CM 10.1 Question - Asus Transformer TF700

I just installed CM 10.1 on my TF700 and within mere minutes I have become frustrated with having the nav buttons (back, home, recent apps) in the center of the screen. On a 10 inch device, they are impossible to press with my thumbs without taking one of my hands off the tablet. I know this isn't a CM thing, since I think it was Google that changed this on tablets with 4.1 or 4.2. Anyway, is there a way to get these buttons shifted to one side? I took a quick peak through the Settings to find something but I either glossed over it or it isn't there.

Not currently but Asus have fixed it on their 4.2.1 upgrade to be released soon.

[Q] HOME without touching the hardware button?

DroidX, rooted, stock ROM
I came from a rooted Incredible with soft buttons, and dislike the hardware buttons on the X. I installed the brilliant Swipepad, which handles many of the issues, but still haven't found a convenient way to get HOME without that button.
MENU and RETURN would also be nice.
Is there a way to do that?
Lucky You Try Button Savior.. I've been using it for 6 months and it's great, Has menu, screen off, home and others

You could probably look for a soft keys app. There's a few out there.

Installed Button Savior and tried various config options, but can't seem to get the trigger to show on my Droid X screen. ???
If you run CM7, you could turn on 'Tablet Tweaks'. It adds honeycomb style home/back/menu to the notification bar (and lets you move it to the bottom rather than the top if desired).
after you install you need to open the app, and go over the settings. Then the trigger pops up

I am running CM7 on my Droid x and my galaxy tab... settings are there on my tab but the tablet tweaks aren't all there on my Droid x, only status bar on bottom option, dead zone option and disable lockscreen option. The settings for soft buttons aren't there, where they are on my tablet. Not sure if it is unique to my rom but my source for Droid x is straight from CM7 site, and I install nightlies almost every day. I'm in no way calling you a liar, but I am wondering if you have first hand experience, as if you do, I would actually like to know how to get the soft key setting, because it would be practical at nighttime to switch off lights on home buttons and use a soft key instead(those home lights are so damn bright at night and you can't lower their brightness like you can the screen, but you can shut them off)

You are correct. I assumed it was there and didn't actually check until just now.
I use CM7 W/GB (RevNumbers builds). They are almost identical to the official nightly builds. I also use CM7 on my G-Tablet. Know that Tablet tweaks was there, and that the Tablet tweaks option was there on my X, I just assumed (my bad) that the options were the same.
After your post, I double checked on my X and I get the same options as you.
Looks like button savior is the way to go.

Lol so I'm not crazy? It would be nice if the CM7 team added those features to our x's. I just might go bug the CM7 team and see if I get a reply I can't imagine it would be difficult to add those options to the menu...

[Q] GT-P3113 AOSP Flashed No Home Bar

Hi all,
I have built JB for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" from AOSP. It boots up sucessfully, looks to be working, and by disabling the physical keyboard I can get the keyboard to work on screen.
However, the bar that is usually on the bottom of the actual touch screen is missing. It contains the home button, the back button, and I think the apps button. It's hard to navigate between apps without it.
I was wondering if anyone has encountered something similar to this? Or can suggest a direction to take?
Thanks!
What height is it set at in ROM control ( if AOSP has one )? What dpi are you running at ?
EDIT : sent you PM.

[Q] Home screens not changing/scrolling when touched along the left or right edge

Hi, this is my first post as I only recently got my Infinity after getting a refund for my Prime. Presently I am running Stock ROM with Jelly Bean and it is rooted but not unlocked.
After the Jelly Bean update I noticed that while on the home screen I could longer change from screen to screen by touching along the edge of the screen instead I had to do the swipe action in order for it to change. Here's a picture to show what I'm talking about:
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...c2a86d1cf64/508863d2/1/4/2/8/0/0/9/Screen.jpg
Those red boxes are the areas that when you normally touch along there the screen switches either to the left or right one. Strangely, after a fresh boot up it, touching those areas works but as soon as I go into the menu area and return back to the home screen it no longer functions. Also if i should rotate the tablet to portrait and then back to landscape the ability to do the touch returns until I go back into the menu again.
Anyone else having this problems? Any idea what could be wrong? I did 2 factory resets with no help. Help, Please!
Thanks.
Oh I don't know. The people here, maybe? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917222&
There's this bar at the top right of the screen. It says "Search". Clicking the gear behind it allows you to select the TF700 forum only. Please use it, people here have little patience with those who do not search first.

Sorry. I did search for this problem first but I only looked in the Q&A section as I didn't think It would be in the General Section. Thanks for finding the existing thread. Hopefully there'll be an update fix for this soon.

[Q] Xylon ROM [4.2.2] HTC One XL Nav Buttons wrong association?

Hi, obviously I'm new to posting on the forum but I've been reading this forum for many months, just S-Off'd my One XL earlier today and installed the unofficial Xylon 2.3.3 A6 Experimental Build 3
This is an incredible ROM with one gripe... I can't find a way to change the Navigation Bar settings properly. Ideally I'd have the back button be 'back', the home take me to the home screen and the recent apps button bring up the menu with one press and recent apps for a long press. This is oddly not the case, holding the home button brings up the recent apps instead and holding the recent apps button yields nothing and I've searched the forums, read through the official thread, can't find a way to change this. I've gone into Xylon Tools in Settings and the only nav bar options only change the optional on-screen Nexus nav bar which I obviously don't want since I've already got capacitive buttons for that.
Other than this one problem, this ROM is golden from what I can tell.
TL;DR - how do I change the nav bar buttons on the Xylon ROM, only

Youtube On screen controls won't disappear

If I'm watching a YouTube video, I have to click the small X on the bottom right for the on screen controls to go away, but they won't disappear automatically. I installed IYTPB so maybe that's why? I attached a photo. This is whether I'm in portrait or landscape view. Thanks.
I just updated from Android 7.1 to Android 8.1.1 on my Nexus 6P, and noticed this same behavior almost immediately after the upgrade. On Android 7, I don't think that little "X" button even exists in the controls.. Instead, you just tapped anywhere on the video, and the controls would instantly disappear (or simply wait a few seconds and they would disappear automatically)... Or you could do the same to bring the controls back up once they were gone. This new behavior is madness if it's intentional! Every single time I touch anything on my phone (YouTube controls or otherwise), the controls pop back up and you have to click the tiny little X button to make them go away again. It's so backwards and retarded that I simply cannot imagine that this was an intentional decision on the developer's behalf.
I checked on my bone stock Pixel2 with the June update and I'm experiencing that behavior. The on-screen controls disappear a couple of seconds after touching the screen.
