, and back buttons work perfectly fine. I already created a thread about audio issues I am having with JB update. Now this... I tried cold boot and system factory reset.
Its all stock. No root or unlock.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Hello.
+1 : my Infinity (root, but not unlock) have exactly same bug since JB upgrade, i.e. no notification bar after boot (nothing happens when I click on lower right corner) unless a notification appears, so I must unmount and re-mount microSD for example to have a notification, and then the notification bar is back...
I thought it was a JB bug, but it seems that only some users encounter it... So, as Arundroid said, any help would be appreciated ! Thanks in advance...
+1
Simply click the clock on the bottom right has no effect.
However if I use launcher defined gesture to invoke the notification bar, it will appear.
well a couple days ago i was messing around with launchers. i had just finished installing and configuring my home screen for go launcher ex, and like it so much i decided to set it as the default homescreen app.
next i decided to install go locker and see if i liked any of their lock screens. so i installed one i liked and tested it. when i was satisfied with the appearance i decided to reboot the phone just so i can see it all settle in from a cold boot. but hadnt yet set go locker as default.
this is the part that gets interesting:
on boot everything started normal. but my default pin code screen came up. so i entered the pin and right after logging in a window popped up asking me which locker id like to use or select as default.
assuming this was the 'go locker' trying to launch itself after the fact on boot because it wasnt yet set as default i decided, what the heck let me set it as default right away so i can see it all boot up straight in. and im really glad i did.
i noticed after a while of using the device that accessing some programs like messaging, email and facebook that for some strange reason my default lock screen requesting the pin would pop up. id have to enter the pin for the app to actually launch. it was weird but i sorta liked it, and decided to get to the bottom of what caused this glitch over the past 24hrs.
it seems that the initial boot which asked me which locker i would like to use was an action launched by the status bar. thus, after setting it to use go locker erroneously as default, now any time i select a notification from the status bar, the pin code lock screen pops up requesting the pin before giving access to the notification. and for some reason, i really really like this.
i am thinking the lock screen is somehow embedded with the statusbar? wonder if any devs could shed some light on what configuration would cause this. and im interested in setting it manually to other apps as well. i dont mind that its my default pin code screen. what i like especially being able to lock apps with my default pincode screen. meaning i wouldnt have to install any additional software to achieve app launch security for specific apps. for now it only works on apps that notify me via the status bar. i figured out that much.

I'm having very inconsistent lock screen notifications on Nougat after the update. I'm on the stock theme with Magazine Unlock.
Update: It appears as if new notifications display on the lock screen. As soon as you unlock the screen, then re-lock it, the notifications disappear from the lock screen even if they're still active in the notification tray. This is not how lock screen notifications are supposed to work, AFAIK and as far as I remember from Marshmallow and other ROMs as well.
Global:
When device is locked: Show all notification content
If device is locked, prevent typing (...) [unchecked]
Screen lock secured with PIN, fingerprint unlock enabled
App specific (In this example, 'Slack'):
Allow notifications [checked]
Display on the lock screen [checked]
When locked: Hide notification content [checked] (tried this set both ways, no difference)
I don't see any lock screen notifications with these settings. In the case of Slack above, I have active notifications in my status bar and I don't see them on the lock screen.
I went to bed last night with nothing displaying, woke up and I saw Calendar, Gmail, etc on my lock screen. Used my phone a bit, re-locked display, turned screen on, and back to no notifications. This morning though, Tasker is now showing in my lock screen (as it should) but none of my other apps are showing on the lock screen.
Is anybody else experiencing this?
I have a similar problem.
I have just upgraded to Nougat, EVA-L09C432B360, and I have no notification on status bar on screenlock. I find it annoying. Didn't find any work around.
Once the screen is unlocked I find the notification on status bar.
I dont want to have the notification displayed as a banner but only in status bar.
It's very annoying. I didn't have this problem on Marshmallow with the VUi Material Design theme, maybe once he gets a version for EMUI 5.0 it'll start working again.
I've just upgraded to B378, but still I got no notification in status bar of the lock screen ( nor aquamail or whatsapp). It might be the applications in fault here.
I just got a brand new Honor 8 which immediately upgraded to Nougat, and this seems to be the default behaviour for lockscreen notifications on EMUI, not an issue or a bug.
Since EMUI is heavily iOS inspired, and this is the notification behaviour on iOS then they copied it. I suggest trying a different lockscreen app until Huawei changes this.
That is caused by the theme used.
Go to themes, customize, lockscreen style, and be sure that you have selected #unlock with images"
I have only magazine unlock option. This did not solve the problem.
I'm having the exact same problem on my P10 lite (it came with Nougat out-of-the-box).
Has anyone figured this out? I don't have unlock with images option either..
As mentioned earlier - EMUI does not use the standard Nougat lockscreen notification actions. Do not expect it to work like stock android. The only way around it is to do one of these two options:
1. Install a 3rd party launcher (be careful, some don't play nicely with fingerprint/pin security)
2. Install Nils Lock Screen Notification app from the Play Store. This app does exactly what you want and lets you keep the stock lock screen.
Had the same issue with Gmail notifications using an Honor 8. The solution I found was hidden in Gmail Settings.
Open Gmail settings
Click on your email account(s) under the General settings
Make sure Notifications is checked
Select Inbox sound and vibrate
Make sure Label notifications is checked
This was the missing piece for me: Make sure the Notify for every message is checked
Screenshots of Gmail Settings
Also make sure you have changed the default email app to Gmail. Settings, Apps, Settings (wheel that appears at the bottom of the screen), Default app settings, Email - Gmail.
I had the same problem before. To fix it you have to enable the magazine unlock after apply the theme.
I tried in many ways to disappear the time from the top bar with no results, do you know a way to completely disappear or eliminate the time from the top bar? This above all to show more notifications on the upper bar, thank you.
Would love to know this too!
Unlock System UI Tuner either with a launcher like Nova or a app like short cutter which is great by the way. You should be able to hide anything that shows up in the status bar

I tried this out using the Nova shortcut, however whenever I exit the app, the settings immediately go back to default

I understand what you're saying, but if it accesses the same system UI tuner built into Android that Nova does, it's not going to change or fix the issue.
When time is removed from the status bar, it comes back on exit. Removing other icons simply doesn't work. Is this the case for others as well?

What's up with the attitude? I tried it, yes it's the same thing, yes it suffers from the same issue. The clock in the status bar always comes back
I've decided I rly don't want the nav bar. I prefer the Samsung three button swipe up method. How much of my current setup can I get back should I unlock the bootloader to root and therefore factory reset my device?
...Unless there's an option to hide the nav bar without root
Thank you.
For me, factory resetting really isn't all that bad. Been doing roms since 2011, so starting fresh is a reoccurring thing for me.
My important photos/videos are backed up through Google Photos while my SMS/MMS are backed up through SMS Backup and Restore. Everything else, pretty much just login through apps with a password manager. System settings, I go through one-by-one and set them up every single time, but that only takes but so long.
Maybe someone could add some stuff that requires manually backing up those apps specifically?

Going to see how this works, give me one sec. Not sure how it works on the latest Android, but it can achieve what you're looking for.
Vivid Navigation Gestures - Apps on Google Play
Fluid navigation gestures for all of us!

Edit: No go. Dug up the article and now it seems like your only option will be to root, unless someone knows something more.
Google confirms overscan is gone in Android 11, crippling third-party gesture apps
Google has confirmed that overscan is not present in Android 11. This change will cripple third-party navigation gesture apps and others.
www.xda-developers.com
vivid navigation gestures paired with aospmods is the only way to hide the navigation bar. afaik the setting to hide the navbar within vivid NG doesn't work. need root
I could be completely wrong with what you are after regarding the swipe options, but try this for the 3 button navigation. (Translated from Dutch, so menu might look a little bit different)
Settings > System > gestures > system navigation
Here you can disable the swipe, and enable the 3 buttons option.
I'm using the Xposed Edge app to hide the navigation pill. I also have the None Display Cutout module installed which, in conjunction with the Xposed Edge app, I can toggle the Status bar too.
